I agree totally

When I spoke to the ticket office pm yesterday I was told that there were 10,000 tickets left. I would guess therefore that the attendance tonight will be in the region of 23-24000

The PA system has been sub standard since it was installed. You can hear fine in the concourses but in the stadium itself - forget it. I have long given up trying to hear everything broadcast, especially pre recorded stuff. I e-mailed RL about it years ago and he never sorted it as he said he would.

So who's received their wembley tickets in the post yet?

Yes thank you -

I was thinking of Sophie & how she is doing only a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the update. I hope that someone with clout at the club shows some compassion here and sorts out of of the many empty boxes to accommodate her from time to time. Season of goodwill and all that.

I think a simple apology from Stevo would suffice. However I doubt he has the nouse to make it.

FF - Are there any plans for or is there any chance that either the club or supporters could fund a trip to St Marys for Ron as part of the clubs 125th Anniversary next year. Am sure there would be a full house if that were to happen.
-
My very best wishes to you Ron. Hope that one day you will be a visitor at St Marys and introduced to the supporters.

Is he on a piece of elastic ? Anyone got a pair of scissors ?

That really is awful news about Chris. My thoughts are with Ron at this time and I hope that despite the gloomy prognosis, Chris pulls through OK.

There are some posters on here whose input I value highly and always make a point of reading. FF falls in that category and I do hope that he continues to post. There are a number here whom I consider to be wind up merchants or deliberately argumentative and I tend to ignore their posts. It is a question of individual choice. Personally FF I think you should have 'ignored' who you perceive to be the offender and get on with posting your messages for which I think the majority here look forward to and respect.

Bit of a pointless thread if nobody knows what the hell it says

Yes he looked a bit unfit - isn't that what these games are for? I thought his distribution was quite good and he read things quite well. I think that he needs to be given a proper chance to prove his worth. We need a right back and he would certainly be an improvement on the out of position right back that played most of last season. IMO of course.

Totally agree

Well at last things are being sorted out at our club. New owners (with a Euro or two to spend); new manager with very good knowledge of the league and no doubt good contacts. Pardew always struck me as a manager who would give his all and adopt a seige mentality - something that we need starting on -10 points. Given our current position - a pretty good appointment IMO. Now looking forward to getting in some players and the start of the season.

I feel very sorry for Mark Wotte. He has stuck by this club during the darkest days in it's history. I hope he gets a decent pay off and finds another post soon. Now for the future. In a way, Wotte's departure looks like a signal of intent by the new management. I only hope that they consider the next appointment carefully and do not make the same mistakes as the Lowe regime did in disastrous selections.

Well if Mr Oldknow is returning & if he does read this forum my message to you is this. From the one and only time I met and spoke with you (shortly after your arrival) you came across as rather condescending, smug and full of your own importance. You also seemed rather dismissive of fans views. I do hope that you are not as bad as the impression that you gave but time will tell. Today is the dawn of a new era for Saints. Despite my reservatiosn I wish you every success in your new post.
-
My thanks too to Mr Liebherr. I very much like the sound of his statement of intent for the future. Let us hope that today is the start of an exciting and successful journey for him, the fans, players, staff and Southampton Football Club.
