So much for MP's ability to attract 'star' players to the club - even one that he has worked with in the past. VW's transfer was a long draw out affair - he didn't seem too keen either. Would love the club to keep Billy Sharp (keep your abuse to yourself) and prove all these big time Charlies wrong with a top 8 finish. That is all.

According to the font of all things factual - Wiki - Damiao plays fow Southampton

Well done all. Glad that you passed your target amount.

Beautiful picture of Mara. My Grand daughter turned 1 this week is delightful. Really hope that you meet or surpass your target - after all, plenty on this forum who have saved £50 by boycotting the new shirt lol.

I think that the side improved greatly when Cork returned last season. I like him a lot. Just needs to add a few goals to his game though.

Looks great. Saints - going places.

I have a tattoo that simply reads "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" No doubt tattoed on your extra large appendage

Remember all those names too. Wasn't Rhino about then too or a year or two later. Anyway, a google search for John Titheridge Dogs brings up a Boorley Green phone number- if anyone's brave enough.

Saints' kits through history (+other striped teams)
Isla Wight replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
My favourite is the 87 - 89 Shirt. Occasionally see fans still wear this one. -
Nice to see lots of photos of Saints fans wearing their new shirts - all with smiles on their faces.

I am truly pleased that your life is so complete that you have so much time and energy to moan about the colour of a football shirt. Next week it will be another moan about another topic. Don't like the shirt? - don't buy it - simples.
-
Of course we all have opinions - that's what forums are for surely. Just need a little context. What would you prefer watching - your premier league team playing in a red shirt with a little sacrifice of tradition or your league 2 club playing in a traditional stripey shirt. Get real.
-
I'm sure that NC will not lose too much sleep over a couple of hundred keyboard warriors moaning about the shirt. He has shown in the past that tradition is not a strong point of his, nor is treating people kindly. What matters to him is the bottom line - ie how much cash will they generate. I have numerous striped shirts that I could wear to games but usually buy a new one and will do so again this season. I can afford it and it's my choice. There are some good striped variations about in the 'mock ups' and who knows we may return to them in coming seasons. IMO the only thing that would persuade NC to return to stripes would be a mass boycott of anything but. Personally, I can't see that happening. How fickle we have become. A few seasons ago we were on the brink of extinction. We could now be a non league team. Now we are signing players for millions of pounds and have dreams of European competition. Time to take stock and be thankful I reckon.

Well, as always it's a matter of personal taste. For me, stripes year in year out became rather boring - there's only so much variation you can have. I was pleased to get away from stripes for a while with the sash kit and last years shirt. I quite like this years too and will buy it. I confidently predict that on Sunday there will be a large queue when the shirt goes on sale. Having said that, I prefer some of the 'mock up' shirts that appeared on the 'shirt thread' - my favourite being in post 1037, followed by that in 1061.

I just phoned the ticket office instead of doing it on line. Easier to sort out any problems.

Saints: "2nd best fans in the Premier League"...
Isla Wight replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Some of the usual post hijackers sending out their keyboard negativity. No doubt the same individuals would revel in a second place for being the hardest crew. -
I feel privileged to have seen him play for us when I was in my early teens. One of the greatest players ever to play for Saints in my opinion. I always hoped that one day the club would make him a guest of honour at St Mary's so the fans could show their appreciation. Sadly, never to be. R.I.P. Big Ron

Yes. Upgraded child's season ticket to adult several times this season. However you have to attend the ticket office in person with the season ticket.

Very pleased - has proved that he can perform at this level when his head is right.
-
Simply superb. Am pleased that I had the pleasure of seeing him play. Had a bit of pace about him too when he wanted.

Welcome aboard the bus Vegard - it could be a bumpy ride.

I dislike all posts which end with the word discuss.
