Corky you are spot on! Pocchetino was sly and using our club to his own ends even to the extent of unsettling players and fans alike which is totally depressing!

Frankly the overreaction on this thread has been ridiculous and embarrassing in my view, and I will wait with interest to see what he AL says in the Echo. I know I'll be shouted down but sorry but what has he done to warrant that sort of a response? Plus you think this thread is civilised! Seems to me he's left for an inflated fee to play in the Champions league as players have done for years from all clubs. He's also helped to get us where we are now and we've been handsomely rewarded by him moving on. I for one liked him as a player and bear no grudge towards him. Instead of all the childish aggression perhaps someone could explain exactly what all this high expressed emotion is about?

I agree it's very concerning losing this calibre of player, but my view is that the club has overachieved, as a consequence of these players. They cannot realistically earn 100k plus with us or realistically win medals so understandably when the big clubs come knocking they will be off - as would anyone else! I would add that if you believe we could become one of those clubs you are dreaming frankly. My final point is if this is a true firesale then we wont see signings that have been promised. I believe that RK is a manager who doesn't keep unhappy players and promotes young players quickly so expect further departures.....

Completely correct, and why shouldn't he? Forget the loyalty thing, he's stayed with us because it suits him, now he's changing jobs because he's had a better offer. If we make him a better offer he might stay but I doubt it. I for one have no problem with that apathy from my own personal disappointment and that's my problem not AL'a isn't it?

Whether it's true or not this is the sort of leak that will make the board look better because lets face it AL will eve in due course so they need him to be the villain of the piece don't they?

Have any other posters heard this about Lallana? Just wondering whether he's always been like it or whether it is more latterly. I hope that GUan,s contact is wrong, and that when AL does go it is with our best wishes and not under a cloud so to speak.

Just out of interest what was the dream? To win the champions league? Have a brand new 80,000 stadium? Be the next Barcelona, Real etc? Does anyone really think any of this was possible? For what it's worth I think NC convinced players that this was a dream but they have realised that as happy as they are here to make these dreams become reality they have to join bigger, more famous, more successful clubs. This also includes Pocchetino, who has jumped now and I believe would have done even if Cortese was still here. Basically we've peaked with this group and some of them will leave as a result. The biggest thing now is who replaces MP and then what happens with the squad. Until then who knows what the future holds so I reckon people should sit tight and wait and see......COYR,

No actually none of these have been sold yet so why not wait and see what materialises. There is no evidence to support a fire sale of players or the Liebjerrs selling up just big clubs interested in signing our best players which is what you would expect after last season.
