I presumed that the stadium and overdraft were debts of SLH rather than SFC. If this is so then SFC does exist but obviously without a stadium. As a subsidiary club it can continue while it pays it's debts. The problem is that it too will become insolvent without any injection of cash hence the plea both for big attendances and a buyer by the end of the season when revenue will dry up. Presumably this will affect the 10 points ie if SFC remains out of administration. This is both worrying and confusing...

Hi Derry So am I right in thinking that provided someone buys the football club from SLH ie owns it complete with all of it's costs/debt that are not associated with SLH then no points deductions apply either this season or next? What I don't get is if SLH are in administration how can they (not the administrator) agree such an advantageous deal?

I apologise if this has been posted elsewhere, but can an enlightened person please explain what the scenarios are in terms of points deductions (or not) for this season or next and the reasons why? Thank you in advance.

I apologise for any offence Stu it wasn't meant but surely this debate should happen WHEN not IF we go into administration. There are 14 games left surely the aim has to be to win as many as possible and get as far away from the bottom three as possible - maybe 10 points a la Doncaster form? Where's all the spirit of Southampton gone? I realise that people will think my view is over optimistic but we must stay behind the team and the club NOW! I also believe until rumours become fact they are irrelevant, and I for one wish people would stop spreading them. Virtually everything posted by people (in good faith) who are supposed to know something virtually never happen, but they create a very negative impression which does nothing to help SFC. I also want a new "club" ie no Wotte, no Lowe, no Wilde but that's not going to happen now is it? So please don't just throw in the towel and feel sorry for yourselves.......STAY WITH THE CLUB AND THE TEAM!!!

Quite right Ponty! I fear for the future with the attitude of so called fans on this forum. They will never be happy about anything unless ther is a public hanging of Rupert in the centre circle before kick off! In response to your orginal question my answer is no! You are entitled to your opinion but in what way do you think this will help? Stay away if that's how you feel. Protesting inside the ground will certainly ensure we are relegated! MLT has stated several times that the players confidence is very fragile and a good positive atmosphere lifts players and helps get results. This forum is representative of a very tiny minority of Saints fans and is not representative of the majority in my view. Rather than your dreadful negative rabble raising do something positive maybe words like passion, fight, hope, conviction, loyalty, belief should be reflected in your thinking. It is your opinion that "we are already down" so don't speak for others please. You sound like you want us to be relegated to prove yourself right. Well I believe we can stay up and do want to continue 'supporting the lads', and I don't want your protests taking place inside St Marys. Do it somewhere else and stay away if you cant take the pressure!!!! Rant over!!

I left after Donny's 2nd goal and as I was leaving I was told by a total stranger that this was likely to happen. He added that the club would go into administration before the end of January to avoid 10 point penalty being applied next season...... I didn't believe it but who knows....

What a great post! Also a great idea. For me this sums up the way I feel, I do not want to murder Rupert or stop going to games but I do want to show how bad I feel! My only input would be to invite members of the forum to donate towards a fund that you and others would manage (possibly from the forum). I would suggest getting advice from an ad agency - maybe one sympathetic to the clubs terrible position - who could advise on the best ways to maximise impact and publicity to effect change. Good luck and you have my support. SOS!

After 37 years watching with my dad and 2 sons I fear that I watched my club die today and have never felt so low.....even both relegation years were not this bad A manager with no idea what to do. Whose tactics are so bad, misuse of subs, the awful, boring, pointless, no end product, so called "pretty" football that is driving me mad! 3 at the back with one centre back???? No idea how to hit it into the box early and put defenders under pressure, players who cannot tackle and have no physical presence......... Fans who don't turn up and when they do they fight amongst themselves, make little noise..... A Chairman who is so ARROGANT and condescending and is on some weird Dutch crusade that he wont admit is failing............and finances that should never have reached this state...

Sorry Tim what planet are you on? We need to forget Jan completely and appoint an experienced manager to try and save us....

Derry did everyone forget you at Christmas? You definitely sound bitter and twisted about DMG. I thought he was easily the best player on the park as did David Armstrong! Please get over it and start giving credit and praise where its due instead of all of the negative crap.....
