Hi Phil, glad to see that folks such as yourself have changed direction. Do I presume that whingeing is a thing of the past in your case then? Only kidding - surely though things will change when the ML/AP love in stops? I shall read with interest if we are still on -10 after saturday. COYR

Matron says calm down dear you'll make yourself ill! Seriously this is a forum and everyone has different opinions. What's wrong with that? I would add that perhaps there have been a number of threads of this type because a significant number of posters are concerned. Signing players before a new season starts is pretty important particularly when you are starting on -10. Finally I am optimistic about the medium/long term but am uncertain about the short term - I hope I have got it all wrong. COYR!

I am still waIting for us to really make our mark! We have signed virtually no new players and spent no money while allowing players to leave, Why? I want us to spend significant money to sign top div 1 players such as Ricky Lambert from Bristol Rovers. If we don't sign anyone then frankly I am worried whether AP knows enough about buying lower league player on frees or low fees. I hope he does. Judging on reports we may have no forwards with any experience, plus Lancashire and Perry as centre backs. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COYR!

I don't normally comment but we are still a selling club!!!!

You miss the point it's not about players leaving it's the lack of replacements urgently needed..... -
Here here! Have to admit I wanted Bart in - I was totally wrong!

End of August? Rubbish most clubs are not in the mess we are in! Wake up we need signings immediately - forget Hearts they were ripe for the taking!! Just because Markus has bought the club doesn't mean a guarantee that everything will be alright now!!!!
-
Pathetic lightweight - no loss!!
-
Sign him up! Better than Murty and young....
-
If they both leave we are truly ****ed!
-
Really! presumably all of the new signing will turn up next Friday! That'll really worry Millwall.....

perhaps we should sign Murty before he buggers off a la SJ........

depressing thread -6 I reckon...

Sounds like a load of we're doing our best but with no players. Why are we so sloooow in the trrrraaaansfer maaaarketttt zzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!

Frankly you seem to be forgetting that Rasiak is unlikely to stay possibly Schneiderlin as well oh and you forgot Lallana and Wotton. I think the current squad is not good enough and will start the season next Saturday on -10 points. Hence I am getting worried particularly about the lack of forwards and centre backs and any statements from Mr Cortese or Oldknow about the immediate plans for the team. I want to know now not at the end of August......

8 days 'til kick off, not panicking but still waiting for something to happen.....
-
Thankfully they didn't....
-
I take your point Art that panic is not a good thing, but very little has been communicated in the last 2 weeks that gives any vision for the future. I am sure that plans are being made but poor communication of this could be a mistake. I think that having an "owner" could bring problems of this kind ie ML has no obligation to keep fans updated on progress so I hope this is not overlooked. I would add that possibly only having Matthew Paterson up front, and no assistant to AP so late in the day is a concern when we start the season on -10 in 9 days time...... COYR

Is anyone else wondering when we will hear in more detail about the big vision for the future of the club? Nothing significant from ML. NC or AO yet. Maybe some kind of timetable, or regular bulletin/update would help. This combined with players and coaches being released without replacements seems a little odd with the season just over a week away. Surely new players are needed now so they can play before the new season starts, we are on -10 so need a good start. We can't wait in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I am very happy with the takeover, and AP as manager, but more communication to the fans and the media would help in my opinion. This might explain the reason for the delays. COYR

Running up the white flag and accepting defeat.

.....and AP likes 4-5-1 I think.... -
Exactly what guy said. There will be a lot of renewals after pay day then newbies after that!
-
Ticket office said 8500 sold - deadline before general sale August 1st. They believe between 12 and 15000 will be nearer the final figure. Excellent news ! COYR!

No disrespect but I work and socialise with Reading fans and they are not saying this. They felt Madejski handled it badly when AP left. There view was AP left them in good shape and had been there 4 years.....

Ridiculous post! Trying to stir up negatives before a balls been kicked - what is wrong with some posters? Should be locked....

Bookies odds on next Southampton manager
modern matron replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I agree. There would seem little logic in unnecessary delay at this late stage - and if there was a reason ie new man at another club - the reasons would be known. This combined with resigning KD, not resigning BWP could make you think the wheels are in motion already - albeit from afar, maybe sunny Spain. Of course the same reason could apply for another prospective manager. Finally the issuing of a denial either from AO or WGS would end all of the speculation re his possible return - you could say the silence is deafening....
