  1. At least this shows that JP is aware of the huge gap left in CB options with the departure of Davies. As with most of our signings I expect whoever is brought in (if any are) will be no one on the vast majority of our radars. But I hope that whoever they may be they go on to more than emulate their predecessors' acheivements at SMS.
  2. The River Inn used to sell Belgian Horsemeat steaks? What did they call them on the menu? There are sooo many foods that I miss over here: sausages, bacon, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, custard tarts, etc, etc, etc. I am sooo looking forward to my trip over there next month!!! But, at least I can get Mountain Dew here in my local supermarket!
  3. As I said before (and clarifying somewhat) my guess would be: SJ is away with T&T, therefore leaving a spare place with the first team squad. The reserves played yesterday so would prob have a different training session today. Hence Saga was making up numbers, whilst getting a training session in here, whilst over sorting personal business. It all makes perfect sense to me, especially as we are still his parent club.
  4. I doubt he would be training with us today if he is playing for Poland in Kiev tomorrow. My GUESS is that he has come over to sort out some business during the 'international break' and as we are still his parent club he asked, and was allowed, to do a training session whilst here.
  5. If what JP said about him wanting to leave is true (and why wouldn't it be?) I couldn't agree more. But then again, if he did ask to leave I would presume this would have been in the form of handing a transfer request, and as the club must surely be aware that this transfer would have upset a lot of fans I would have thought they would have shouted about the transfer request from the rooftops - yet there is no mention of this on the OS report about him going!?
  6. Amen to that......... (I just hope the OS aren't merely holding back the 'wondrous' news that we have signed him to give us a boost - off of the Itchen Bridge - later in the week).
  7. If we were to go into administration there would be nothing stopping the likes of Lowe, Askham, et al, bidding to buy the club. Administration would not definitely mean the end of them. How many clubs have gone into administration only to be bought by the very people that put them there? The ONLY THING administration would definitely gaurantee would be -10 points. And that would make it a 99% probability that we would definitely get relegated this season. I can't see how any Saints FAN would want this to happen. I certainly don't.
  8. Usually I use: Priviat; Strasvetya; Dobra Utra, Dobra Dyen or Dobra Vietcha (depending on the time of day); or a simple 'Hello' if I want to use English. And I usually use 'Hi' in e-mails.
  9. Soooo, Killer has started to feel his knee just as Davies is about to be sold! Great!! I really hope this is not the beginning of yet another CB catastrophe at SMS!!! As for the subs bench: I don't think I have ever known a Saints bench (at home) to not have a striker on it. We were AT HOME and had: 1 x GK; 1 x CB; 1 x LB; 1 x DM; 1 x RM. Okay, so he was worried about Killer lasting the game but didn't Wotton used to be a CB? Didn't he play in that very same position on Tuesday (for the 2nd half) at Exeter? If he (JP) REALLY felt that he HAD to include Lancashire on the bench why wasn't it at the expense of Wotton or Mills? What was the reasoning for having a LB on the bench? Was he worried that Drew wouldn't complete the match as well? It was a home game FFS, and our first one of the seaon at that, and we had lost our previous league game. We needed to get some points on the board (although I did really expect a loss today) and any idiot would have put a striking option on the bench, even Burley would have done so!! Reading back through this post it looks like a pop at JP, and maybe it is, but the bottom line is that I really do hope he learns his lesson from this mistake!!
  10. He also played last Saturday and in the cup for them in mid-week, so yes I am pretty sure he has signed for them.
  11. Woohoo!!!! I've just realised that I am not a full member (although many people have called me a member on too numerous occasions to mention). That must mean the snail has finally arrived in Southampton with my cheque!!
  12. I don't know about Wembley, but I've got my ticket to watch Belarus Vs Argentina at the Dynamo Stadium (Minsk) on Wednesday night. I'm a bit gutted that they've put the price up for this game though (and I expect the prices to remain at this higher level for the world cup games). I had to pay 6 quid for this game, whereas I only used to 4.50. A bloody rip-off I tell ya! As for getting there, I have a few options but will probably go 6 stops on the bus from my place, followed by 2 stops on the metro and a 5 min walk to the ground. Afterwards I shall pop into one of the bars in the city centre to celebrate seeing the Argies getting a stuffing (I hope) or to commiserate that they didn't.
  13. Personally I hate to see any decent Saints player leave the club, but I am not going to get upset about the departure of Rasiak. We all knew it was going to happen so the only real surprise is that it has taken this long. I just hope he can score the goals (for Watford) to assist our cause, no matter which end of the table we end up at. As others have said, we now definitely have to keep Stern John and hope that DMG doesn't loose his scoring boots. As for the others in the shop window, I would not be disappointed if Thomas, Euell or even BWP were also to leave but I am keeping everything crossed that Rudi and Kelvin will still be at SMS come September 1st. I am pretty sure that Jan would like them to stay as well (and also think this to be true of Euell and BWP, if truth be told). As Jan clearly stated at the fan's forum, he has bveen told not to use certain players until after the transfer window closes, but if they are still here after that time he can integrate them into the team as and when he sees fit/they are needed. I certainly feel that having Rudi in our team could be the difference between a top half finish or struggling near the bottom again.
  14. Errmmm, as it quite clearly states in the above article: "While sex is not an Olympic sport, it is expected to be an activity in the Beijing village housing 10,500 athletes..." RTFT, FFS Happy To Hump (err, I mean Help)

I didn't realise that you would accept foreign currencies as well. I could have sent you Belorusian Roubles instead of the cheque, which appears to be limping its way to Soton. I would then have been the only person to have to pay over 20 grand for their subscription (1 pound = 4 200 roubles; 5 pounds is 21 000 - and some people are moaning at a fiver ;-)). And, in case you are now worried, the cheque is from a U.K. bank account and not a Belorusian one. N.B. My reasons for having to send a cheque is that residents of Belarus, and no doubt many other countries, are not permitted to use paypal. And this is the first time that such a ruling has really annoyed me. I will be soooo happy when I can make more than 3 posts a day again!
  16. I fully understand where you are coming from and agree that at this moment in time it doesn't look good. However, ............. If all those do go we would have got rid of a heck of a lot in wages, so hopefully JP might then be able to bring in a couple of players (full backs?) on loan? And talking of loan players, even when the transfer window is closed we are still able to bring in 'emergency loans' should the situation become to dire. And, of course, the flip side is what JP said at the fan's forum: that the senior players on high wages are being left out at present because the club is hoping to unload them. BUT, they are all still training and any still here after the window closes will be fully utilised if he feels it is best for the team. Personally I hope that Rudi doesn't find another home in the next few weeks and that we see him in an attacking role for us next month. But I have a feeling that he and Rasiak will go, probably on August 29th. I doubt that Kelvin will go (which I think will be good, and he did seem to have a good game today). Nor do I think that Euell or Stern will go, although I don't think we will miss the former even if did. But, having said all that, I am very concerned about the full back positions for the games where Drew and James will not feature, and there will be a few of those!
  17. I'm sure you will enjoy it. I have recently returned from a 3 week holiday in the Ukraine, and it was great! I was based near Kazantip in Eastern Crimea, on the southern shore of the Azov Sea. The Azov is far better than the Black Sea, it has sandy beaches (as opposed to stones on the majority of the Black Sea ones) and is a lot warmer than its bigger neighbour. For the first week I was there, without any exaggeration, there were at least 10 females to every male there - both on the beach and in the bars/clubs. And around a half of them were very nice indeed (just a pity I was with the wife ;-)) By the third week this ratio had come down to 5:1 as more families had arrived. Beer (average 50p a pint) and food (3 of us could go out for dinner for less than 15 quid) were very cheap. The best thing though is that I did not meet, see or hear anyone who was not Ukrainian, Russian or Belorussian. In other words: no chavs, p!ssed up Brits, sunbed-hogging Germans, arrogant French, etc, etc, etc. I will almost certainly be going back there again next year! Oh, and my second holiday this year will a week in Eastleigh at the end of September. Exciting eh!? At least I will be able to go to the Norwich game!!
  18. There is already a TSF - sorry, SWF - league created (it was started on the old forum). Once you have created a team you can join the league with pin number 777. (I hope whoever initially created the league doesn't mind me posting this up again, especially as my team is still awaiting acceptance.)
  19. I'm pretty sure we used a player twice in one of our other friendlies, when we changed almost all the team at half-time and then someone got a knock. I would go and check on the OS but it has crashed. All in all, it's no big deal and perfectly okay in a friendly.
  20. Don't you mean, "David '3 goals in 1.5 games against premiership opposition' McGoldrick"? I will be very happy if he maintains his one goal in every 45 mins of football scoring streak. (I doubt it, but I can live in hope.)
