As for the OP: 6 players - two has left the club again. (or are you refering to Jack Stephens?). The jury is still out on two, but both have made promising starts. Then there is Jack Cork, which leaves your initial argument with one player - Forte. I think you're too quick of the mark with this argument. And I do believe you're wrong on parts of your reasoning. A solid squad with loads of quality wins the leauge, not just the starting XI. We need competition on at every position to keep players on their toes. It also provides cover in case of injury with no significant change in tactics.

Could be very astute, but I also think its *********.

Please not him.

Good move! Happy to have Harding on the bus.

Moderators: Please delete this thread, as Ashby Saint has started one almost similar to it. Doesn't need two of this sort.

I've been looking a bit at possible Scandinavian targets at CB and there's a few names showing up here and there. Magnus Troest, 24 year old CB, playing at Genoa - currently on loan at Varese in the Serie B. Very good defender, playing a bit under the radar at the moment after good spells at Parma and Atalanta. Vegard Forren, 23 year old CB, playing at Molde IK. Already been noted by other clubs, such as Milan, Newcastle and Liverpool. Vegar Eggen Hedenstad, 20 year old CB, playing at Stabæk. Is in the Norwegian U-21 side and having a good season despite big financial problems at his club. This could also make a sale more possible. They've already sold their best striker to rivals Vålerenga. Andreas Bjelland, 23 year old CB, playing at FC Nordsjælland. Mentioned this player before and he's still highly regarded. On the fringes of the Danish National XI. As Troest, playing a bit under the radar at the moment.

Reports of Pompey on the verge of signing Norwegian winger/striker Erik Huseklepp tomorrow, pending a medical. Estimated transfer sum of £1.4 mill. Link in Norwegian: http://www.vg.no/sport/fotball/engelsk/artikkel.php?artid=10081512

Also in a Norwegian paper. Reported transfer of around £1.4 mill. He's a quality player, but as I've said before; there are some question marks around his current shape, as he's been out-of-favour at Bari. There's also the trouble concerning the original transfer from Brann Bergen to Bari. So any bets on how long it takes before Bari gets the entire amount?

There are a few other names currently in Norway, I hope our scouts have noticed. Thomas Drage of Tromsø IL, 18-year old winger, having his breakthrough season this year. Mads Stokkelien of Start Kristiansand, another young striker. Had two good years, but is struggling at the moment as Start is in the relegation zone. Also, Ole-Gunnar Solskjær has taken over as manager of Molde and seems to have succes with young players at the club.
