I don't need to watch the DVD as I was there. At that time I worked at the dell and went to every home game and many away. Matt was fantastic, all I'm saying is that he also has his weaknesses and wasn't fantastic every game or even every season. I think they are very different players. Ricky reminds me more or shearer, good in the air and a natural finisher. At that job he is nowhere near shearer but he does have a better touch, free kick an cross than him.

I think because Matt has retired and he scored some vital goals at key times, we have rose tinted spectacles about him. Don’t get me wrong, on his day he was up there with the best in the world BUT…..he wasn’t as good as we remember. He was lazy. He sometimes went missing. He wasn’t as good in the air as Ricky. He did perform in the highest division but at a time when the league was of a much lower standard. Lets face it Dowie, Dryden and Neil Heaney also performed at the highest level at the same time. I think Ricky has played like a god this season and if he is able to do the same for another 4 or 5 years, in that time turn down a big money offer to say Villa (equivalent to spurs in the 90’s) then he will be up there with Matt, if not better.

Alpine, I've strarted to wonder if you have watch any football in the padtvfew years. Just go to justins to watch it or the iraqi goals boys.

scored the last ever goal at the Dell (against Brighton) -
"Plus why would he want to go and live up there, not going to happen." Maybe he wants to be closer to his great friend, GlasgowSaint.

Yeah, I heard it. The poor guy sounded simple. From the way he was talking, I think he was friends with W******d. This would tie in with the simple thing.

And those bloody horns! Who thought it was a good idea to buy their kids those? Got there at 9:30am and tried to get som breakfast, when a family with 4 kids stod next to me. The kids were blowing the horns non stop. I understand some people may think it helps the atmosphere but we are not African or Russian and don't need/use bloody horns.
-
I agree with this 100%. I've already moaned about this loads but the atmosphere on the upper tier was sh1t. Some groups of people where singing but we were far too spread out. I moved to the back row so that I could stand and get away from the codgers beside me. When the first come on you reds went round the two people next to me put their fingers in thier ears.... I wasn't that out of tune

As a player it was super alan, to the tune of super ken monkou.

You missed the main point, which is undisputed... He is soooooo up his own arse it is unbelievable.

I booed two things. 1) Lord darth Vader - Although i do hope he keeps his tough line on finances when the skates come down (I do know he won't be in the job then but I hope he still has influence) 2) the Carlisle fans for the Mexican wave. i also wanted to boo the masses of miserable non singing Saints fans in the upper tier but didn't. Only one way to solve this, a big NC chant at St Mary's next week.
-
Don't care what happened on tv. It didn't happen! The sound at wembley is **** and sounds like people are booing and cheering at any point. Sky can play it how they like. Pardew, NC, ML were all give a good ovation from where I was standing.
-
******, I was there and it didn't happen. People, who I can only guess are like alpine, Glasgow, and dell days did spoil it. Bigger questions: Why do some saints fans never sing? Why did some saints fans leave early? (when's the last time we won a cup?) why was there an amazing atmosphere outside but inside was ****? (wembley acustics?) why don't you negative gits who are probably also the non singers pis5 off and suport pimpy?
-
I live in London anyway but there will be a few of us drinking in Covent Garden tomorrow day time. It would be pretty funny if a few anti pompey chants went round. The best meat place in all of London, if not the world is http://www.bodeansbbq.com well worth a trip.

Leicester fan at work keeps telling me that their under 13 girls team are playing in their cup final at 11:30 on Sunday. Hope they don't cut up the pitch too badly.
-
We're the upper tier. We're the upper tier over here! Really hope Carlise don't do something stupid like win the match. It doesn't seem like we've even thought about them.

It is essential if you liv outside of the uk. How the hell do you follow games a t the moment? Btw game will be streamed as on sky sports. Be on iraqi goals or similar.

Where are your seats for? I might swap for club wembley (middle tier). You would have to pay the difference though as mine are £60. -
Good, could do without you. Heard AFC down the road are recruiting, why don't you try them?
