I really hope not as this has really ******ed me off when they have done this before. I also, completely selfishly I would not mind if a few season ticket holders are put off by the non drinking rule. I would not drink for the whole of December if it meant getting a ticket for this game. On the other hand, if I can't get a ticket I will get completely smashed in a pub and watch it on TV. Hopefully Pompey see they can't sell more than 12k on a regular basis and give us a massive allocation. Not going to happen but a happy thought all the same. I fear they/the police will get together and give us a tiny allocation and blame it on the "trouble" at the last match.

Take a moment and reread it. Maybe get someone to help if necessary. I do go to away games, I also go to home games about 25 games in total last season. However, I do not have a season ticket as I can not go to every home game. I probably go to more away games than home. It is therefore annoying (but I understand why) season ticket holders get first dibs on tickets for big away matches, even more annoying when they get a plus 1 ticket. What I was saying is that this might put off some knobheads going just to start trouble. For example, I have a mate who is a bit of a D!c but is a season ticket holder. He has promised another mate (who likes a fight now and again) he can have his plus 1 for the pompey game if that is the system. The other mate goes to about 3 games a season but he would have a ticket and I wouldn't. Now...If the bingo bus system was in place, it would make it less fun for all of us. However, it would mean that they both might think, lets give this one a miss and get smashed for the home fixture. This would mean that a non season ticket holder with a good record of buying tickets like me, would have a greater chance of getting a ticket for this match. Hopefully that makes it clear for A jumped up pantry boy, who never knew his place.

Yes, but because of his fame and position he has had to use a pseudonym. For the duration of the trial he will be know by the name Dr Conrad Murray.

Having looked on their forums recently, and the way the few say they are playing, £10 per ticket seems expensive, even for neutrals looking to kill time.

You are 100% correct, whether it is getting implants, getting her tits out for the paparazzi or looking like a meat head bloke, she really throws her self in to it and gives 100%. Well done girl!

Something I have not noticed mentioned so far but is really key is the the price of the tickets. If we had 50,000 seats to sell for every game the tickets policy would have to be really sensible. If the lowest price ticket was around £15 and there was a huge family section were kids accompanied by an adult got in for £1, then it could work. Long term these kids would grow up to be saints fans, keep coming and help keep the 50k ground full. It would also help reduce the glory hunter fans defecting to Chelsea, Man Utd etc

Good night out for the staff then.

Looks to be the worst year yet for FM and maybe the first time I won't buy it. MLG will obviously defend it blindly, cut and paste stuff from the party line but the biggest change this year appears to be that you have to run it on steam. Not much good if you want to play it while away from home etc. As for possible changes MLG, what about a year selector. Go to a year of your choice, maybe in the last 20 years and manage from there. I know you are going to say the data needed would be huge but with that kind of attitude we would never have gotten past championship manager Italia. A decent ground breaking change like that would have people really wanting to go out and by an updated copy.

And Baisingstoke? I often take the train down from London and a few supporters pile on from there. It is a very interesting subject though as long term teams will always be restricted by the level of support the city can offer. Regional capitals like Barcelona and Madrid will always be massive clubs because of the level of interest outside if their city. London clubs also have the corporate angle as well as tourists, and recent immigrants. I had some corporate tickets for Arsenal last year and I realised they will always have the funds to steal our best young players as there were so many people there like me, on a corporate freebee. Companies don't mind paying loads for a couple of club level tickets with a meal included as it is a tax write off and a good night out for their clients. I know other cities have companies as well but there are obviously more in London, especially big spending city types with international links.

Bloody Hell, 12 posts in and no sign of Dalekdic bringing up Hoddle, what has the world come to?

The Watford fans said it was his worse game of the season. Said he looked disinterested. I must admit I thought he was a bit crap and didn't really cause us any problems. It must be disheartening though, to chase the ball back and forth as the defenders stand in triangles passing it around in 30 degree heat. Then when your team do get possession they just lump it into space for you to chase. Even my dogs would get bored of chasing the ball around all afternoon.
-
I didn't hear Watford sing anything all game, so he didn't have anything to worry about. On the Radio Adkins said that he has played a lot of games recently and his calf felt a bit tight, they therefore decided no to risk it. Giving him a couple of weeks off to rest seems like a sensible idea. Why run a player with a poor medical record into the ground? I like our current better safe than sorry approach to injuries and it seems like we are getting less repeat injuries. The medical staff seem to be doing a great job at the moment.

Agree with this, it is like an ex-girlfriend going off to **** someone bigger, more successful and richer than yourself, while you are left to lose an argument to the ugly Welsh bird you are left with. To rub it in she is interviewed afterwards, she says the standard of sex is higher than she is used to but over time she will adjust to be at that level.
-
Radio 5 live said before the game when they saw him in the starting line up, "It is great to see Arsenal bring young players through." I shouted at the radio, "though where? through the ****ing door from Southampton." Is Arsene now going to get credit for developing him as a player? Bunch of *****s! (Arsenal and BBC).

Burnley are poor, Burnley are poooooor your dad's a binman your mother's a whore He said no burnley, he said no He said no burnley, he said no He said no burnley, he said no Jack Cork, he said no.

No last week. It is the the away games that gather big crowds i.e London games, Leyton O, Charlton etc that seem to gather a bunch of knobends just out on the ****. The Burberry cap example was an exaggeration to get my point across. I can imagine skates away being attractive to the same type of people, not too fussed about the game but very keen to get in a bit of a ruck. See the other thread on this game http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?32608-Skates-v-Saints-on-BBC&highlight=tokyo with some suggesting that only lads in their 20's need go. Well there were a limited number of lads in their 20's going to the Stockport away game just after we got relegated, why should they get preference when a 'big' way game comes up?
-
It could be good. It will be much more expensive for those of us not living in Southampton (a bus from London would make sense) but on the other hand, it might put off all the burberry cap crew that hardly every go to away matches and are only going to cause trouble. This will free up a few extra tickets and maybe I will have a chance of going.

I honestly did not know if it was real or a comedy mockumentory ala the office for the first 20 minutes. One thing is for sure, staff are much softer than when I was at school. Teachers need much more power to gain respect from the snotty little buggers answering them back.
-
This for me too but put Stoke at home to Arsenal, they never cope well with that. Love to see Arsene Winger having a moan about his players getting tackled and not being aloud to just take the P1ss out of the opposition.
-
If I lived in Southampton I would go but as I don't I won't. It will be Dave Merrrington telling me how important the first goal will be, then the next after that, until someone gets a 3 goal lead, all the way for me. I think the league cup should be free to all kids from the local schools, at least for one stand. I know their constant noise will make it crap for everyone else (like an under 21 international) but at least it will help reduce the glory hunters. Nothing competes with going to a real game to get kids to support a team. It beats sky sports every time.

The problem we found against Leicester in the first half is that they played very high up the pitch and boxed us in. I know we like to play out from the back but when you have a really quick forward, a ball in behind now and again pushes the other team back and gives you space to play in. When De Ridder came on, Samba looked in trouble, it helped us to play a bit and push on. In the first half I remember thinking that if we do break, Lambert and Connolly would not have the pay to really make use of the space behind Leicester. So, in a word Yes a top quality fast young forward would come in handy now and again. This is especially true when playing teams that play with a high defensive line.

Also remembering Kaiser Soze's previous good authority statements as well.

That's all very well if you are leaving your house in your hooligan hive (rural village) near Southampton. All you have to do is get your best Burberry cap on, say good bye to your treacle then jump on the naughty bus. Your day out will then just be a few hours. However, no everyone lives in Romsey or similar, some of us (hardcore) travel from miles away. If we have to leave the house at 6:30 or earlier we may need a snack before kick off. When the game finishes at 3ish and we have to face the blue few if we haven't eaten all day we will not be on full form. An army marches on its stomach. Come on Turkish, either you are leading this army into battle or you are not.
-
You're quite right. Turkish what should we put in our packed lunch boxes? Would it be better if we started a separate thread about this?
