I had a mate who became a copper and he really changed. Went from having a good sense of humour to being really serious. He was still a bit interesting to begin with as although he wouldn't joke around anymore, he'd tell you stories of arrests. However, after a while he wouldn't even do that (probably against the rules). Then he just became plain boring.

I think it's "He a kn ob, w ank him off" Something to do with the promotion bonus I assume. -
Bit of a dusty bin tenuous link. The song also mentions boys with big bones, does this support that position as the players we will play against in the prem will be bigger? And as it is about a stripper, well we all know about prem players.

I could have predicted a similar story was behind your post, which is why I said that it depended on position and perspective. The experience of an English man in the forces when meeting a load of blue neds would be very different from a young catholic boy from an estate meeting the same people and the same is true the other way around. When I was in Argentina, the welcome I got was very different when I said I was from Scotland than it was went I said I was from England (I am from Glasgow but grew up in Southampton). It does not mean the people there are either angels or monsters just that they have preconceived conceptions. I'm sure your experience up there would have been different if you were up there with some Celtic fans. As I said, idiots and good people on both sides, it would be stupid to believe otherwise.

You supprise me. Do the orange men not march past your barracks then? Trust me, it works both ways depending on your position and perspective.

How interesting, you should make a league table of likes and dislikes, post it in a blog and send us all a link. Something to look forward to until the football starts again eh?

Knew it wouldnt take long for this to turn into a sectarianism sh!tfest. Which by the way works both ways with idiots and good people on both sides.

Charming Man in not liking Lennon and spouting anti Celtic crap shocker. Who would have thought it? He's out of control, lock him up. He'll be telling us what to wear next!

Dune & Co must be taking a run up to this one with another great joke about tarmacking your drive way and the SPL being the same standard as a pub league. I can't wait for some more fantastic insight, up to our knees in fenian blood etc etc

The music at QPR somehow fits. Probably the only place in the country I would say so.

I've had a few conversations with him on twitter, he is actually a good guy. I am not too sure about his business acumen but he does want to save the club and realises the sins of the past (which is rare with the skates).

Burn him, He's a witch! -
Agree, I honestly couldn't hear my brother speak before the game and he was sitting right next to me. It is especially bad though at key moments. The fans are on the pitch, the players are shaking champagne, lets play a song about a transsexual called Chelsea by a band from Scotland. FFS

I think the greyness of Glasgow will help his eyes hold out for another year or so. His love of the fans (the same love of the fans that kept Le Tissier and Kelvin here - the kind of fan love that wears tight jeans and shopping and I don't mean Turkish) will mean that anyone else but Glasgow Rangers will not be in with a shout of acquiring his services.

That's what I said..... Kind of

I think his wife is from Glasgow and he (read she) wants to go back there. It would also be a nice place for him to finish up as he could probably play until he is 40 up there and they love a hard tackling nutter. I expect Joey Barton to end up playing for Rangers as soon as they sort out their finances and are free to over spend again.

Gatuso has said he wants to return to Rangers, this link could have legs.

Haha I get your point but really? Let's tell one of the founders of democracy that they can't vote anymore? I dont think so. Tell them clearly that if you vote this way, this will happen - yes Tell them that democracy is dead - no
-
Agreed. The 'core' of the team is the key to staying up.

Are we going back to the Romans, the Vikings, the Normans here? Just when does being 'British' start from in your book?

As I said, relaxed freedom of movement but not total. I think that they/we should have more relaxed rules than non EU countries to study in each others countries and it should be easier to get work visas, if you can bring something to the economy (both them coming here and us going there). I also agree 100% about NZ, Australia and Canada.
-
Strangely, once again Dune I almost agree with you. I would also have relaxed (but not total) freedom of movement.* *all of this has nothing to do with towels on sun-beds or Prussia.

I think I used to play darts with the bloke on the left.
