Firstly, it takes something away from your point if you quote me and then edit the quote. It no longer becomes a quote, to quote the Libertines "your like a journalist, you cut and paste and twist your (or my) words." Secondly, I did not say you were universally unpopular, just that a large number of people using different forums, including twitter find you annoying. Therefore, as well as people trying to not jump down your throat, you should adjust your style and not jump down their throat. At the risk of being insulting, for a while I thought you may have asperger's syndrome as you display many of the characteristics (I honestly do not mean this in any negative way). I then found out you are a teacher so realised that correcting people and talking down to them, comes as second nature . I as I am sure many others do, find some of what you cut and paste to be interesting. You research places we can not be arsed to and then post it on a public forum. I do however expect you are a lot more mouthy from behind your pc/smart phone than you are in 'real life', otherwise you would be in conflicts everyday of your life. To answer your question, yes, If you give it out, you should 'roll with it' when you get it back.

As I said, different people have different opinions on where the line is. We could just go with the forum rules but then again when you pull people up with a sarcastic response, you would have to be infracted. The forum rules don't completely work as mods can't be expected to read every post on every thread. I don't think it is right you should be outright abused but on the other hand, you post on other forums (and twitter) and seemed hated by some on there as well. Maybe you should take a look at yourself and see how you can be less annoying.

The bigger we get, the more plastics and tourists we will get. You don't think Man Utd sell out to 70k+ of hardcore fans from the Manchester area do you? I know I have been to a couple of grounds of teams I don't support as there was a decent match on and the ticket was free (corporate usually). We have about 16k-24k hard core fans. This has been proven as it is how many turned up for nothing games in league 1. If we start getting higher than that, then I will be happy but don't pretend these are new hardcore fans that have just been working away for the last few years.

I agree but I there are a couple of points you are skipping over here. 1) MLG is a very good source of information and does cut and paste very well. However, he does set himself up for some stick and a bit of what's been called 'geek baiting' as he has been in the past quick to correct others with a sarcastic response. He has always been the first to jump on a poster who made the mistake of mixing up Davis with Davies or Adkins with Atkins with a "who is that" comment. He therefore must expect to get a bit back. 2) This forum is mainly read by men who are football fans and therefore there should be a bit of banter and a laugh. Although everyone has a different opinion of where the line is and when it has been crossed, we are in danger of having a boring sanitised all seater forum. There has to be space for a bit of fun.

I wouldn't be surprised if the queue at the megastore were just fabricated so that they could walk him past the shop showing how popular we are. A kind of studio 54 tactic just with less tight gold pants with disco flares (bar one dream stamping poster of course).
