Few and far between unfortunately - certainly players who can boss midfield too (which is what we really need -along with every other club) are at a premium. Can't remember the last time we had a 'midfield general' actually (Jimmy Case?)

There were at least another 20 or so in that stand with us. As the game was such a stroll we amused ourselves by playing spot the Saints fan for most of the 2nd half. -
Spot on, MotM in my opinion (closely followed by Connolly). Thanks very much to the turnstile bird who let us in for 20 quid. Sat down 5 seconds before Lallana scored and did very well to restrain ourselves. Saints end very loud from where we were sitting.

Izmir in Turkey. Went to see England in WCQ (1993). The terraces were crumbling rock which gave 40 000 crazed Turks 90 minutes of ammunition to lob at us. I had a half time kebab which gave me the ****s too.

Alan McLoughlin - remember being really excited at spending that much money on a player. There was no way he couldn't be brilliant.

Went to America v Chivas at the Azteca (Mexico City) - 106 000 there - noisy. The police wear balaclavas and carry big guns in Mexico.

Found out on train up from Euston. Went to Stockport v Macclesfield. Friendly locals and decent ale. Still went in away end though. Some bloke from Ashes to Ashes was in there and we celebrated every goal with style.

I teach physics. Did a science-based degree and then a six month physics enhancement course. This course is offered at various places around the country and you should get funded to do it (although you'll have to be offered a place on a PGCE course first). The enhancement course takes you up to first year undergraduate level so don't worry about doing an A level.

It's an insanely busy job. For the first few years you'll probably be doing 12 hour days plus a long day at the weekend. There is ALWAYS something to do so you need to know where to draw the line (and try not to feel guilty about it).

I can confirm there are at least six inches in Brighton. And still falling. By the time I wake up it might be eight etc etc.

Large swathes of that central bit (Glasgow across to Edinburgh) are genuinely awful. Glasgow's alright if you've got the cash to live in the nice bits. The Highlands and Western Isles are lovely.

Forest away - Mickey Evans scoring twice to virtually keep us up (and send them down I think) - quality away trip. Swindon at home - 4-2 aet - Matty freekick in League Cup Andy Ritchie/Roger Milford Barry Horne v Bolton - can someone please post a clip? Terracing Norwich away in quarters - cheating **** Robert Fleck Beating United on pens and getting lashed in Manc afterwards Walking onto the terrace for a night game and seeing that vivid green pitch 5000 Saints fans singing Alan Ball's red and white army for 15 minutes solid prior to Matty popping in that freekick - last day of season at WHU - pitch invasion carnage Matthew Le Tissier Sitting in the Corner Post playing pool all afternoon instead of going to the game (cheese and onion rolls) Convincing the steward my car needed moving and then going for a cheeky half time pint.
