  1. BOOOOOORING! How dare we all be excited by the first local Derby in five years! Give it a rest NC.
  2. no thanks. cheers for the offer though.
  3. And there is the main point. I completely disagree. Personally I think that 9 wins from the last 16 tells the true story of how we are doing in this league. Clearly the arguments come down to whether or not you think its reasonable to include the first ten games when judging our progress.
  4. I appreciate that.... But I think this helps chart our progress without those first ten games "muddying the waters", so to speak, for those who are worried about how many points we are picking up.
  5. Reading the arguments on here tonight, I wondered how a table would look if we ignored those first ten games where Pardew was still sorting out the mess he had taken on and trying to get players bedded in etc. I think a lot of the problems with people being dissapointed with our league position actually still stems from those first ten games, and I think Pardew really had his work cut out at that time. So here it is, haven't bothered with goal difference but here are the points scored since the start of October... Norwich - 47 Swindon & Millwall - 32 Saints, Leeds, Colchester & Charlton - 31 Huddersfield - 27 MK Dons - 25 Carlilse - 22 Brentford, Yeovil, Leyton Orient - 21 Hartlepool, Southend, Exeter, Brighton - 19 Bristol R, Walsall, Tranmere - 18 Gillingham - 17 Wycombe - 14 Oldham - 11 Stockport 5 So it's only really Norwich who are racing away from us. Apart from that, since Pardew got the team sorted out we have kept pace with all the front runners. Personally, I'm pretty happy with that.
  6. Anybody who thinks that Lambert is even close to the player Beattie was for us is absolutely off their rocker. Don't get me wrong, Lambert is amazing for us in this division, but if we had the 2002/2003 James Beattie in our current team he would be absolutely destroying everybody. Mentalists.
  7. Wasn't that just because they were all ****?
  8. So will they open the bars in the ground or is that just naive of me?
  9. YES!!! Get in there! I am going away on the Sunday and whilst I would have still made the game I would not have been able to have a few beers and would have had to go straight after. Now I can make a day of it. Awesome.
  10. They should have waited and desperately tried to fight it until the deadline for this season has just passed. Lunatics.
  11. I'm not Ponty but I'm pretty sure I've heard Brundle say they're banned.
  12. FFS! Apologies for the oncoming rant. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/81069 I was genuinely looking forward to qualifying sessions on soft tires and low fuel loads. Instead they've introduced another random element to try and "spice things up"! Just leave them to bloody well race so whoever is quickest over one lap gets pole and whoever is quickest over 70 laps wins. I don't want to know that Button would have been on pole if he had used the soft tires, if he was quickest I want him to actually be on pole. Along the same lines, I don't want see the quickest driver/car back in 10th place because the safety car came out when it was completely unnecesary just to "spice things up". It might make for some exciting TV but it's completely artificial. I always hated American racing as they did whatever they could to ensure a close race, and it frustrates me that F1 has gone that way. I know people find F1 boring without all that stuff but as you can tell, it winds me right up.

  15. Just got mine. Didn't really think I would need one for L1 but delighted to have one on its way to me now I've been proved wrong.
  16. Disagree. If we lose then we just lost to a Prem team, a bit gutting but hardly earth shattering and I really don't think that would affect our confidence. But if we win.... Confidence soaring, morale boosting. We have nothing to lose, Pompey are on a hiding to nothing. Thats what makes it such a brilliant draw.
  17. There are many types of fatigue I agree. Its just that you can't compare them with eachother. No need to resort to name calling, dicknose. If he had come out and complained that he was tired you might have a reason to give the "try working a proper job" blah blah line... But given that he has not said anything, it's just a few people on here guessing that he might be tiring, you are well wide of the mark. It's still a stupid argument anyway.
  18. What a load of rubbish. A professional sportsperson needing to give their body a rest from the relentlessness of their profession is not comparable to you and your full time job and kids. Get a grip.
  19. I don't particularly go for the whole argument that it will take a 'big club' like Liverpool going into Admin for football to take notice. Leeds were a massive club (CL Semi Finals etc) but when they went into admin nothing happened. Nothing changed then and I don't think anything would change if Liverpool went under.

    FAWM

February Album Writing Month. http://www.fawm.org I shall be taking part as a welcome kick up the arse to get something recorded. I reccomend it to any slightly lazy music makers such as myself.
  21. Baj, I have to agree with the others. Hitting the notes wise I thought you were pretty similar, but your voice has a much better tone to it.
  22. Ok, and how many does Lambert have from his half a season with us so far?
  23. I would just like to say how refreshing it is since getting Lambert to finally feel like we might take advantage of free kicks around the box (and further). When was the last time a saints player scored more than 5 free kicks in a season? I remember Bale coming close a lot but don't remember him scoring that many for us before he went to Spurs. Was it Le Tiss or am I missing somebody.
