  1. I am assuming the 'quality' comment was from somebody assuming we were talking about Hull's Stephen Hunt? In fact, just re read and they even posted to say that.
  2. I got it today and really enjoying it, takes me back to the old days a bit of being able to complete a season in a few hours, it is cut down but it's perfect for the platform and still in depth enough to feel like you are not just clicking continue constantly.
  3. Whilst I see the point you are trying to make, I don't agree. It all fits in with the winning mentality we are aiming for at the club. I think it has been refreshing hearing Saints management aiming high for once rather than being cautious with their targets in order to cover their own backs. I suspect if Pardew hadn't "banged on" about reaching the play-offs, the players would not have put in the mighty late effort they did in order to try and get there, and the season would have petered out about 2 months ago. Of course, we will never know for certain but that's my take on it.
  4. Stuck at work, anybody know where I can get a decent stream of this game? Probably going to be a shocking match but you never know...
  5. and be slated for a "lack of ambition".
  6. £450 for my ticket in 2003, which was especially hard to take as I had been to 14 home games but the club didn't have them all on record. Still, was a good day despite the defeat.
  7. I would like to see him get a job as the national coach for India. McLaren with an indian accent would be brilliant.
  8. Pompey going down with no money in the bank ;-)
  9. I think you're all being a bit harsh, sure he's not ideal but with a season under the guidance of Paul Wotton I'm sure we could turn him into a league 1 player.
  10. Exceptional circumstances though. They will definitely release one.
  11. I have a feeling that Cortese is about to find out what a bunch of whinging little girls we have in our fanbase :-)
  12. You talk as though the overcrowding is entirely down to immigration, which is ridiculous. Bloody immigrants taking our campsites.
  13. Pretty sure they release one every season.
  14. I actually think Brown would've been better off standing by what he said, than trying to smarm his way out of it.
  15. I think it is a mistake to assume that two up front is automatically a more attacking or confident formation. 4-5-1 can be a more attacking formation than 4-4-2. As you say, two up should provide you with more specialist finishers but if it produces less chances then what's the point.
  16. You really think that potential immigrants will be thinking "oh good, so if I manage to sneak into Britain and hide in the shadows for 10 years they might make me a citizen, sounds like a good deal, when's the next boat?". Come on, the Tories and Labour hide behind this line of 'we will deport them all' because they basically have NO plan for dealing with existing illegal immigrants. We are not going to be able to deport them all, that is just pie in the sky stuff. Basically the alternative is to leave them be as illegal immigrants, which just sends out the same message anyway, that anybody can come here and blend in illegally and we wont do much about it. The theory that a one off amnesty would encourage more illegal immigrants than if we just ignored it is, in my opinion, completely flawed and has no basis in common sense.
  17. No you're right, let's just continue to sweep the issue of hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants under the carpet. As it happens there is already a 14 year rule in place in this country anyway, I don't hear the Tories saying that they are going to abolish it. Paragraph 276B of the Immigration Rules currently state: Requirements for indefinite leave to remain on the ground of long residence in the United Kingdom 276B. The requirements to be met by an applicant for indefinite leave to remain on the ground of long residence in the United Kingdom are that: (i) (a) he has had at least 10 years continuous lawful residence in the United Kingdom; or (b) he has had at least 14 years continuous residence in the United Kingdom, excluding any period spent in the United Kingdom following service of notice of liability to removal or notice of a decision to remove by way of directions under paragraphs 8 to 10A, or 12 to 14, of Schedule 2 to the Immigration Act 1971 or section 10 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 Act, or of a notice of intention to deport him from the United Kingdom;
  18. Exactly, so standing CAN be safe. What you said originally was "Standing at football isn't safe", but you have then given an example of one way in which it is much more safe. So the point of the debate is trying to find ways in which standing can be both legal AND safe, which I think is entirely do-able. Although I know the fact that the Lib's are the most supportive of a debate on this issue must go against the grain for you , surely opening it up to review can only be a good thing.
  19. It's really not. It's a way of dealing with immigrants who have been here over 10 years, who we have little or no chance of deporting anyway. It's a case of admitting things are far from good but actually starting to deal with it rather than ignoring it. I don't buy into this theory that it will encourage more to come over here, it will be seen for what it is, a one off gesture to clean up some of the mess.
  20. You are talking about standing on old style terraces. The debate should be about ways of MAKING standing safe, which is entirely possible. The entire Northam stands at home games and I have never once felt unsafe.
  21. Dune, you conveniently appear to have missed my request to back up your earlier claims. Find me an example of the Lib Dems saying there will be an 'open door immigration policy'.
  22. ...and I am sure you presented these policies to her in a fair and unbiased way to help her decide. Find me an example of the Lib Dems saying there will be an 'open door immigration policy'.
  23. It is so nice to see good players come here and still improve, rather than the past few years when they came here and gradually got worse and worse.
  24. They're not interested in going public, they've already had the press botherig them since the list came out and they're trying to run a business. If they got themselves involved with 'going public' about the fact they're not owed anything the phone would probably not stop ringing and ultimately they've been paid long ago so are steering clear.
  25. Would love to but not really my place to do so.
