  1. It simply wouldn't have worked, even with both parties they still wouldn't have had a majority. A minority coalition would have been a nightmare. In my opinion it was either a case of a coalition with the tories, or leaving the tories to form a minority government.
  2. Wow, Gordon in 'entirely missing the blatant dry humour' shocker.
  3. Sure, I work in IT myself and actually do agree. It SHOULD be easily possible. But I would bet my life on any attempt to computerise the voting system being a complete and total f*ck up.
  4. Before I start, let me just say that MLT is my hero. Love the guy. Legend. Genius. But.... At the end of the day I reckon MLT would be the first to admit that if you dish it out you have to be prepared to take it back. He said of Cortese "He has handled this issue very poorly. He should be grateful that Alan Pardew wants to stay and work here." Now if somebody said that about me, I would feel well within my rights to respond in kind, regardless of who they were.
  5. Didn't we used to have Sky, before we got into financial trouble? This would be good and I would be much more likely to head to the ground earlier if the beer was good and there was football on.
  6. I really don't agree with people who say we play mostly hoofball. Sure, the direct approach has been used at times this season, but we've also played some great stuff on the deck.
  7. I think if I was Cortese, and a former player who was involved in a failed takeover with a bunch of tyre kickers came out in the local press and tried to tell me how to do my job.... I would tell him to f*ck off too.
  8. If I was Cortese and I read that I would sack AP just to stick two fingers up to anybody who thinks I should be 'grateful' to have AP work for me. But then again, I am a spiteful bastard :-)
  9. Was just thinking this a few minutes ago, hopefully we will have some signings or something to talk about soon.
  10. Do people really think NC would sack AP just because they're not best mates? Grow up people this is business not school.
  11. I would be inclined to take you and your political views more seriously if you didn't treat it like a football match. It really isn't about being on a side and getting one over on anybody else, and you clearly cannot grasp that. We all live in the same country, and we all want what's best for the country regardless of how we think that should be acheived. That is what politics should be about, not about saying ha ha my side are better than your side ha ha. No doubt you will dismiss this as the ramblings of an idealistic leftie , and perhaps you would be right, but it ****es me off that people think general elections are an opportunity to 'get one over' on whatever group they don't generally agree with.
  12. LOL at the people who think making the voting system "electronic" would improve things or make it simpler.
  13. If people turned up after 9PM then they have nobody but themselves to blame. The only problem with it is the inconsistency, some places allowing people to vote past 10PM whilst others turned people away.
  14. Lib Dems in both.
  15. He manages on enthusiasm and energy. He had neither from day one here.
  16. Completely disagree. He didn't want to be here from day one.
  17. Good point, the national totals will receive a lot more focus this time due to the voting system being raised as an issue, particularly if the order of the parties is different in terms of total votes compared to seats won. For this reason, a wasted vote won't be quite as wasted as usual this time around IMO.
  18. Ok, so that's a sort of 'quality compared to the rest of us' type comment. Basically, anybody who goes on to have any kind of professional football career was usually head and shoulders and more above anybody else at school level. I'm sure he was quality when they were at school together. Can't we just sign Hulls Stephen Hunt?
  19. :-) Either way. Let's just agree he's a c*nt and we would all have spat in his face regardless.
  20. 1. I absolutely hate the BNP, so not defending them at all :-) 2. Are you hard of hearing? It is quite clearly "How many is there of us?"
  21. I would have more sympathy if the entire party weren't ignorant tw*ts.
  22. Still not convinced, a lot of people undecided between Lib/Lab where I work, a last minute panic about the Tories getting in could be enough to see them all vote tactically. Probably not though :-)
  23. To be fair, he said "how many is there of us". That said, I'm glad they spat in his face. You just have to watch the bloke kicking the guy on the ground to see what the BNP is really all about.
  24. They should get Wogan to do election night on the Guinness. I would stay up for that.
  25. Seems odd, I reckon there are still quite a few undecided lefties who are unsure which way to go. The polls aren't always right, although I do expect the tories to get the most votes nationally, will they get the most seats though is the question with our voting system...
