  1. But everything is so much easier with hindsight mate. Yes they should have ordered more, in hindsight, but they have to make a judgement on how many they think they will sell. This is a one off shirt, it was obviously going to sell more than normal years, but predicting how many more than normal would sell must've largely been a stab in the dark. Yes it's a mistake, yes it sucks that they've run out, but calling somebody a cretinous baboon like you somehow would have been able to predict how many shirts would sell, gives me the impression that you have no idea how the real world works. So I will ask you again, how many would you have ordered if your job was to ensure you didn't end up with excess? 20'000? 30'000? 40'000?
  2. Absolutely. In the championship, we had a side full of 7/10 consistent players but nobody who was prepared to try something a bit different to create something. That was such a frustrating team to watch.
  3. You see, it's the plain incorrect stuff spouted like this that makes this sort of thing (where fans get on a players back) gain momentum. According to these match stats there were 11 Saints offsides in the entire game http://www.football.co.uk/match_reports/southampton_wycombe_wanderers_1350225.shtml#Statistics and the BBC match text mentions both Schneiderlin and Lambert being caught offside during the game, and those are just the ones mentioned. Now, I can accept that he may have been offside a lot that game, but you have taken an example from what you presumably perceive to be the worst you can remember for Waigo offsides, and you're still exadurating to try and make your point.
  4. Anybody who got on Waigo's back over offsides is an idiot :-) I think Papa suffered from being offside a lot in his first few games. As a result he got a reputation for it and it was picked up on every time he did it, when in actual fact he improved a lot. If a striker who plays on the shoulder of the last defender is not getting caught offside occasionally, he is either totally brilliant, or not trying hard enough. My point is, I would rather have a player who keeps trying to make runs and mistiming them occasionally, than one who is to nervous to ty and make them because the crowd get on their back every time they mistime it or a team mate is too slow to make the pass.
  5. Whilst I do understand the point that the club obviously underestimated demand, I just can't relate to anybody getting so worked up about this. I wanted to buy a shirt but didn't have the money when they were released. Looks like I missed the boat but I knew demand would be high and that they may even sell out, so to an extent I know I only have myself to blame really. Getting upset with the club and calling someone a cretinous baboon over a lack of forsight is pretty funny when you have shown a complete lack of forsight yourself. It was pretty obvious that demand might exceed supply.
  6. Either that or they've run out of orphans to make them, allegedly. ;-)
  7. I really hope it turns out that this WAS Pardews first choice 11 for Saturday.
  8. I agree this is important, have been worried about this. Does the phone still smell?
  9. How many would you have ordered if you were in charge then Alpine? So far we have established that they should have ordered at least 2 more :-)
  10. It's not his job to be well liked. The reason we all (mostly) hated Lowe is because he was not likeable AND he was **** at his job! Ok, so Cortese is not going to be our best friend, but as long as he does a good job and moves the club forwards, I couldn't give a damn.
  11. I do enjoy the way people take the fact that somebody works at the club to mean they are a reliable source of information. I'm about halfway up the chain of command at my workplace, which itself is not a big business, and I know nothing about personel decisions or anything like that. All you are getting passed on to you is office gossip.
  12. What a load of rubbish. That said, even if it was true, I couldn't care less whether the Football League like us or not.
  13. Well, it's been tried before and not really worked, but he has improved a lot since those days. Might be worth a try.
  14. If the burgers are edible, that will be a step in the right direction.
  15. What's that? DaveBensonPhillips in "being wrong" shocker? I simply refuse to believe that he would have failed to "do the research" before posting something.
  16. Why can't the fish ****ers just give up and die. I've had enough of this now.
  17. I heard a rumour that lots of fans want us to sign some bloke called Mark Key.
  18. Spookily similar situation to Rubens and Schumacher.
  19. It's £3 but if you want a cup there is a £1 surcharge.
  20. Pre season is a sack of crap and anybody who reads too much into the results is way off the mark, I've done it before and it's pointless. Remember the "Dutch total football" relegation season, we played West Ham pre season and were all jumping about thinking we were going to walk the league with our youngsters. Then the real season started...
  21. Only when we were doing badly IMO. If we are doing well I couldn't care less about stuff like this, if we are doing badly it will start to **** me off.
  22. Well no wonder you're skint if you bought a house in Brighton. We moved out of Brighton and back to Southampton because we just couldn't afford to buy there (well, that was the official reason I gave to the Mrs, unnoficially it meant more Saints games!)
  23. Wow, it's when I read stuff like this that I can really appreciate being a laid back sort of guy. I would hate to be as highly strung as you. No offence meant of course. I would say chill out, by all means see if you can get a free phone out of it, but don't let it make you angry, there's no point.
  24. I would be genuinely upset to see Wotton in a Pompey shirt.
