  1. This is an excellent comparison and very relevant.
  2. I love it when people say Walcott hasn't improved since he left Saints. Bloke I play football with is adamant.
  3. I assume that one about the trains is just so that if some idiot gets ******ed and causes trouble, they have something to pin on him easily. Would like to think they'd never enforce it if you're just having a can with your mates on the way to a game. That said, I don't suppose the "no drinking in sight of the pitch" law was designed to allow stewards to throw out somebody taking a couple of sips from a hip-flask.
  4. Rules are rules I suppose but that really is idiotic. Hope the club respond appropriately.
  5. What I don't understand is the people whinging about the look of it. It's not like it was a secret and they didn't HAVE to upgrade immediately. Oh look, there's a screenshot and I hate it, when that's released I'm going to upgrade to it straight away so I can really moan about how much I hate it.
  6. I like it. "Dealing in facts alone, here is my debatable opinion."
  7. Wow that makes us look narrow!
  8. I've seen him play a lot better, in a way the game did sort of highlight his limitations, but he was still one of the more consistent players in a red shirt.

  10. No system is perfect, the issues are proportionally pretty small, it's just they are often well publicised. Perhaps everybody who got their tickets without hassle should start a thread too. The real test is how well an issue is dealt with, in this case it seems not very well but in general I've always found them to be pretty good at sorting out glitches if you are reasonable with them.
  11. As much as a huge amount of credit should go to those that were involved in bringing him here, he was bought for League 1 and The Championship and I don't suppose anybody at the club really thought that four years later he would be leading the line for England in a World Cup qualifier having been the top English Premier League goalscorer. I think what people overlook is that he wasn't this good at 27. He has got better and better every year he's been with us. It's not that the elite coaches and scouts were missing anything, it just wasn't there at the time (well it was, but it wasn't showing).
  12. Yeah, I can certainly see your point. I guess that quote seemed worse in the context of the conversation that we were having. I would argue though that very, very few goals are created by a player alone, he's basically talking about wonder goals.
  13. Here are a few quote from my favourite Lambert denier.. "In international football you need to be slightly more creative than having a big striker to pump the ball up to" "Lambert doesn't have the pace or ability to create and score goals for himself which in top games strikers sometimes need to do" "Bearing in mind that over 150+ goals of Lambert's 196 career goals have been scored at the 3rd and 4th tier of English football, I don't think that makes him quality" "if he was as good as you lot seem to think, he would have played for better clubs than Macclesfield, Stockport, Rochdale etc"
  14. Don't put your whingy rant of a complaint letter on a web forum and then get all precious about it princess.
  15. If you have a point to make, make that point, say what you want, keep it professional. Don't resort to ranting, don't find 5 ways to say the same thing, don't start using capitals. Of course, you have to make sure your complaint isn't utterly ridiculous in the first place, so he was on to a loser immediately.
  16. SaintRichmond gives a perfect example of how not to write a letter of complaint.
  17. It must be so tiring being you Alps. It'll be fine, he's a strong character anyway.
  18. Sorry. I was responding to Griffo, should quoted. As for your issue, it doesn't mean that at all. It just means your son needs an account on the database that you can link the purchase to.
  19. So you tried to buy a kids ticket, despite being an adult, the club caught you and allowed you to upgrade it, and yet they are the bad guys. Whatever. You tried to bend the rules, got caught, get over it.
  20. Saints are clearly contributing, but lets not kid ourselves its out of any desire to help English football. If it didn't suit us as a business model, we wouldn't be doing it. Clubs don't give a **** about England, and why should they?
  21. 20 loyalty points, who the hell are they trying to kid? Loyalty points, lol.
  22. I would suggest that if we lose the next three games so that pochettinos record matches Adkins, he will be under severe pressure. If we win them all, their records will not be comparable.
  23. My laptop has a stutter but not my other PC so I assume it's either software versions or hardware requirements.
