  1. I think you're reading too much into it, Fry had a duty to reopen negotiations once the exclusivity ended, doesn't mean he knew Pinnacle were going to fail. It would have been foolish not to do so even if he thought Pinnacle were nailed on certainties.
  2. Maybe you're right, but personally I cannot get the image out of my head of Mawhinney grinning away with a look of pride as he announced to SSN that the FL were right all along and we would get the -10. Is it too much to ask for the FL figurehead to not actually look happy about applying a 'sporting sanction' to a club? I know it was just one interview, but since then I have struggled to view the FL as anything other than a bunch of suits congratulating eachother and taking pleasure in our demise with a 'that'll show them' attitude.
  3. I think we were doomed the minute we started trying to get out of the ten points with all the 'parent company' nonsense. I do wonder how much that must have p*ssed off the football league, and worry that now they are going to make an example of us, just like they did with Luton.
  4. On what basis do you say that, are you itk or just making it up?

    Why

Agreed. It hasn't worked out but Lynam has tried to keep the fans informed as much as possible, something he also got slated for. Ultimately he was at the command of somebody else, and that somebody must have had a bit of money for them to get as far as they did. Makes you wonder why these people allow their identities to be public at all.
  6. Ok, so say we call that 'evidence' that LC paid it. What would you have done? "No thanks we don't want the £500k even though we desperately need it to stay afloat and you are the only ones prepared to pay it, lets just let the club go under." I'm sure we would have all loved that.
  7. Show me some evidence that LC paid the £500'000 and I will agree that he should have seen that as a bit dodgy. I've only seen that written on this site. Even then the fact remains, we needed half a million to keep the club going, his hands were tied and if it was being offered he had to take it.
  8. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
  9. Wow, you really are a glass half full guy. Fair play to you. I'm sh*tting it.
  10. They are not going to replace Fry, selling a loss making business is not an easy job. He has to balance a good deal for the creditors with the needs of the buyer, and to make things worse he's got the FL putting obstacles in the way of prospective purchasers. This was never going to be easy or simple. A group came forward and paid half a million to gain exclusivity, what would you have liked him to do? No thanks you can keep your half a million quid even though we have no other firm offers and can't pay the wages without it. What a load of sh*te you lot talk at times.
  11. Niall Quinn appointed Roy Keane. That said I have given up beliving anything anybody says when it comes to Saints.
  12. I kind of thought he was just saying that to try and aid the "appeal" but really we all knew he was controlling sfc.
  13. You can't be serious.
  14. At the end of the day nobody knows. We have no idea how much money Pinnacle have, we have no idea how much money the Swiss actually have. It's all guesswork. Pinnacle do have Matt Le Tiss and at the start of the summer I would have taken a non-rich consortium scraping the money together and installing MLT as chairman.
  15. Doesn't make them less of a supporter, just makes them a bit of a w***er.
  16. I'm pretty sure I have also read him saying that Spurs was his biggest ever mistake, business wise.
  17. and there was me thinking it was going to be just one thread with hundreds of millions of posts
  18. Why is it time for them to put up or shut up? What a load of rubbish. They are spending 15 million plus to save our football club, what is wrong with you? Tony Lynam has said that they are commited to doing the deal, but they will do it on their terms. If you are ever in a position to spend millions in a business deal let me know, I would love to do business with somebody who just caves in even when terms and conditions are not satisfactory.
  19. You have no idea or evidence that is actually the case (re the -25). Stop scaremongering.
  20. Or, Portsmouth is declared an official "s**t hole" by the government and they take measures to set it adrift and push it over towards France.
  21. Three weeks ago I thought we might be gearing up for a season in the Blue Square, or worse. If the worst that happens is the players have to train on their own for a few days I will be bloody delighted.
  22. I know we all want it to happen NOW but the buyer is spending multiple millions, of course they are going to want the terms to be acceptable. Look at the F1 negotiations. 3 days ago the press were reporting it as though it was the end of the sport, but that was really just both sides taking extreme stances for negotiating purposes and today they announce a compromise.
  23. Whilst I too kind of wish they would just accept the -10 points, I can't help but feel we have all lost the stomach for a fight.
  24. It's already been discussed and not having memberships is a sensible decision.
