  1. Nearly 24 hours on and I'm a bit calmer. One word for the game. Disappointing. However I did think that tranmere rode their luck and with a blatant 'home' referee it all lead to a 2 nil home win. Their hopeful punts forward always seemed to drop to one of their own players. All their mis-kicked clearances dropped to their own players. Their second goal came from a goal kick which was signalled as a corner by the lino then he changed his mind when the ref (about 40 yards away) gave a goal kick. The penalty shout was a good one and Lee Barnard had wriggled himself into a shooting position. The ref decided he'd dived. Mental decision. Tranmere were time wasting from the kick-off and only 5 minutes were added! They are a hoof ball team and we happily dropped to their level although didn't match them in its effectiveness. Main offenders for me yesterday were Richardson, Harding (probably the worst free kick I've ever seen) Chaplow and Jaidi. All poor. davis little to do but what he did he badly. A bad day for us and after watching us massacre Oldham 10 days ago I am now worried about humilation on TV on Saturday. Do I feel better after that? Not really.
  2. I'm on the bus and want to get in the building.
  3. The last game in my hat-trick of games. So far I've seen 6 goals with none conceded over the last two games. Hoping for a good resounding 0-3 win.

Same lino also missed a blatant offside when he was miles behind play and Westcarr broke away. If they'd have scored from that I'd have been livid!
  5. How the hell did that mad scamble not end in a goal where Guly was lying on the ground trying to kick the ball in? How did three Oldham players miss an open goal (ish) just before half-time? A pity AOC had one chalked off as he looked onside from where I was sat Great night, sore throat today and grinned all the way home. Hello to the three Saints lads in a silver Pug on their way back to Burnley. Get in!!!!
  6. Oldham Weather watch: Tuesday night Becoming cloudy and breezy with outbreaks of rain spreading from the west. These initially light but becoming heavier and more persistent later. Also a risk of hill snow at first. Also mentions possibility of fog from 9pm onwards.
  7. Next round. Home tie against anyone or if it's away Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, Burnley or Everton just so I can go! Well done Saints. Now just gotta find some Blackpool fans at work as I'm sure their JCL fans will have crawled back into the woodwork again! 9 changes for them but 8 for us. Well done Guly now sign a permenant deal with us please! Thank you Adam too.
  8. Hello Eric, I guess I'm one of the types you describe. I'm Irish by birth and when school friends chose either Liverpool or Man U I chose Saints (thanks Mr Keegan!). I have lived and worked abroad while in the RAF and currently live in Wigan. I have no affinity to Southampton the City and my only allegience is to SFC though I love visiting the City and when I drive past the 'Welcome to Hampshire' sign I always feel, spiritually, that I'm home. I've found over many years of supporting Saints it is me who is embarrassed when asked about which team I support as people naturally assume I'm from the South Coast. However I have never had my loyalty to Saints questioned by another Saints fan and have always been warmly welcomed at home games, away games and in the street by my fellow Saints fans (not sure what point I'm trying to make with that statement!). Bumper few weeks for me as I'm at Oldham away, Notts County home then Tranmere away. COYS
  9. Speaking to a Blackpool fan who says "Anyway I think your lot will win as we all think we'll be putting a 2nd team out as we have so many cancelled league games to play"
  10. Nicely done Saints. Now come on Swindon do us a favour and equalise!
  11. Rudolph Skacel.................oh
  12. I disagree. last nights Carling Cup match between the Hammers and Man U showed that a motivated side can out-play a side that has had wholesale changes thrust upon it. we have home advantage, we're (currently) reasonably well placed in league 1 and we should play with our first team. I feel Blackpool will be looking to stay in the Prem and the FA Cup will be a side issue they'd rather not have. I'm not saying it'll be easy as Holloway seems to get something extra out of his players but we have nothing to fear from Blackpool.
  13. Alex O-C running at Stephen Crainey........yep I wanna see that! Fonte v Euell....only one winner there. Lallana v Blackpool....bring it on!
  14. A home draw against a side that everyone on here goes 'meh' about or an away draw against Preston North End. Win and keep winning!
  15. I listened the FA Cup first round game against Shrewsbury via radio Solent. They repeatedly said that the FA cup games are available for free unlike League ! matches where you needed to subscribe to Saints Player. I shall be tuning in, via internet, this afternoon at 3pm.

  17. Not sure if this will be live text feed or live commentary. http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/8681485.Follow_Albion_at_Southampton_HERE/
  18. I don't doubt Jaidis positioning etc. what worries me about him is that he always seems too casual on the ball and he regularly gets caught out. With Fonte and Jaidi in the centre of our defence we should be able to cope with anything League One can throw at us however I still have my doubts due to the big Tunisians slightly lackadaisical approach.
  19. Swop Seabourne for Jaidi and I'll be happy with that team. You may disagree as I'm fairly sure you're not a fan of Dan
  20. From what I've heard round here Chaplow considered himself a bit of a big shot while at Burnley however several months training with the PNE Academy lads may have just changed his outlook. I'm sure I can find out what he was on as a few work colleagues went to their fans forum the other night and apparently players wages was freely discussed (though whether Chaplows was as he is a soon to be ex-North Ender)
  21. Personally I don't think we need anyone. AO-C plays there and we could always swap Lallana over and bring Dickson on. Butterfield could also start on right wing if necessary if a game is past Alex's bedtime. Glad Puncheon has gone up a division rather to a rival and I think someone, somewhere will get the best out of him.
  22. I work up north with loads of PNE fans and they've been told their club has to cut the salary bill by nearly 50%. Quite a few PNE players are on their way out the door with quick sales etc organised. Chaplow was rumoured to be one of the ones on 'big' money. Chaplows exit won't cause too many ripples with their fans as they have far bigger things to worry about!
  23. Two main worries about the Posh game for me (1) After the thumpings they've received recently they'll come for a 0-0 and we won't be able to break them down and (2) Gary Johnson will get potted/fall on his sword this week. I looked at the stats for the 1-5 thumping by Charlton and Charlton only had 4 shots on target the whole game (plus a penalty) so had a 100% strike rate.
