Not long back. I'd agree with this assessment. Guly looked disinterested and the whole team (first half) seemed very casual on the ball and Burnley were in their faces every time. We upped the tempo about 5 minutes after they scored and we looked very dangerous. When adam missed two headers I felt it just wasn't going to be our day. Also Lallana should have gone down under the defenders pressure for a penalty right at the end when through on goal although I think the ref wouldn't have given it even he'd sliced Adam in half. I would say an off day and it'll be back to normal very soon! Still top of the league and havin' a laff.

From talking to several PNE fans they seem to want out of the Carling Cup and to concentrate on the league. Phil Brown has rotated his squad for the Carling Cup game against Charlton and they out-played a (much changed) Charlton. It looks like he'll do the same. They are doing okay in League One at the minute but they have a fragile defence and they are hoping that Adkins rests Lambert & Lallana.

Just spoke to a Burnley supporting mate and he said the fans are starting to turn on the board and the manager. He said that a lot of fans left after half-time in last weekends home defeat by 'Boro and when he left with ten minutes to go (he said he'd never done that before) the stadium was 2/3rds empty. They have a Carling Cup match at home to MK Dons this week followed by an away trip to Peterboro'. So they could be ripe for the talking and my mate says he looked on the fixture list for the next winnable game for Burnley and thinks it could be in December against Doncaster! On a side issue it's Ladies Day at Burnley for the Saints game so before anyone gets excited about a load of ****ed up women this is Burnley we're talking about here and getting ****ed up is what these women are bloody good at!
