  1. Possibly Millwall had the game played on a rutted pitch to inhibit Saints passing play? A dubious penalty and a handling error from the keeper all, it would seem, contributed to the defeat. These things happen.
  2. The lad at Chelsea? I like the cut of his jib. I reckon we could knock the rough edges of him and turn him into a superstar.
  3. Thanks for the report GITR. Do you think Hatch is better than Lloyd James?
  4. White injured in tonights Reserve match http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11219
  5. Me & the missus are going. She's not seen us lose.......mind she's only seen us narrowly squeak past S****horpe this time last year but hey like Saints she's going for two wins in a row.
  6. If we didn't I'm sure the Columbus Crew (I think) team he played for before us will. Like an earlier poster stated probably the Stern John deal will negate any sell on fee.
  7. Are you Private Pike?
  8. Everton away I think it was? I'm fairly sure it was on Sky too and finished 0-0. I can barely remember except I had the mother and father of all hangovers that day.
  9. Hard working but nothing spectacular. He had an air shot about 6 yards out which led to a mini goal mouth scramble. He was well supported by the travelling fans and, in my opinion, a welcome boost to our striking ranks.
  10. This is beginning to sound like the old Rasiak argument "Apart from scoring goals what else does he do?"
  11. *Ahem* 521
  12. I was very impressed with Saeijs today. Odd seeing a tall lanky bloke with the No.5 shirt on again but he played some neat football, looked confident on the ball and cleared up virtually all the balls that were delivered his way. He only made one error that I could see when he let the ball run past him and Cureton nipped past and had a shot blocked by Davis (MOTM). Saejis made a couple of clumsy looking challenges but they must've been ok as the ref blew up for virtually every bit of contact yet let these go. A real win ugly today.
  13. Yes. No link as I forgot to copy it and my lunchbreak is just about ov....
  14. My gaffer (A Man U season ticket holder FWIW) was very complimentry about Davis and Perry who he thought were both outstanding. He said we played some very neat football but with no cutting edge inside or around the box. He said had Smiths standing foot not slipped just as he shot then it would have been goal bound. Whether it would have got past Van de Sar is another thing. He felt we were unlucky but more players of ours impressed him than he thought would. Mind you he thought Lancashire could develop into a really good centre half!
  15. Hmmm I read in the build up to the match that Ferguson had told his mis-firing strikers to 'run riot' against us. So when they didn't he actually had told them to not humilate us because we were a youthful team! Think the Firey Scot had under-estimated Super Kelv!
  16. Me + Son
  17. Hmmm that must have been interesting. waiting to go into the AGM while a (possibly) ranting person is frog-marched out!
  18. Think he's now the keeper at Ballymena in N.Ireland
  19. Nick, the way I heard was that Tyler said that Jason Euell was fit but left out of the squad. He then said Jan said some of the more senior players weren't on the same wavelength as the younger players. I took the comment to not be personally directed at Euell but all the 'senior' players.
  20. Isn't this game also linked to th FA Cup game in January? Would expect to see about 24K but would love to see 28k+
  21. Agreed. Was at the match today and that's Burnleys unbeaten run at home now stretched to 14 in a row. For those saying that Burnley took their foot of the gas in the second are talking crap. In the first half their defence looked just as shaky as it was in the second we just didn't manage to capitilise. two goals from errors from normally error free blokes. saints looked good going forward in the second half and the reason Burnley had a few opportunities was due to us really going for it. Down? yes I am. Out? Certainly not. Oh and Euell played up front in the first half and moved back into midfield where he was much more useful.
  22. Mate at the United Aalborg game said he was impressed with Saga and was troubling Rio Ferdinand for the first half but was less effective against Evans in the second. I thought Saga did ok against United and should (if willing/able to play) be wiser and sharper for CCC sides. Hopefully we'll have the money to pay him and he won't be farmed out on loan or sold. However an FA Cup 3rd round televised match is a good way to get yourself in the shop window.
  23. We appear to do better against sides who play a similar style of football as we do. The cloggers such as Watford and Palace roll us over and no doubt teams like this will do the same to Donny Rovers and Forest. Keeping these sides below us will be the difficult part and we must win home and away against both of them. We'll need results to go our way too and obviously our home form to start.
  24. When we get the ball round their box we can just shove the palace players out of the way. All perfectly legal according to Mr Deadman.
  25. Have we signed this bloke then as I thought the loan window shut on 27 Nov?
