Christ that must have been some shock - I know it was for me! Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal etc. etc. - if only we'd known we could have prepared differently. I was so sure we would be facing Grimsby, Carlsile and Bury! This demands a rethink - Adkins OUT!

I'm confused - you seam to be saying two opposite things at once - am I missing something?

Southampton Player Trivia: Anyone know any pointless facts?
Aardvark replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
If "pundit" Alan Shearer were twice as funny, he'd be a whole wit. -
Well I think everyone should read this post as it adds so much to the discussion. I must remember to add my comments to all the other threads upon which I have no opinion - just for balance you understand.

The happy coincidence for Southampton was that exactly at that time, 2009, when he had gone to the dirtiest, had entered with football lovers Markus Liebherr a wealthy Swiss businessman of German descent stage. To Portsmuff?

I watched the opening game of last season in a bar in Turkey - a real dampener on that holiday! The whole team who started that day are still at the club, now venturing into the Premier League. Meanwhile Plymouth have just managed to escape relegation to the Conference - what a dramatic change in such a short time! http://www.plymouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/stats.asp?a=208046 PS: The first game of the previous season in League One: Norwich 1 Colchester 7 !!

So when exactly do we get "butt ****ed" by Cardiff?

If we win tomorrow: Beating West Ham at home If we lose: The Bart show against Blackpool.

You're nuts!! You mean you'd actually miss Alpine giving his "Positivity Seminar" live on TV!!?? I'd give my right arm to see that! -

I feel like I've already heard the Adkins interview about 30 times. control the controlables.....draw a blue line under it................... -
Dear Wet Fanny, Happy Clappy............etc.........How dare you come on here with your positivity!? Come on Alpine. lacerate him with your depressing negativity!

As an engineer presumably with a capability for rational, logical thinking would you kindly explain the cause and effect linkage between Katalinic's (alleged) "arrogance" and Southampton FC (I'm assuming that the parties don't know each other) getting "butt-f*cked" in a subsequent football match? Alternatively. if you are focussing on the word "sort" in your statement - what makes you think that one individual's (alleged) arrogance on an internet forum implies the same from a (presumably) unrelated football team?
-
I have the answer!! It's, "No".
-
Hmmm - that actually would mean that we're more likely not to win than win - as the man said. Foot and shot come to mind.
-
For me that was the best performance I have ever seen from Lambert - he was superb. Constantly dropping to win the ball in the air and invariably playing in Sharp or Chaplow. Lallana almost matched him first half. Good luck to Reading, they rode their luck last night (as against Leeds - as indeed did we) but nobody flukes a run like theirs.

Last team to win the Championship after promotion from League One
Aardvark replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
OK, having re-read the OP I have the definitive answer: Queens Park Rangers. It says nothing about "successive" promotions. -
Last team to win the Championship after promotion from League One
Aardvark replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
No - it's such an impossibility that nobody's ever achieved successive promotions before. At least if they have, it must have been SO LONG ago that nobody could possibly remember it. -
I'm worried now. I've been looking at this for a couple of minutes now and he's hardly moved - obviously crocked!

Look at the banner across the top of the page - there are eight Saints legends. Not many would argue with the names on that list. I propose a ninth - Kelvin Davis. Admittedly not the greatest keeper to grace this club (Shilton and Niemi would certainly head that list), but in terms of his loyalty and influence on the team I think he deserves the highest credit. He chose to stay with us when relegated to League 1 in 2009 when others with less character would have jumped ship. He's been a huge presence in the team in the three years since then, and I for one would love to see him lead us out in the Prem. So come on mods- time for Legend number nine!

Well, how about both Reading and West Ham go into administration with massive points penalties, etc...........? Not very likely, but not a "mathematical impossibility" either - I think you'd have to agree?

Sharp was my MOM well before the first goal went in.

Sums his pathetic stance up perfectly.
