  1. :smt100 This is utterly brilliant! I honestly have no idea whether your serious (i.e. a complete moron) or taking the urine (i.e. a bit of a prat). I'm sure that either way once you've woken up you'll claim the former.:smt100:smt100
  2. Ridiculous. Very good though he's been in the last couple of games, I would say that Lambert is possibly the best player I have ever seen at 3rd division level - his touch, vision and intelligence are deserving of a higher level - I would never claim it to "without doubt" though.

Yes it is (see above), so why don't You STFU!?:smt074:mad:
  4. Uncanny! With the exception of Ella I'd pretty much mirror all of those (Highway 61 instead of Blonde on Blonde though). If I was stuck on the island with Rattlehead I'd have to throw him and his music system into the sea!:smt040

Surely anything to do with Saints' deadliest rivals is by definition "Saints related" - some would argue (especially on here) that one essential ingredient of being a Saints fan is a (un)healthy fascination with the fortunes of those poor Blue sufferers. Anyways a prophesy from Dylan circa 1965: "Look out the Saints are coming through And it's all over now Baby Blue" The Messiah has spoken! Let's hope he's righT
  6. Skybet's initial odds Strachan, G 13/8 Wise, D 4/1 Keegan, K 6/1 Boothroyd, A 10/1 Le Tissier, M 12/1 Adams, M 16/1 Shearer, A 16/1 Wright, M 20/1 Dowie, I 25/1 Bond, K 25/1 Souness, G 33/1 Hoddle, G 40/1 Redknapp, H 66/1 They are abit short Good Call!! I hope you put something on it, presumably at better than 66/1!
  7. Can we take it that the erection is no more then?:tfrag:  :-k
  8. Nearly two years. A grand total of eleven posts in that time might suggest that you value quality over quantity. The evidence suggests otherwise.:smt022
  9. Good point. A sample of about 1000 would be considered more than statistically significant. On the other hand it merely shows people's first choices - mine was Strachan who if we're to believe what we read is unlikely to be the final choice. What it doesn't show is that I (I'm merely using my own opinions as an example) would be almost as happy with Coppell or Pearson but not at all happy with Adams or that thug Wise. A more useful poll might be to list orders of preference, coupled with another poll asking who we would least like as manager?
  10. This is seriously worrying. What is this **** doing so high in the reckoning? If he's 5/1 what price Vinnie Jones, Ian Brady, Harold Shipman or even Branfoot? Sorry, the thought of Wise, who would surely rival Hoddle in the popularity relegation zone, has left me somewhat deranged!
  11. Or even Watford.
  12. That was rather beautiful. I think I'm going to cry. :smt089:smt089
  13. Talk about missing the point! Just because MLT was (arguably) the best player ever to don a Saints shirt, certainly the most naturally gifted (IMO): and just because he seems to be a top bloke - (I wouldn't really know, I've never met him and I suspect most of the "MLT=GOD" brigade haven't either)does not mean that he would offer anything in an administrative role at the club. He could easily be a great bloke and completely effing useless at the same time - I know plenty of people who fit that description! I'm not saying he would definitely be a disaster, simply that we have no way of knowing either way, and that his footballing and personality gifts shed no light on it whatsoever. As for all this "loyal servant" bolox, do me a favour! A man spends the best part of 20 years earning several times the average wage, having weekday afternoons off, PLAYING FFF...FOOTBALL!!! I'd be a "loyal servant" to almost anyone for that kind of lifestyle! I don't doubt his love for Southampton but don't tell me his whole career (or any other footballer's) was based on selfless loyalty to their club - they are more than amply rewarded. A new era has dawned - it's time to move on!:smt039
  14. Get your facts right! Meridian is NOT situated halfway between Southampton and Winchester!
  15. From the BBC this morning: "Before a deal can be completed, there are several issues that have to be sorted out, including the Football League carrying out a period of due diligence on the club's prospective new owners." How long could that take!!??
  16. If this keeps dragging on what will be the situation for those season ticket holders (e.g. me) who are away on holiday at exactly the wrong time and lose out on a chance to renew their preferred seat(s)?[-o
  17. Well if you'd actually been watching Delap, Fuller and ( until his last dozen or so matches) Jones playing at St Mary's irrespective of any prior performances, you would understand perfectly why I would be suprised at their (relative) success in the premiership. I've never heard any player receive as much abuse (most of it warranted) as Delap in his last couple of seasons. As for Doncaster's "player of the year" - I suppose you're citing that as evidence of Premiership quality are you? You may have noticed they are a run of the mill CCC side - hardly Wigan let alone Hull! I stand by all those I listed with the exception of the last few weeks of Jones. I can't disagree with Pericard and Griffit - the start of what could be quite a long list!

  19. It would indeed be an honour. Thank you very much!:smt027
  20. He's about as much of a premiership player as Martin Cranie and that defender who went on to greater things at Manchester City (name escapes me) who promptly fell off the radar. Surman would have been more than useful in L1 but he's kidding himself if he thinks he's going to set the Prem alight. There again I wouldn't have believed that Delap, Fuller and Jones would have done much there, based on the crap they dealt up down here! As the great Jimmy Greaves said, "It's a funny old game!"
  21. Well it's taken me a few hours but I've finally sussed it out! NickG AND NickH! Duh!!! Sorry for misrepresenting you!:smt115:smt105 :axe:
  22. Christ! What's your day job? weatherman? So let's review this stunning piece of insider knowledge; Surman and McGoldrick are definitely leaving this week (so you've been told), but on the other hand they may not be leaving as "things may change" I reckon I could have provided this scoop myself. PS invest heavily in the stock market today as I've heard that it will definitely go up in value tomorrow. However be careful as "things may change" so it actually may go down!:smt098
  23. Spot on. It's not so much about whether you agree or disagree with the penalty, but there is a fundemental issue of right of appeal here. To refuse it is antidemocratic at best!
  24. At those odds we should accept our fate with the 10 points rather than risk further punishment. At -10 and some investment in players c/w strong crowds we would at least stand some chance of reaching the play offs next season. Risking a starting total of -25 or -30 would put us odds on for crashing into Division 4. Take our medicine like a man, stop whingeing (nobody else thinks we have a moral case over the 10 points) and get on with restoring this clubs's prestige.
