Frazer has one of the funniest running styles I've ever seen - it's more of a waddle I rate him reasonably well actually. Seems committed in the tackle and appears to get skinned less often than Harding does on the opposite flank. Not sure that his distribution is notably worse than our other potential first team full-backs. Perhaps he's not as likely to create something on the overlap, but our right-sided midfield options are strong enough to overcome that. In general I'd say he's unspectacular but handy to have on the bus.

Well Seaborne is 24... Crikey, best wishes to whoever it is.

After what de Ridder posted on Twitter last night I wouldn't be surprised if Jos is a 'buddy' signing Still, he deserves a fair chance and could potentially do a good job for us. Or at very least be valid as emergency cover. Definitely going to sit on the fence until we've seen him in action.
-
No, I don't think it's very likely at all. It's also worth pointing out that 'normal' loans have to be completed during the transfer window - we're now in the emergency/short-term loan period and any loan agreements can only be made to a maximum of 93 days.

I think they played the first set at The Hobbit's cider festival yesterday too. I was only half-listening (in a perry-induced haze) but my ears perked up when that song started They got a pretty good atmosphere going.

It's an abomination. I even tried to picture it in different colours used as an away kit option... just no! At a stretch that design could work as a training top. Got to love the one on the far right in this pic - pretty much a rip of the current shirt!

My contract at work expires the day before that, so if it's not renewed I may pop down to punctuate the tedium of a job search

Adkins great manager and man manager we need to improve first team not squad
ant replied to Mouldy Coat's topic in The Saints
Quite. Adkins wasn't in the market for new first team players in the January window - we merely bolstered in areas that eventually proved to have required backup. When you have such initial quality in the starting 11, why would you go out and break the bank to bring in 'better'? It also comes back to the point about the winning mentality of our team and - finally - some consistency. Our players know each other's game and thrive on that. Look at the chemistry and slick buildup involved in most of our goals so far this season! Arguably more important is the number of current players that have been tied into long contracts this summer. Yes, we could probably do with a bolster of quality in a couple of key areas, but the club's shown that it won't be held to ransom. We also need to bring in players that fit into the 'Southampton way' - Cork is a prime example of early fulfilment of that. It's my belief that the current squad will see us through to January at least. That's the time to reassess. So I don't think the question is why Nigel hasn't been able to attract 'quality', but whether it needed adding in the first place. -
The one phrase that implies anything but... Nonsensical argument by the way - PCSOs take so much flak that anybody willing to step up gets the nod from me. So long as they can communciate adequately what's the chuffing problem? The nationality of the PCSO isn't relevant to the scenario anyway. Sorry to hear about the trouble, completely needless. There was certainly plenty of it about today, although I didn't realise their so-called fans had spread that far around (went to The Alex after the game and only spotted one Millwall fan on the way). You've got to hope that the police will deal more efficiently with escorting 'trouble team' supporters away from the ground in future. Just don't hold your breath.

As soon as I saw the thread I thought of that incident. Half of the time in the official site's gallery you'll see opposition defenders with a handful of his shirt or an armful of his face. It's difficult to call, but so far I think he's had more decisions go his way than in League One.
-
Wow, quite surprised to hear that opinion. I thought we were very quiet in second half - maybe it was just like that in the Northam and I inadvertently ignored the rest of the ground? There were a few moments of encouragement when we were under the cosh but generally St. Mary's felt much louder for the first 45 mins. Glad to hear that Adkins has got a realistic take on the match as per usual
-
Definitely Block 42. Phoned on Wednesday thinking there was a chance I'd be able to get the seat next to my season ticket's one but was told there were none in the whole block. Imagine it'll be a similar scenario in 40 and 41.

Would put a guess in at 27-28k. By rights it should be a bumper crowd, yes.

I can normally manage a couple of hours without food.

In before the 'quality of opposition' argument. That doesn't hold much water though - if you look at the records we've been smashing recently (most clean sheets in a season, most consecutive wins, most consecutive away wins, best start to a season since '88-89) and other interesting stats (50 points from the last possible 54 is it?) it's clearly a great run in Saints' history whatever division we're in or have been recently. Yes, there's a fantastic group of players 'in the building', but a lot of credit has to go to Nige for the way he's taken what was essentially another manager's squad and crafted it into a beast that's very much his own. Long may his reign continue!

Surely there's an option in the admin panel to disable all images which could be used while a game's on? Doing so would cause a significant reduction in bandwidth load on the server and I doubt anybody would moan if the site became usable.

Spot on, cheers fella! We must have posted a couple of fair shouts for goal of the month already

Ipswich 2 - 5 Southampton - post match fapping session
ant replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Resolve, determination; ruthless. -
Getting involved on Twitter might help ease your pain. The Official feed updates with important incidents more quickly than the BBC Sport website and there's plenty of banter to be had with other Saints fans on the #saintsfc hashtag (bit like the match threads on here but without the crashing). That's if you have Twitter already of course, probably a bit much to learn how to use it and set up an account for one evening's use!
-
Er yeah, except Connolly plays for us.
-
If it wasn't all that funny when he broke back into the first team then it certainly isn't now. As Connolly says, he's been fit for bloody ages - not to mention currently in some of the best form of his life. Daft chant, he doesn't like it, yet a pocket of mongs will continue regardless. *shrug*

Pretty much sums it up for me. Of course there'll be leaner times than we've experienced in the last 10 or 11 months, but right now it feels brilliant to be a Saints fan. In a way I guess that's amplified by how lean recent times have been - we know to lap this up while it lasts. Nige is a great fit for where the club is currently at. He's astute and switched on - can even forgive him for his cagey, cliched comments as it often helps our cause. He knows he's doing it, as evidenced by his self-referential refusal to use the phrase "in the building" during recent interviews
-
Just to clarify, it feels exactly as good after a f*ckton of booze. However shortlived this feeling may be, come on you reds!
-
Yeah sod it, let's soak up the small glories - we still know there's a fair chance this won't carry on all season! Wasn't going to bother doing much today but I think it's beer o' clock and time to head out
-
Sorry to disappoint. COYR! Hope we can capitalise on this excellent period of play.
