  1. Interested rat spotters should check out the green areas between central station and commercial road. Rat-tastic.
  2. There seem to be a lot of 5 year contracts buzzing around these days, together with talk of a new direction. It'd be interesting if the new manager was offered a five year deal too. I vote the next thread is called "final, new, new, new manager thread" and the one after that "new, final, new, new, new manager thread" please.
  3. Could anyone compose a chronological list of non-libellous and incontrovertible facts to summarise the Pompey saga for me please? I mostly kept up through the gaydamak era, and (later?) rather enjoyed that elusive chap passing the fit-and-proper persons test but it's been going on for so long now that I've become totally confused. I haven't checked all 100000 posts, so apologies if the answer is already in here somewhere. For brevity, may I suggest that any insults are merely implied. Otherwise we'll be here all day.
  4. I saw nige and a friend trying to get a taxi in islington a few months ago. His buddy nearly got run over chasing cabs but our nige - cool as a cucumber - just stood where he was et voila! one turned up. I hope he demonstrates similar cucumber-like abilities in getting himself a nice new job. Go nige.
  5. Cheers for that - I thought it was very interesting. Nice one.
  6. Soz if someone has posted this already. Thought it was interesting. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/oct/07/nathaniel-clyne-england-debut-brixton-volunteers
  7. Here's another le tissier clip for your enjoyment Cruyff turns? Take that, lallana!
  8. Has someone written 'I STILL CARE' in the sand? Cortese's handiwork, probably.
  9. Good point, that. NC always made his ambitions fairly obvious, but did ML ever say what he wanted for the club? Maybe I've just forgotten about it - I'd be genuinely interested to be reminded if he did.

  11. Red and white horizontal stripes with matching bow ties would rock. Sadly I think mlt is quoting kenn Nesbit though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Any idea how ryan gauld aka mini messi is getting along up there? Some of his youtube stuff looks awesome, though we all know how misleading that can be. The only thing counting against him is that a mini messi is a very mini thing, but I would have still thought he'd have moved on by now. I see wolves of all people were linked to him a few days ago. 15. If all is looking gloomy in the world, follow the following steps for koeman-happiness 1. If you like your managers to come from an impressive playing background, look no further than our Ronnie's playing stats. 200 goals in 600 games, all for a central defender and at top teams ain't bad. Ignore Groningen if that helps. 2. If a managerial cv is more important to you, simply ignore the wordy bits that go on about sackings and short-term tenures and look at the numbers instead. Conveniently skipping over his time at Valencia, you'll see his win percentages are impressive by anyone's standards. 3. If you're still feeling glum, check out pochettino's stats instead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mauricio_Pochettino. Pochettino: who he? Cheers! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Did our les say the preferred candidate was a top manager from Europe? I've got a brain like a sieve so could be wrong but I thought he was quite vague on that. I read it as him saying some of the applications came from people with champions league experience etc, but even then did he say whether this experience was playing or managerial? At least Tuchel has previously been touted as one of the most promising young European managers, for example here http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/mar/01/six-best-young-european-managers so I'd be surprised if they hadn't considered him. 17. Heisenberg uncertainty principle: In quantum mechanics, the uncertainty principle is any of a variety of mathematical inequalities asserting a fundamental limit to the precision with which certain pairs of physical properties of a particle known as complementary variables, such as position x and momentum p, can be known simultaneously. Where position x is Glasgow and momentum p is Heisenberg him/herself. Blah blah blah. Another way to look at it is that Heisenberg is actual physical and repeatable evidence of reincarnation. The repeatability thing is v important: i believe Heisenberg will at some time in the future be forced to regenerate again. If we could get this on camera it'd be a huge step forward not just for the southampton saints but also humanity. Big up Heisenberg. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Yup. Fraid so. I actually quite like magath as a person. He's done fantastically well at a load of decent clubs and looks a bit like penfold (as previously discussed). Don't want him at saints though. He gives me the fear. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Oh yeah. For some reason I presumed he was American and just ignored him in the betting. Me fool. Over the past few weeks I've become sadly addicted to saints-related betting fluctuations and geeky managerial stats. Ralf rangnick has some v impressive stats, it must be said. And according to wiki he used to manage viktoria backnang, which sounds good. Not even sure if it's a football club though. Sounds like a Thai hooker to me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. FWIW a mate of mine is a charlton supporter and he speaks very highly of mr reed in terms of youth development, structure, contacts etc. He thinks reed is a total liability as a manager though. It seems that the senior management (not the players) at saints have been impressed with him so far and I've still got some faith in the old fool. As long as he doesn't become manager. Now that would be bad. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Aha! I'd managed to miss the echo article somehow, so cheers for that. Even if koeman is interested, his odds still seem ridiculously short to me though. But what do I know. Ach! As long as it isn't mclaren I'll be happy. Or widdrington. Or Mackay.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Has anyone actually heard any solid hints or rumours about koeman joining us? - there have been loads of little tidbits about all the other contenders but I haven't heard any actually about him. Considering his odds are so short, where's all the betting money coming from? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Did any more information ever surface about Dodd and williams leaving? I kind of presumed it might be to make way for a new team coming in with a new boss - that'd at least suggest that there was half a plan in place. Here's hoping, huh. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Cheers for the Joey cole vid - the boy's some sort of genius. I saw him once. He was taller than I expected but with a much bigger bonce. Tru dat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
