FWIW My take is this. Koeman wants to honour contract, but not extend it. May be he does want the Arsenal job next Summer (and who would blame him). Saints do not want the speculation affecting the team and want him to sign or go. He may well go, but that will be because the club do not want him for just next season.

This. Also recognises the need to move players on and the importance of a youth academy. Seems an ideal fit.

FWIW I think it is less about the money and more that he doesn't want to commit to a longer contract at this moment in time. He would honour the current contract, but may be Saints want a little more commitment and have decided he can walk.

Really disappointed, if true. I still have to believe that we are a well run club and that the next manager will continue the work of those that have gone before. My Watford supporting mate says that teams have played 3 at the back in recent games against them because they play two up front. It worked for Spurs because (a) they have Toby and (b) can score. It would have worked for Newcastle too, but they just couldn't score. I suspect that we will play 3 at the back and we will lose either 1:0 or 2:1 having missed loads of chances.

Serious knee ligament injuries are very common in the NFL. While athletes can build up muscle, they can't strengthen ligaments which become the weak area that snaps first.

If I could have only one club financially implode and disappear off the face of the earth it would be Tottenham. While I also dislike Liverpool fans and believe they are as equally deluded as Spurs fans, Tottenham always has the edge with Levy. If there is one person I would like to see fail, even more than Brendan, it is that smug ****.

I do not understand why people persist with this drivel. We are an average sized Premier League club trying to live within our means. We have over achieved in the past two seasons because of shrewd signings and good coaching. We are never going to spending £10M+ on every player we buy. Spending £4-5M on players with high upside such as Soares and Juanmi seems to be part of the model of a good stable "selling' club.

I think we will play the senior squad to get into the Europa League group stage then use the kids / back-ups for the group stage matches for them to gain some highly valuable experience. We will be concentrating on the league and possibly FA cup to ensure that we qualify for Europe next season and build from there. We won't be spending big to boost the squad for the Europa League. Saints had said this repeatedly.
