Being the ever positive... no news may be good news. If they had signed nobody then they could have flipped the switch on an update at 17:01 or even earlier. The fact that they have not done this suggests (a) they have signed someone but want him at SMS in a Saints shirt for the web pic before they announce it or (b) they didn't sign anyone in time but hope to get Jaidi later tonight as a consolation prize for the fans.

Am I right in thinking that the deadline applies only to transfers from another club and that we can sign free agents like Jaidi anytime?

Seems to echo what was said earlier on Solent. I do hope it is a ruse however as I would like to see a winger and a striker, especially if Saga moves on.

TBH I heard an interview with the former President of Real on 5Live and the splurge of spending on Ronaldo and Kaka was financed from a warchest of money that the club had accumulated - around £150 million. No. But being positive and lifting the team when it is in difficulty is what the "twelfth man" is all about isn't it? I think a lot of Saints fans (for very good reasons) have become very negative about what happens on and off the field - the past four years have been very trying times. It is sad really and unlikely to help to reverse what seems an inevitable decline.

If you've got your crystal ball handy good you also tell me the lottery numbers for tomorrow. Lots of players are tipped to have bright futures - especially those that have come through the academies of Premiership teams. He could be a very good keeper (and again he may not) but it is probably too early to tell as keepers reach their prime in their 30s. It seems to me typical of some on this forum to constantly knock our own players - many of whom from the reserves have yet to have their chance.

Naive question but under ST options what does Pair mean (for example, 8 Pair) - it can't mean two tickets for under 8s as this is more than twice the price. Is it an adult plus an under eight?
