The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

+1 Well said. -
If the media boycott Saints then it will impact our brand and reduce sponsorship. While I don't particularly care what the tabloids think of my club, I think ZERO coverage is a very bad idea.

It would be nice to see another signing. Today would be my guess if they want someone to feature at the weekend - even if only on the bench. -
"You Only Sing When Your Five Up" Sung when we were 5-0 down at Goodison Park and pulled one back to make it 5 - 1. They subsequently scored a sixth. Got a chuckle from Barry Davies on MotD.

LOL. But does it really matter as his contract expires at the end of August?

You should be ashamed

It appears that Nick Illingsworth has been refused a season ticket
Ashby Saint replied to hypochondriac's topic in The Saints
I don't know Nick Illingsworth or the reason why he has not been able to obtain a season ticket. However, IF it is because the club do not appreciate his opinions / views then it is a deplorable act. It maybe how you are allowed to behave in Italy (along with bribery, corruption and overly powerful business owners) but in England we have a strong tradition of freedom of speech. -
QFT Without the speculation and the bizarre / controversial opinions there would be no need for this forum at all. For those who only want their news from the OS - stop looking at threads like this and go to the OS and hit F5 occasionally.

Oh dear. Trying to salvage something - my general point was that goals scored isn't the only indicator to use for a striker.

Looking at Tyson's stats on wiki, I noticed that he was at Reading from 1999 - 2004 - the same period as Pardew was manager. I guess that AP therefore knows what he is getting from Forest. -
TBF - I think you should also consider assists.

I'm not as optimistic as you. Although our first eleven can beat anyone in this league on a given day, it is going to be a long hard slog and I do worry that we lack depth - especially in central midfield, where it is critical to have a high-motor engine on a wet and windy night up North on a ploughed field. I'm hopeful that without any new signings we will be there or there about at Christmas and that key strengthening may be done in the January window.

Juvenile. Why can't we have a football conversation without resorting name-calling like this? Pathetic.

Looks like we missed out on Bailey too http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8226397.Strachan_bags_Nicky_Bailey/?ref=rss -
Hi there I received the subscription renewal notice a couple of days ago with a link to the payments section. However, the link requires a username / password that appears to be different to my forum log-in. Eventually I renewed my subscription by going through my account details so I think I'm sorted. However, there may be others as confused as me. Ian

Definitely 5L as I heard it at the top of the hour.

So he has signed for us? I thought we were looking to offer him a contract and that negotiations may or may not have started.

Yeah my barber is a season-ticket holder. He described McGoldrick as lazy.

I was there too that day. I'd travelled up on the official away supporters coach with a couple of friends. As I remember it, the home fans were making a lot of noise until our goal went in and then they went quiet. Rumour on the way home was that the Echo photographer had told them that Liverpool had just scored at Norwich and they were worried about that. It was priceless when some clever wag started the chant. It was Barry Davies doing the commentary. He commented about the song specifically in his usual dry humour.

High wages? He was one of the highest earners at Coventry according to the newspaper article. May be it is Saints making sure that we don't take on two many high earners - at least ones in areas where we already seem to be well stocked.

Pardew out! FFS Get in a young manager with something to prove* rather than a **** who only trades on former glories. *Oh sorry we had one of them and let him join Leicester.

AP comes across well and talks the talk. Unfortunately, football managers are judged on their results and by anyones standards (except poopey) this is a very poor start. If we don't get 4 points from the next two games then I think Pardew will need to start looking over his shoulder a bit more.
