  1. Impression i got was just another group that were in talks, only difference is these ones didn't mind their names being made known i seems.
  2. But how do you know they aren't just the front of a group and have serious wealthy backers behind them? I know they wont cos this is Saints we are talking about, but you never know..
  3. Seems to be quite a few stories coming from The Guardian recently. Wonder if someone has a contact with them and is leaking information, bit like Lowe and Tha Mail?
  4. After yet another penalty miss today, just wondered how many this is now this season we have missed? We used to be so good at pens with MLT and BT :-(
  5. Who or what are Bandai? Donation of over £1K from him/her/them
  6. Billionaires don't happen to Saints Multi Millionaires don't happen to Saints I'd settle for a millionaire if it meant Saints stayed alive.
  7. Branson via Vigin has just invested heavily in F1.
  8. If we can sell out the last 3 home games that 90,000 through the gates, which is probably the equvilant of 6 homes games based on our attendances this season. Gotta be good for the extra cash flow! Even if it's 15,000 extra per game at £15 per seat thats an extra £675,000 in revenue!!!
  9. Any idea what our players wages bill is for a month?
  10. The pledge total currently stands at £210,500 min (assuming the £5K+ put in just £5K)
  11. Only problem is we have 24 days to get takenover otherwise non of these are going to be able to happen. We just gotta pray someone, somewhere wants to buy us.
  12. £64,500 at least raised so far... if everyone donated what they said they would.
  13. Nothing we didn't already know, but we are named as one of seven clubs in financial trouble in the daily mirror today. Us and Charlton being the highest profile of the 7. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2009/03/24/clubs-are-fighting-for-survival-are-credit-crunch-takes-its-toll-115875-21223958/
  14. Think Victor Anichebe might disagree with you there....
  15. Not too sure where i was thinking of going really, just SA in general appealed. Open to suggestions of where to go, and also places to stay, what was the lodge u stayed in?
  16. Thinking of going on holiday to South Africa this year, just wondered if anyone else has been there? If so what are your opinions on the country? Any area you would recommend/avoid? Thanks in Advance
  17. Yeah stick with the winning side. Villa only used something stupid like 19 players all season, they seem to be doing alright from it.
  18. Currently in L2, so we could only be one league above them come next season. Or even playing them although they are mid table so unlikey.
  19. So who is Keith Granger? not a name i reckonise from footballing past, who did he used to play for?
  20. Managers that have been replaced since Fergie took over and Man U
  21. Peter Beagrie has writtern an aticle about us on the sky sports website. Pretty spot on in my view... It was no surprise to see Jan Poortvliet resign from his job at Southampton last week. It's easy to say he jumped before he was pushed, but to be honest I don't think Southampton could afford to push him. The promotion of his assistant Mark Wotte is exactly what everybody thinks it is; the cheap option. The only credence you can give to that appointment is that he knows a lot of this ridiculously young side from the Academy and he will have a bond with the younger elements of the Southampton squad - and that is quite a large element. Financial constraints seem to be dominating most decisions at St Mary's at the moment. I doubt the new manager will be given any latitude in the transfer market and for him it will be a case of getting on with what he's got. But as much as I enjoy watching youthful exuberance, it has been proved time and time again that you can't get by on that alone in the Championship. Southampton are a beautiful footballing side from the same mould as Swansea - but they lack the seasoned professionals, the physical strength and the goal threat of the Welsh team. I applaud the Southampton style, but I'm sure the supporters would sacrifice some of that total football to stave off relegation this year. Luck I don't think people should get carried away by the 2-2 draw against Norwich. The youngsters deserve a big pat on the back for showing the character and resilience to overturn a 2-0 deficit away from home, but I don't think that was a direct result of the new manager making changes. It was more through good luck than good management and also the fact they went out in the second half and played with no fear. But in this division it's not about how you start, it's about how you finish. Southampton will hope to build into a crescendo where they can win some games and keep their head above water. That one point in midweek stopped their opponents going more than three points ahead of them and staying within one win of Norwich will be a confidence boost for the players. It could turn out to be a very important point. The worry is that many of the teams around them - the likes of Derby and Doncaster - have bigger squads, more experienced squads and more spending power than Southampton. Even bottom-placed Charlton have far more experience in winning Championship games. Nigel Pearson managed to keep them up by the skin of their teeth last year, but I feared for Southampton at the start of the season - and at the moment my fears are proving to be correct.
  22. South Today just said Wotte is in charge til the end of the season.
  23. So why do people think Lowe will pick us up on the cheap when we go into administration? He's not got access to that kinda money either!?!?
