Gift Orban is another imo would have been a good one before he went to gent. I guess permit issues but this is where we should be using the owners multi club structure to our benefit
-
He has scored twice in the league and twice in the Cup for Reading.

Enables newspapers to run stories that aren’t out there already

Echo have an update at 10:30 tonight. Was in the written press part of the PC that is embargoed til tonight

This scar tissue rubbish is an easy excuse. The issue is we don’t have a leader on the pitch. Armstrong isn’t captain material. When you concede you want your leader to rally the troops, we don’t have any of that. Smallbone looks like he plays in 2nd gear all the time, not sure I’ve seen him break out of a jog this season. Adams can’t play as the solo forward, he’s better as the support forward but until Ross Stewart is fit we don’t have another option, but I don’t understand we we don’t try and play to the strengths of what we have available rather than just sticking to the 4-2-3-1 /4-3-3 system that doesn’t work with the personal we have.
-
My two pence worth: Adams can’t play as the solo forward Smallbone can’t play as the holding mid and Charles much better in there We lack a leader (still) We don’t actually create that much If Armstrong is to be captain then need to play him in his best role Stu Armstrong did more in his sub appearance than Aribo and Smallbone combined

Staying within our Swansea/Man City/Red Bull criteria then lol

Was listening to The Hard Truth a podcast with the Peterborough chairman and he said they Russel Martin spoke to him at a game about Edwards and how he was a fan but it wasn’t him that made the signings. Went on to say another Championship club came close on deadline day to signing but reckons thry will be back in Jan for him. West Ham wanted him too but made a silly low offer that sounded like it pissed the chairman off. also said he wants to get Rasmus on an episode as he’s a big fan of what he does.

Bit of a difference tbh. Also what then, never loan anyone out for development in case they have a good season and then get sold for big money?!
-
Ballard out on loan makes sense, he needs to start his development in men’s football and I think a season in L1 will do him good.
-
If his medical was today then I assume today he will sign and do PR photos so could be announced any time tbh I still expect he has signed a year extension with city so they protect their investment as he’s out of contract in the summer.
-
TBH on loan is a great addition. Bit odd from City perspective as he’s out of contract in the summer, half expecting him to sign a one yr extension so they still have option to sell for money next summer.
-
If not him I think we’ll use that connection to get someone in before deadline day. Just not sure who…
-
Swansea not keen on selling Wood and said our second bit wasn’t for more money just changed the payments structure. Wouldn’t over spend on him when Harwood-Bellis is available and in last year of contract. With Stephens out injured likely for a while all of a sudden a loan signing of Holgate was a wise move. I expect Fraser and new signing will be the starting wingers longer term this season with Edozie and SAA as the impact subs.

Martin on Tella "It was made in agreement (decision to train separately yesterday) as Nathan wanted to do some work despite the move probably going ahead this weekend, otherwise he would have had a few days without doing anything. "I am really disappointed Nathan probably goes. He wanted to leave, not in a bad way, but it has been rumbling on all summer and sometimes in football the nice guys don’t get what they want. "We will reinvest and replace him. Ryan Fraser is already in the building but he is not a replacement for Nathan, we will also add to the group in that position "That’s football. It’s a good deal for someone who came in at 18 years old, paid nothing for him, and he’s done brilliantly last season and got the move. We will replace and move forward." No point trying to keep players who don’t want to be here, assume he thinks he’s better than Championship now after a successful season at Burnley.
-
We are a league lower so obviously the players coming in won’t be as good as JWP Lavia etc.. I don’t have a problem with getting players in to get us out the league. You don’t spend £15M+ on players in this league. In the summer if we get promoted, we are more attractive to signings again, then we spend the cash. Last season everyone wanted a mass overhaul of the squad, now it’s happening people are up in arms.
-
I just baffled as to what people expect us to do. Tino - champions league football with Newcastle Lavia - gone to Chelsea JWP - European football with WHU Salisu - Monaco Tella - European football with Bayer Leverkusen We aren’t just losing them to the likes of Luton or Burnley. Do fans really think the players will be happy if we just turn down those opportunities?
-
I think people need to take stock of a few things. 1. we are in the championship now not premier league 2. We will lose our better players as they are good enough for the premier league 3. you can’t expect to lose our better players and replace with on par or better quality because we are now in the championship. We know the loan market is important for clubs in championship. I don’t see the issue with us using it. These are players who can do a job in this league, if we go up we aren’t stuck with players not good enough for the league.
-
so if I’ve understood correctly, the same people who are saying we should keep Adams as he’s now the greatest striker are the same people who are complaining we haven’t bid for Archer and Piroe?
-
Will be on profit, and I don’t think we’ll be making any, didn’t we buy for £15M too?
-
How I see it with Che is as it stands he obviously doesn’t want to sign a new contract. We are then faced with the decision, do we sell him now and get a decent fee for him still and enable us to buy a replacement forward or do ee gamble, keep him and hope he continues to be fully focused and up for the fight. We might get promoted and hopes he then stays or we risk him moving on for free. The other risk is he stays and we don’t get promoted and we have missed out on a decent fee and promotion and still need to buy a replacement. He was average in the PL so I think we have to take the cash and reinvest.
-
There is going to be a lot of suspensions this season given how easy yellows are being given out. Stephens is on 3 already!
-
Assuming Downes is coming, Harwood-Bellis in centre back and another midfielder would be good, maybe a loan to add some depth to our wide attackers. then replace whoever else from starting XI that goes
-
Leeds seem a bit of a mess at the moment so imagine it would be between us and Leicester. Both have city connections, how many can you have on loan from one club given Leicester have Doyle already? I think a loan with option to buy or a straight buy would be our best approach.
-
I’d rather be in the PL with that problem than not loan them in and still be stuck in the Championship
