Birmingham have just signed David Lucas. So they now have him Butland and Doyle. Surely they don't need 3 keepers....

How much of last season did he miss due to injury rather than city just not picking him?

I sign of who isn't going to feature next season, Dickson, Barnard and Forte all playing

IMO it all depends on what further signings we make. At the moment our centre midfield options are Hammond, Cork, Davis and Morgan. Therefore Hammond will still feature next season, if we sign further centre midfielders then i believe we will look to move 1 on, in which case i think Hammond would be the first of those 4 that would leave.

Least Butland didn't say no, perhaps a nervous laugh as it's possible...?

I would be surprised if our goalie signing isnt one of Gordon, mcgregor or butland

I just don't get the fuss over schmiechel. Would much rather have Craig Gordon than him. I'm sure the hype is just because his dad was brilliant.

Forster has just signed for Celtic, so thats a keeper mentioned on here gone elsewhere. Wonder who we will go for if we don't follow up on Butland?

Do you think we will get someone in to play right midfield this season? We don't seem to be linked with anyone who can play here, so wonder if we are going to make do with Guly and Chaplow (and possibly Punchen)?

Lallana is over 23 therefore would have needed to take one of 3 spaces and never stood a chance. Surprised sordell was picked ahead of jay rod though

All I can assume is that it was much lower fee with lots of add on's, say international caps that took it up to £6m. I can't see saints offering a flat £6m for a keeper who has only played L2 and I can't see Birmingham turning down £6m in their situation.

I think it's just their way of trying to push up the price. We wont sell unless it's a fantastic offer. They are only setting themselves up for anger from the fans if they then sell the player for a fee fans deem not to be fantastic. I don't think they are in much of a position to hold onto them though, the premier league is a draw to anybody, as we found out to our cost too. Once teams come asking they generally get their players.

Another thread taken off subject! Any chance of the Tomas Sivok thread being used to discuss Tomas Sivok? I don't know much about him, other than he played in Euro 2012 for Czech Republic.

I can't see us signing any more forwards. Thats one area we have enough in Lee, Lambert, Sharp, Barnard and Jay Rod. Even if Barnard goes i don't think we need another. Hopefully Butland can get sorted now the Euro's are over, and before he goes to the Olympics, which IMO would just leave us to sort out RM, CM, RB and CB.
