Is the reason some people aren't excited about Puel being our new manager because he isn't a big name based on his own footballing career? If we were on the verge of appointing Dennis Bergkamp, and he had Puel managerial record would everyone be wetting themselves in excitement? Being a good pro footballer doesn't make you a better manager.

CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons

We just have to accept, that our approach is buy players for upto £15M, play them, improve them, sell them for £20M+ and then reinvest that money back into the squad. We won't keep hold of them because we don't play in Champions League or/and pay £100K+ a week wages. -

So with VW and Mane going, thats £45M in the bank. That should allow us to bring in 4 players to improve the squad. Redmond is already in so £34M on a replacement for VW and strengthening 2 other places. Get those signings right and we will come out stronger again. -

Some morning papers carrying Mané medical tomorrow at #LFC - fee quoted is 30M - so that's a briefing from Liverpool end - #saintsfc want 35 According to Adam Blackmore -
France have a host of fantastic holding midfielders currently, surely we can get one to replace Vic.
-
And to get the player sales done so it looks like he has a big transfer pot to spend.
-
We don't have anyone to replace VW, not like for like anyway. I expect what will happen in Mane will be sold and then a new manager appointed. He will be given the sale money from both to then go and improve the squad. Lose 2 and replace with 4 i imagine. We seem to go along the lines of having a stronger squad but no superstar players. We turn them into £20M+ players and then sell. Then the process is repeated. I expect us to pick up a few 18yrs and under players this summer to improve our youth set up with the aim of bringing them through in a year or two.

His contract with city expires at the end on June, I guess nothing stopping him agreeing to take over somewhere else and then starting on 1st July.
-
William Carvalho to replace VW would be amazing. Out of our league I imagine, but money talks theses days...
-
We we already have Watson and Lee so I guess the new manager can bring in an assistant and one other to replace the two that went to EFC
-
William Carvalho was brilliant tonight.
-
Can he make this guy his first signing too then please: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-zabaleta-transfer-guardiola-11486192

In what order would u prefer from them at list of 3?

Simon Peach just tweeted saying Garica appointment highly unlikely now "I'm told Rudi Garcia is highly unlikely to become the next #SaintsFC manager. Club spoke to him but looking elsewhere for Koeman replacement" "#SaintsFC looking at & speaking to a few candidates - names seem to vary from well-known managers to promising ones"
-
A nice little experiment to see if any papers pick up on a name and see how many bet on him because he is high odds and get all excited when the drop!
-
Any good/bad signings of note?
-
Whoever comes in I hope it's just a continuation of the previous few years, no need for major changes as we have shown how we have been performing clearly works. Kinda excited about the possible options Bergkamp as assistant might bring. Get on the phone to AW and get the OX on board first.
-
Emery to PSG and FDB to Lazio. Pellegrini or AVB then?
-
-
FDB and Bergkamp as assistant would do me. Worked together at Ajax, would help attract players to the club too.
-
I imagine Erwin and Jan will leave to go to Everton with him but would like to see Sam and Dave stay on. Allows the new boss to bring in a couple of his own staff too.
-
Who was FDB assistant at Ajax?
-
With Les saying we are looking to partner up with a lower league team and an overseas team to aid the development of our younger players who do you think the likely options are? I would imagine we would be looking L1 and possibly a Dutch or Belguim team? Thoughts?

Praet has been linked for the past couple of seasons.

Whats that got to do with who we have as a sponsor? Just because they have the TV rights doesn't mean we can't have their rival as a club sponsor.
