The story is a bit dramatic (daily mail surprise surprise!) It would only leave us £15M down if we didn’t have a sponsor for the next two years which is obviously not going to happen. It might see us not receive as much much would imagine it’ll only be £5M short over two years. Also if the club have known about it and have been looking for a new sponsor do you think they would have sold shirts with their logo on knowing they will have to replace them if the sponsor changes?

A loan into club secured against assets. Very common and plenty of clubs do it to asset with cash flow

Think it’s a general thing with footballers. Socks are too tight on their calfs so they cut holes to release the pressure. It’s also why a lot of them don’t have feet too then either!

Wont be a loss in the accounts though. Signed for £15M on a five year deal back in 2017. So 3/5 of the way through the contract would likely mean 9M of the transfer has been processed through the accounts leaving just £6M to go, which is roughly what the articles are saying we will sell for.
