  1. Our local Harley Dealership has gone out of business http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/8741785.Harley_Davidson_motorcycle_dealership_closes/
  2. I'd like to echo spud and lady saints comments, it was a good evening and nicola was very reassuring (which you'd expect anyway) Spudgun, were you the guy i was chatting to in the carpark after, next to your car? In regards to the beer, Nicola mentioned that the carlsberg lease is up in the summer and they'll be tendering for new suppliers. He also mentioned that the after match entertainment in the itchen concourse is a test run to show the club can host fans after and before games. He understands that the concourses themselves and the catering side need renovating to attract us in earlier and to stay later and i got the impression that would happen in the next few seasons. Part of this is to get us to spend more money in the ground, which ultimately helps the club. He said per home game the club recieve £1.30 odd per supporter in the way of snacks and drinks, and they want to improve that. When asked about the stadium, yes, he said they had conducted a study that showed we could potentially attract 40k+ fans to premiership games, and obviously this requires enlarging the stadium. However, he said the surrounding roads and those in and out of the city could not cope with that amount of traffic, and would have to be improved to enable it all to happen. He's talked (informally or formally he didnt say) to a council chief or who ever the powers that be are, and he was getting good vibes from their side to enable us to safely and quickly get 40k people in and out of the stadium without bringing the city to even more of a stand still on a matchday. He said no more than 1300 people took out the installment plan for season tickets, and as has been said, over a quarter of those people didnt pay but kept coming!, evading capture by sitting in other seats. Id like to add a good old "shame on you" to those involved. This would be solved by the electronic tickets, because these people could be instantly denied access. An interesting point that Nicola made was about what we'd refer to as dead wood. As we are aware, last season we off loaded 13 or so players, but he said we still have a couple of players that they have found very hard to shift! This frustrated him for a number of reasons, one of which is because it hindered the progress of the young and talented players. Nicola said they have offered certain players on loan, with the condition that our club would pay 100% of the players wages during that time and other clubs have refused! He also said he would consider making a quarterly statement to keep us up to speed and stop the fear mongerers from getting twitchy. I felt fortunate to be randomly selected and food was very nice too!
  3. Me too, see you there! But how will i recognise you?!
  4. To the posters quoted above, congrats for paying attention long enough NOT to realise you were talking about the same graffiti as the one that this thread is about. The rest of you, with the exception of theyin, thanks for the spam! I guess the answer to my question is no then!
  5. Its hardly a crusade. "If only diana were here!"
  6. Haha, she sounds like scum.
  7. Good man, you're becoming the source of the best saints videos on the whole of the interweb!
  8. http://www.youtube.com/user/LatviasMichaelOwen#p/u This guy, who may be on here, has been uploading some decent quality and length highlights of games from the last decade, inc the 1-0 and 4-0 victories in two days against spurs in 2002, the Bayern Munich Ted bates cup match and the 1st derby in 16 years in the carling cup. Worth checking out his channel!
  9. I'm sure many of us remember this on a building near what is now the wetherspoons in canute road in the 90's. I thought it was an iconic image of 1990's Southampton and was sad to see it go when the site was redeveloped. Question is, does anyone have a photo of the graffiti? I've tried google to no avail. I'd really like a copy if anyone has one in an old photo album tucked away somewhere. Cheers. I thought this was Saints related enough for this forum, but if mods disagree, feel free to move.
  10. 'Referee to scotland' chant not original and current enough for you?
  11. Only yesterday the Echo reported about this image on a wall in B.V, and its already been defaced! Image: http://ventnorblog.com/copy_images/no-future-banksy-wooster.jpg Todays story: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/8684295.Banksy_work_of_art_ruined/?ref=mr Was supposedly worth 20k, randomly the Echo say "It is believed the urban warrior sprayed his iconic stencil en route to the Isle of Wight"! Questionable, seeing as the artists' identity is unknown! I think its sad a jealous individual has white washed the work.
  12. Im not a fan, he played well against Tranmere, but hasnt made a significant impact in enough games overal.
  13. Phillips doesnt have fond memorys of us because his wife cheated on him down here and Beattie was arrogant, but dont forget he deliberately didn't play against us for Shef Utd last game of the season when Stern John scored the winner to keep us in the Championship.
  14. That is the most impressive feat of mass human choreography i've ever seen.
  15. I got a letter from him today, hand signed by him. I didn't write to him first though.
  16. Le Tiss was a midfielder.
  17. I'm not sure why you're amazed. Theres 50 but hawaii and alaska aren't the most obvious to think of. It's not exactly top of the British school curriculum, and i doubt 100% of americans would know straight away if questioned in a family fortunes style quiz!
  18. Theres a large field 5 mins down the road which is a fiver. DONT park in the retail park! i got a huuuuge clamping fine for parking outside one of the carpet shops

    C`mon guys

Me and my mates are going, we're not in our normal seats, but we dont care. There's all day parking across the road from Solent uni, next to park view mansions and the travel inn for £4. Theres usually space in there too.
  20. No idea, but who was this Nike Academy team we played?
  21. Thanks for the OP, an interesting thread!

  23. "one down-at-heel street" ?!?!? Im confused!
  24. This is the obvious choice!! It came to my mind during the match yesterday, and it has been used before for Rudi Skacel in an actual saints song that was on youtube afew years ago now. It could even be lengthened to be similar to the Rudi lyrics; "Guly, Guly, Guly, Guly...aaahhhhhh. Do ya Do ya Do ya......aaahhhhhh... wana wana score a goal!" Its to the tune of "Ruby Ruby Ruby" by The Kaizer Chiefs; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEfqozzL5uc. Its easy to pick up and remember, and its good!

    Arrested 11

That chant would be good if it was true! If you've seen the cctv footage which was on the web at the time, you'd know that it shows BWP just stood by the door, keeping an eye out, whilst Dyer rummaged throught the girls bags pocketing purses and phones!
