  1. Still don't think a PC is adequate for the living room. Got a powerful PC gaming rig in the office. The more I use the Xbox One), the more I like it. Time to find out if streaming works for the Saints game.
  2. Probably the worst out of box experience ever. GF surprised me with one for my birthday and it took me a day and a half to actually get it up and running as it constantly failed at 81% on the day one update. Ended up downloading the ISO image off their support forums and rebuilding the entire thing. Having said that, been pretty impressed. Skype integration is awesome, the snap too feature is great and actually useful, streaming speed on HD videos is better than Sky HD (no downloading wait on Xbox and I've no idea how they have done that - my internet speed Max's out at 5mb tops so impressed with that), haven't been overly bothered by the game install (you do it once after all). Never expected the first round of games to be that impressive so not too worried about that. The whole reason I wasn't going next gen yet was because there actually isn't any killer game on either yet. Was always planning on getting both so was a nice surprise. Microsoft have gone for the living room space and to me, when they get the full UK TV integration they would have nailed it. Not quite sure if I would have been as happy if I had bought it, but i definitely wouldn't be disappointed. Oh, nice mention for Xbox fitness too. That's definitely going to be part of my. New Years resolution. Overall, 7/10 (probably 6/10 if I had actually paid for it).
  3. Seriously, this Fox bashing has to stop. Just who is going to play understudy to an U18 year old? Fox wasn't even that bad. No protection at all. To me, Poch has to take the blame for that. To sub Cork was criminal. If he wanted to change the midfield then Morgan (worst game for a while) or Davies should have gone. Lallana was the best player on the pitch first half, faded a little second half but that's more to do with us getting the ball to him. Jay, Rickie, complete off days. Gaston did more in 15 mins than Jay all game. Chambers looks like the real deal. Lovren is a top 4 player. Jos and Gaz just infuse panic. Lovren toward's the end was losing his rag with both of them. I don't blame Fox at all - play Fox with Boruc, Fonte, Lovren and Chambers/Clyne and we would not have conceded 3 goals. Play Shaw with Gaz, Jos, Lovren and Chambers/Clyne and we would still have conceded the goals we did today. That game was there for the winning after we got it back to 2-2. To take Cork off was just plain nuts. As we stand at the moment, we aren't going to keep a clean sheet for a while. Would rather see us go all out attack. Lallana, Gaston, Jay, as the three attacking midfielders and take your pick up front out of Lambert/Osvaldo. Cork, to me, has been more than adequate replacement for Wanyama. It's the defence that needs sorting, which ain't going to happen until everybody is fit, so let's roll back to last year and go at teams more. I don't care if Gaston loses the ball in the last 3rd trying to create, the same way I don't care if Adam does. His job is to create. Others defend for him. We've nothing to lose now, might as well go for it.
  4. In the mini league of the top 8 we are currently 2nd I think. Only City have maximum points there and Arsenal seem to have had the blessings of the Gods in their fixture list (only played Spurs at home). The league is so open at the moment, those games against the top 8 are massive for all involved for Euro places. It seems every week there's a big game now. Long may it continue!
  5. Got 33/1 for top 4 a few weeks back. Doubtful, but it just can't call top 4 this season at all. Also got 33/1 for league cup each way. Had a pop on Lallana at 16/1 to get in the World Cup squad. Oh, and 50/1 for the Skates to get relegated.
  6. Meant when comparing this season reasults with last season.
  7. I'd say Wigan. Palace were 3rd to get promoted, Wigan 3rd to get relegated. Seems fair. Reading = Hull QPR = Cardiff

Last Season WBA (A) lost 2-0 Sunderland (H) lost 1-0 Norwich (A) drew 0-0 Pts return 1 This season WBA (A) won 1-0 Sunderland (H) drew 1-1 Norwich (A) lost 1-0 Pts return 4 Looks a better return to me. We've got players playing in the premier for the first time, injuries to both our first choice full backs, young players who will always be inconsistent until they get the experience (in JWP and Chambers) and there are no easy games. There seems to be the train of thought that we were smashing teams out of sight last year. We weren't. To me, we have the potential to be much better in the final third than we currently are but it will take time. The defence is already improved. The goal is to do better than last year and I can't see any reason why we won't do that. Give players a chance to gel, give MP a chance with everybody fit so he can play the way he wants. Happy with what's going on at the moment.
  9. Fair enough, agree to disagree. I would love another team to finish in the top 4 rather than the usual lot but just can't see who they will displace at the moment. Depends on Bale in m view. If they keep him, they'll make it. If they don't, they won't. I just can't see them spending what they've spent and not cashing in. Agree that they have a very good squad and manager though. Can also see them letting a striker go which will leave them in the same situation they were last season. Which goes back to the point, would Osvaldo play second fiddle?
  10. To be fair Turkish, that's my point. Will Spurs finish top 4? We won't, I don't think they will either. Yes, they'll probably be closer than us, but does that really matter? As it stands right now, they've a much better chance over the next few years of qualifying for it, but if they did, would he be an integral part of it? Especially with Soldado there. It's World Cup year. If he gets 15 goals in the Prem, he'll be in the squad. I honestly don't know what I would do if I was him. Like I said, don't think it's clear cut.
  11. Makes perfect sense.
  12. Sorry, double post!
  13. On that basis, we can offer the same CL experience as Spurs this year. Spurs aren't going to win the league, neither are we, they've got a much better chance of qualifying for it next year and winning a trophy this year, yet we're probably not too far away from a League Cup or FA Cup win in the near future. We may also offer more money. Serious question; which would you choose? If you are definitely not getting CL football, have as much chance of winning a trophy in the next couple of years at either club, probably getting more money at Saints (I know, can't substantiate that claim, but that's what it sounds like). I don't think it's as clear cut as it sounds. There's also the fact that one of those teams have just spent £25mil on a player that plays in your exact pace. Personally, think we can offer him 2/3. Agree with you about Ramirez, although I think the point being made is that it was also reported that we were building a team around him which MAY be attractive to some players. That blatantly didn't happen. Can't see that line being spun to Osvaldo either.
  14. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11704/8857204/transfer-news-benficas-oscar-cardozo-keen-on-securing-move-away-from-club All I could find with a quick search. At that money and that age, not very far I would assume!
  15. Hodgson is deluded, his interview with SSN proved that. It's almost as if he doesn't pay any attention to anything outside the top 7. Italy's recent squad for the Confederation Cup included multiple players whose clubs finished 11th, 13th, and 16th (not including goalkeepers). We complain about a lack of English players but don't seem to give those we do have a chance. Lamberts's the same age as Defoe. Deserves his chance. It's up to him now to take it. How Hodgson believes Carroll is a better option there is beyond belief. Can somebody also explain what Raheem Sterling and Wilfred Zaha have done in their careers to date to deserve an England call up?
  16. Have done it before, closest I got was 2 out 4. Going to go or"to be promoted + to finish in top 4 prem" this year in stead. Keeps it more interesting (hopefully) right to the end.
  17. 'The standard at the club is rising, but we have a responsibility to help the English team with players if they want to select them.' Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2378319/Southampton-chairman-Nicola-Cortese-People-thought-I-E-T-I-Ianded-Saints.html#ixzz2aF2J2Wmh Found that comment on the Daily Mail interview with the Don quite interesting. Not sure if I fully believe it but equally, not sure how many other chairmen would even mention it. With the first team standard rising, its great to know that we are looking after those that don't make it, especially as one of my nephews is there now. Outstanding results in the Academy, but why do politician speak like Mongs from the 1800s in the House of Lords?
  18. Just an opinion based on what I saw last season. To be fair, that's all I've seen of Ramirez. I've seen a lot more of Lallana. Ramirez obviously has a load of quality. Not bashing him at all. Hope they both come good this season.
  19. Big fan of his but admit last season wasn't his greatest and needs to step it up this year. Never a captain and think he could do without the added responsibility. Still believe he's our most technically gifted player but this year is a big year for him. Puncheon was more of a goal threat last season. Hope he's worked on his shooting as to me, with the chances he creates for himself and gets on the end of, he should be well into double figures for a midfielder. Has to earn his right to be first choice now, it's not (in my opinion) as obvious as it was.
  20. Just a proper professional footballer, made the most out of his talent and was appreciated by fans and players a like. Always gave his all, had more quality than people gave him credit for and was obviously a team player. Even more respect for him now he's cancelled his contract with the club when he could have sat it out. Just a football player who wants to play. The game needs more like him. Tweets what he wants on twitter too. Top guy, wish all the best. P.S. please don't score against us like everybody else who leaves this club does.
  21. Find it amazing how people don't think Lallana will be in the team. Still don't think that people fully understand what a player we have on our hands. Injury hit season last year, but to discount him like many have done is just stupid. He will have a starting birth somewhere in the 3 of a 4-2-3-1, no matter who we bring in. One thing for sure, if we sign who we have been rumoured with, there will be serious options on the bench which we were sometimes lacking last year.

    Man of Steel

Amazing film. Can't understand some of the critics reviews. It's almost as if some of them either haven't watched the film, or just had it in for it since the start. Easily best film of the year so far for me.
  23. Got a lot of Pompey mates and most feel the same. It's the twitter warriors and #factless that don't seem to have any remorse about the previous years. The FA Cup win is still shouted everyday, and then thirty seconds later they are going on about how great it is to have their club back and how the previous years debts and criminality are nothing to do with the club. Serious question, how many do you think will turn up next year? If you average over 11k that would be impressive.
