I did a piece for GCSE on this. I wrote an essay comparing the themes of Sex and Sexuality between this and 1984. I'll dig it out for you.

Zomg this thread sux0rs.

Saint Francis is actually my preferred persona, but I keep him quiet much of the time.

+1 from me on all the comments. A great event put on and was fantastic to have a beer with the lads. I was quite surprised how open and candid Jan was, he's an interesting fellow. Surman's a top bloke too - didn't come across as having a huge ego and was just like talking to anyone else my age. Only downside was Kelv started questioning my sexuality when I suggested we could make a good table football team. He hadn't been particularly impressed with the goalkeeping advice I'd been passing on to him. All in good spirits tho! Thanks to the organisers of the event, and to the guys who invited me along. I've managed to get my mug onto the website too!

I'll be moving to Greece - although I am a quarter French!

Is the thread on the Away Saints Forum not good enough then? I'll be on the 12.10 Northern Line getting in to London Bridge at 12.30 - then Southwark Tavern.

Been trying out The Bridge Lounge on Tooley Street all eve. I'd give it a "no" for a footy game.

No chance do you want to be coming up to my neck of the woods. That's a massive detour. Try this one on Tower Bridge Road, just up Tooley Street from London Bridge, if you're a stickler for Wetherspoons. You'll pass the Shipwright's Arms. I walked past that on the way to work one Saturday last year while Swansea were playing Millwall and it had the largest police presence I've ever seen at a pub - and it's only small. There was a corridor of about 40 policemen guarding the entrance, horses, vans. Unbelieveable. As you can guess it can get quite rough, tho nice enough to visit after work.

Surely it's only a bad place to live if you're facing unemployment. Everything else is going pretty much in your favour - low interest rates, falling mortgage payments, discounted shop prices, tax concessions.

I got to the end of this last week, but Pancake had beaten me (on Phase 2 only!)

Patrick Colleter for me. Makes a bit of a mockery of the poll when most of the users can't vote for it. 100 voters is a terrible turnout.

:smt119 I hope you don't work in the same place as me! I shall be drinking in the Southwark Tavern as usual before popping down for a spot of Addick-bashing.

Did Lucy enjoy the game?

I'm not sure what shocks me more, the original comments about the Chelsea smiles and broken jaws dished out, or the flippant nature of some of the comments that followed. Some people really need to take a long hard look at themselves. I would say I had a truly fantastic day out yesterday - great atmosphere, attractive football, friendly banter with the Reading fans. When I read about trouble like this it really takes the shine off the day. I was going to put this into my top 5 list of away games, but sadly now it drops right down to number 7. Why can't some people keep control of themselves after a bit of alcohol and a well deserved win. I've long been a proponent of Beer Licenses for fans - you can only drink once you have passed the strict tests and they can be revoked at any trouble - and todays news has solidified this in my mind. I only hope and pray lessons have been learnt.

This is soooo funny and well worthy of The Lounge. The best thing is that it could easily be real, we live in such PC times! If you're white, male and middle class, you're like the **** on the shoe of a tramp. This sort of humour shows the true spirit of the British people. I'm sure the lefty do gooders will make sure we never see jokes like this again. In fact, given that it dates from 2005 maybe this sort of joke has been banned for the past few years by this loony left government. We'll all be Muslims next! What happened to being proud of being a white christian? This country makes me so sick I may rip my own eyes out.

I'm not bothered about reuniting the fans. Those that have chosen to leave can stay away in my book. Not that I've been recently mind.
