  1. I quite like Adrian Heath. He's doing a good job down at Orlando. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-city-lions/os-adrian-heath-mike-bianchi-0306-20160305-column.html
  2. Couldn't be less up for a game than this one. Totally inconsequential.
  3. Play to the whistle Whitey G, play to the whistle.
  4. What about an attempt to kick the ball that ends up getting the man instead? (Still red card I guess if your name is Wanyama) Anyway, the point was to play to the whistle and defend the ball. The game played on and there was ample opportunity to stop the goal.
  5. It was a bit of a kick and could have been called a free kick or not - however there was still plenty of opportunities for Saints to defend that move and stop the ball going in the net thereafter (including FF catching the ball that breezed right past him). The incident happened on the edge of their penalty area for goodness sake. I know it's an easy thing to go after, but it's not like the ref played them through one-on-one. I'm sorry but the complaining sounds like that bleating you hear from Stoke / WBA / Palace etc fans every week about how a throw-in should have been given 2 mins before a goal was scored.
  6. Which pixel am I looking at now?
  7. My brother was right there in the mix of it (the square, not the fight) and said there were Feyenoord fans involved. Who is telling the truth?
  8. Been a terrible defender but scored a beautiful volley? I saw him against both Arsenal and West Ham away and he was a liability in both games. He was being signalled to come off right before he fluffed a header right to the opposition to allow them to score the equaliser at Boleyn Ground.
  9. SOG - isn't the point here that you read a potentially ambiguous statement of Batman's one way, to which he clarified that he meant it another way? Given that he clarified it and the intent in his statement is now unambiguous, why not just drop it?

    Uni bet advert?

Looked to me like the defender was Robert Huth for Leicester.
  11. Saw someone wearing a Pompey shirt on the beach at Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand. Stopped for a friendly taunt. Quite nice guy really - maybe thats why he got as far away from that place as you can get.
  12. I'm not a kid any more. I appreciate football is a complex game and Saints will lose games before the end of the season. I'm cool with that and it doesn't upset me any more like it used to. If one of those games we lose happens to be against Leicester then so be it. Good for them.
  13. Yes, unconditionally.
  14. Why is Yoshida nominated as "Best Foreign Language Saint" ahead of Jose Fonte and Virgil Van Dijk? Or Pellè for that matter. Or Clasie / Romeu. I'll be good spirited and leave Long off the list.
  15. There was a match report on here last week saying Vokins was a bit cr@p in that U21s match.
  16. All the more reason to get in now then and be one of those people in early making money, rather than joining later and losing it all! Short selling is not the same thing as short term trading.
  17. Really? Like who?
  18. This is written for US attitudes (note the US capitol building at the top, and spelling of "organized"). In the US, yes there are plenty who ascribe to the beliefs of the right hand side, particularly in Southern states. I think that in Britain, and Europe more widely, the "centre line" is placed a little more to the Left - and so many would find the Right views here a little unsavoury.
  19. Is our official formation now "3-5-1 ... plus Wanyama as a bonus for as many minutes he can stay on the field"?
  20. Are we talking about the same incident? https://streamable.com/812m There was no reason to be anywhere near him?? The ball was going off?? Valencia had caught up with the ball already. He only didn't touch it because he planted his foot under Yoshida's (he clearly went out of his way to do it while Maya was running straight) and then fell to the floor. And "sliding off on all fours" is just another way of saying he fell over, so carries no importance. Defo no pen for me, and Maya was absolutely right to be covering the play.
  21. That wasn't a pen. For one thing their player took two more steps after Yoshida made contact with his foot and he clearly only went down once he was able to make the conscious decision to do so.
  22. Why do Dutch managers love 3-5-2 so much? It seems to be what they all want to implement eventually. And that's an observation from even before Koeman and van Gaal came to the Prem.
  23. They were playing up this narrative in the commentary too, but I noticed later in the game he booked Valencia and his yellow card was in his back pocket (bum) and not his breast pocket, so I think he just lost track of which upper pocket he put his red in (vs his notebook perhaps?). For the record, I thought it should have been a yellow.
  24. You are incredibly positive, Pete!
  25. Isn't the real problem that [whispers in case anyone hears] Saints are actually pretty good these days. We are putting in good performances and getting the results. The players are likeable and pulling their weight. The manager has the support of the fans and the behind-the-scenes stuff is getting on quietly doing good stuff. Nobody has any genuinely gripes with how things are going or ideas for how we could be doing things better, so we're reduced to banal scraping-the-bottom-of-the-barrel threads of the first vaguely interesting idea that pops into people's heads. That and I'm not sure about our youth strategy. I've been on here since early 2007, nearly 10 years, and it seems to me a lot of the posters now were around back then. Where are the kids? How are we bringing through the new blood? Perhaps RoKo is right and they just aren't up to it, but it strikes me we should be at least giving them a chance. Mods - how about a kids' play-area where the young'uns can try on an online persona or two in a safe environment.
