I think I had that exact same experience at that Reading game. For some reason I thought we'd win that game tho. Didn't we play some really silky stuff that day that gave us belief the team had finally gelled? I think in our relegation season we had a win up at Boro. I remember thinking that we HAD to win that game to have a chance of staying up, and it may be our best shout of an away win all season, but still thought we'd eff it up. Was very pleasantly surprised to come home and find we'd won! Of course we still went down and they managed to draw with us at SMS that year being 2-0 down after 90 mins!

Well we can't do anything at all, extending that logic. We can no more influence the Saints result then the Cardiff one, all we can do is speculate. But to mention that is to undermine most of what goes on on a football forum.

I wouldn't, no. Sorry ladies. And those of you who think that sex isn't important in a relationship are kidding yourself or never been in one.

What's the point in people who don't know that Countdown is on Channel 4? What's the point in people who post snide remarks on an internet forum at 2.55am? etc ad infinitum

On Saintsplayer, the "Live Commentary" tab (4th tab on the bottom right, after "Live Table") with text updates is stuck the 3-2 MK Dons game from last year. There's a poll where 75% of people thought we'd win before the game. Is it the same for everyone or is just mine broken?

Yes, they are, my brother is in it. They're very secretive these days tho so I won't say any more.

That is rather magical, those choirboys come across quite sexy too.

I get bored just after the start of F1 races.

For me would be: Jerusalem (by Hubert Parry, went to my old school Twyford) O God Our Help In Ages Past (by Isaac Watts, went to my old school King Edwards) Bread of Heaven / Who's The ****** In The Black Also big fan of I Vow To Thee My Country, Onwards Christian Soldiers (some great memories ****ing off our choirmaster at Twyford on a Saturday morning with that one) and my parents got married to Morning Has Broken, as did my sister (no - that wasn't the same wedding LOL!) I love a good sing. It's the one thing I really miss from going to Church.

In other news: Coventy, Doncaster, Bristol City, Barnsley and Watford have all demanded the Football League provide them with one top quality striker so they not field a weakened side than earlier in the season after selling theirs for financial prudence reasons in the January transfer window.

It's not his fault he was signed for 2mil. We shouldn't be giving Harding (who I nevertheless like) an easier ride just because he was signed for less...Fox is the better player for us.
-
Well I've done some analysis of my own and I reckon we've scored SIXTY goals from starting players, reaffirming my belief that our starters are better than our subs.
-
FFS - why can't people let our players settle in before writing them off! Especially the foreign ones, who we know will take more time to bed in. Plus he even scored a great goal at the weekend for your information. First "Taxi for Guly" and then this. I notice there isn't the same level of abuse being dished out for the Englishman Billy Sharp!

You'll not talk about my Zooooey like that and get away with it, sir!!

Serious clash of heads. Robbie Rogers down for ages. They'd signalled 5 mins of injury time before that happened.

Lee Martin must be Saints man of the day. Not only did he score 2 at St Marys, he scored 2 for Ipswich in their victory over Cardiff today too! Interesting fact of the day: The initials of the top 4 in Scotland now read, in reverse order, "HMRC".

Kitson sent off. That'll help.

Just spoke to an insolvency expert friend of mine. It's not legal to change terms of a CVA without getting approval of creditors (so this not legal as HMRC not notified). Also the gas and electricity will need to be turned back on per Section 233 of the Insolvency Act. Just seen judge has proposed joint admin team of PKF and UHY. He's wise that one...like King Solomon! I'd be happy with that outcome, would be a great soap opera.

I guess you're right, but with our recent run I was looking for something more along the lines of: Leicester (a), Cardiff (h), Birmingham (a), Burnley (h), West Ham (a) ...but maybe that was a freak in itself. The fact of the top 8 no team is playing one of the top teams more than twice, and all seem to have a sprinkling of the much weaker teams in between, really surprised me. Also, I still don't really see Hull and Reading as quite of the same calibre as the other teams in the list. I think if Boro had been 2 places higher they wouldn't have been included. Reading have been on a great run, but have beaten the weaker sides and then lost to the other teams listed above.
-
Oh yeah, you're right. Cuz I clearly said that the other teams will roll over and we will win every one of those games, home and away. Fact is if you are prepared to say there are difficult games / runs, then you have to accept there are easy ones too. Everyone knows what that means - it doesn't mean a 10-0 drubbing every match. Otherwise you're saying that every team is just as good as each other which you'd have to be stupid to do...or at best lazy and an odd thing to post on a thread about easy vs difficult runs. Just to back up what I am saying, as if number of points gained in the league isn't self-evident already: Saints record v teams in top half of the table (average points per game): 1.58 (highest in the division) http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/vtophalf.html Saints record v teams in bottom half of the table (avg pts per game): 2.07 http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/vbothalf.html Interesting stat to come out of those tables are Saints have only played 14 of their 31 games against teams currently in the bottom half - less than any of our closest rivals - confirming we do have an easy (yes, it's relative) run-in.
-
Yes there are. That is a tired cliche, along with "we have nobody to fear but ourselves". Bull****. I worry about Birmingham going on a 12 game winning streak, I don't worry about Saints suddenly forgetting how to play football. Easy is clearly a relative term, nobody's expecting those teams to roll over, but those games above are the games you need to be winning the majority of if you have Premier League aspirations. Games against your West Hams, Cardiffs, Boros, Brum, and even Leicester on their day, are going to give you a much tougher game - their league position tells you they are a more difficult team beat as fewer others have done so. Those runs are easy.
-
Jesus - how come EVERY team has such an easy next 6 games, save for the occasional game against each other. Surely that's mathematically impossible? I'd say our run is just about easiest but every team there will be looking to pick up at least 12 points from the next 6.

I just came on here to write the same thing. Never seen such a biased write-up on the BBC, must be a Hammers fan. I'm not normally one to write in and complain but that is ridiculous! A 'disputed' sending off? I was in the furthest corner of the away stand (literally) and I saw Taylor get Sharp by the throat and push, almost throw, him about 5 metres across the pitch (sounds like an exaggeration but seemed like it). Only single doubt in my mind as to whether he would go was if the ref didn't see it, as he was over by the penalty spot. He had no hesitation. "West Ham outclassed, outmuscled and outplayed their opponents early on but once Taylor had been dismissed, a combination of great goalkeeping from Green and poor finishing from Sharp prevented Saints clawing their way back into the contest." Bear in mind Taylor was sent off after 20 mins, so he's talking about just 15 mins or so of play here. And even when we're playing well it's only Green that gets mentioned, not Saints. End of the day, 54% possession and 12 shots on target v 5 tells its own story. Once they went down to 10 men we controlled the game, but they're a good team, strong at the back and looked like they could break dangerously. Nothing to deserve that sh1tty write-up.

Does a Saints fan in the US want a Lambert Jersey?

I may be interested if you can hold on to it for a bit. Back in London for a few months but living in New York again from April. Don't have the new shirt (only the green GK one) and would be large. How much is it?
