A completely unrelated topic, crowbarring a Saints connection in at the very end? You could write for Dubia Phil! [nice vid tho!]

Rather than post links of classic comedy sketches that most of us have already seen (because they are good), how about we get writing some comedy sketches of our own. Perhaps we could make it a regular thing: set a theme and everyone write their own sketch around it each week and compare. About time we put all this spare time & intellect on here to some productive use.

Sorry Scotty, colour me a bit slow too. I'm aware of the Beyonce lip syncing story, and of Pompey's plight, but I don't get them either. Can you humour me by explaining? Are they poorly worded or am I missing a trick?

What's the blue thing, top middle?

I was checking the ticket updates on the website, and it only lists up to the QPR game, saying it goes on general sale from Tues 5 Feb. Are tickets available to ST holders sooner than those dates? I'm looking to get one for the Chelsea game, around Easter. Anyone guess when they might be available? Cheers x

My excuse is I'm 5 hours behind you guys and am about to pop off to bed!

I read that article, but most of what it said didn't sound illegal. Vote-swapping, geopolitical interests and promising investment are all sub-optimal reasons for selecting somewhere compared to pure footballing motives, but they are still valid reasons. Unless they directly paid a member of the voting committee directly to purchase his vote then I don't really see an issue with it.

I disagree. If people coming to this country are prepared to spend a bit of time familiarising themselves with knowledge of the UK history, geography and culture then I'm all for it. Isn't that the point? I'm not sure they are trying to weedle out only those with some innate knowledge of our green and pleasant land (from a previous life perhaps?).

So we're agreed this is a better test than the previous one? Let's give the government some credit for once!

Without meaning to rise to your bait and feed the troll (which of course means I'm going to do exactly that), you would fully expect to get almost all these right if you are a Brit. It's not supposed to be difficult to pass if you've spent your whole life here. The test is for those coming from afar to see how much they know compared to what is standard knowledge in the UK. It's a bit like someone who has been driving for 20 years but hasn't practised for his test be surprised to hear than an examiner would have passed him. Of course you'll still get the odd thickie who is beyond help, and will probably score around 4/10. FWIW I got 9/10 (guessed low on the age of jury duty), but then I've not lived in the UK for nearly 4 years so am on the decline.

Was by Robbie Jackson from Eastenders, and I won't have anyone tell me different.

So you've hit it lucky a couple of times on a random number generator. Do you play blackjack?

I see Lez Miserables and his orchestra are still going strong in Shaftesbury Avenue after all these years.

If you have 2 second teams and you like one more, doesn't that make the other your "third" team??

Tokyo - you sniffling little maggot. You make my skin crawl and my teeth cringe and stuff. Let's settle this the old fashioned way...with a game of rock, paper, scissors (Bletch translation: rochambeau). Shall we say best of 3? As you so cruelly note, I have but 2 posts remaining. #thatshowconfidentiam #youwontwin #goscissorsfirst 3...2...1... -

What would you do with the sandworks opposite St Marys?
Deano6 replied to Tom8558's topic in The Saints
Yup, agree. Would be nice to have a few decent options before the game that aren't miles away. And another option than have everyone piling over the footbridge after the game. -
I remember being very underwhelmed by Glasvegas, having really hyped them up in my own head. Mind you they were supported by White Lies who, while mainly unknown at that point, blew them away!

This thread really is buckling under the strain of having everyone reaching a consensus. A few trying to take it off course, but failing. Bravo! We did it! Fantastic news on Shaw front. I hadn't seen that goal before Turkish - shows he has real talent all over the pitch!
