As if! "Nicola, you've done a terrific job so far, and I definitely don't want more involvement in the running of the club, but there's just one thing...if you want to retain your position you must let that Francis Benali and Matthew Le Tissier back into the stadium." "I quit!" :x

Zoopla end Sponsorship of WBA over Anelka gesture
Deano6 replied to KelvinsRightGlove's topic in General Sports
No it doesn't. They are seeing out their 3 year contract and then not renewing. -
Nah, since when did the colour of the shirts ever matter to owners from the far east? This is all completely irrelevant. The accounting treatment doesn't matter a bit to how a businessman is going to value the club for a transaction. He's not going to ignore the fact that he could sell Luke Shaw for 30 million quid tomorrow, just because IAS 38 says you shouldn't under the IFRS accounting rules. He's going to value everything at their true market value - that's what market value is...what something is actually worth in the market. Amortization / depreciation methods are often a poor indicator of market value - they're just more tractable and less easy to manipulate when creating financial statements, which is why they are the preferred method when developing the accounting rules.

Will Britt have a future here?

"It's what you do to a lolly-pop, and then add bum"
Deano6 replied to saintbletch's topic in The Muppet Show
It's "bum-lick" isn't it. Are you sure she was describing a sexual act? It's a term commonly used to describe, well, what you Brit's would adorably describe as "kissing ass", or "sucking up" - with similar connotations. Also are you sure it was a she? Can you be sure of anything these days Bletchy, you old rascal! -
Maybe Katarina has better plans for the club than NC had

I think I might have gone on a date with her, circa 2004. -
Cortese has left Southampton Football Club - Officially Confirmed
Deano6 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Cortese to ride back as a white knight on his steed with his investors who have been waiting in the wings, and lead us on to the Champions League. She wants to sell, and he wants to buy. This is just an "interim period". You heard it hear first! -
Wish him every success. Thanks for bringing great things to our club.

Always a conundrum to me that Whatever wasn't on any of their albums. Keep expecting it to pop up on Definitely Maybe or Morning Glory.

You expect forum coding for embedding images to be used in support of FM stat increases??

I'm gonna be in Ouagadougou for this week's game. Get in touch if you'll be around for the West Brom match - it'd be great to get a big group of us together this week.

Good one!

If our players believe that we can get CL football in the next few years and as a result stay with us rather than leaving for a bigger team, then I'm all for it and they can say what they want. I don't really care if what they say doesn't end up tying to the actual results on the pitch.

Good player, him.

"Network error" - very apt! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25576814

I put it down to we have generally beaten teams we are better than and lost to teams we are worse than, with the fixture list putting most of the games against the former before the latter. Our league position is about right. Interestingly if the computer had organised the games in reverse we would have been bemoaning our terrible start to the season, then marvelled at our peaking in "form" to leapfrog other teams into 9th (a little like what happened last year come to think of it). There is also injuries / suspensions / bit of bad luck / congested fixtures thrown in, but it's mainly the first point.
-
Disagree with that. I'm a bit disappointed he didn't do better with the third, but give him the benefit of the doubt. First one though took a wicked deflection and just looped up over him in a way no one could predict. Could have got it if he's taller I suppose, but was not a technical error for him. As said above, he had an excellent first half. Not quite so good second half, but that was true of the entire team.

Ok, we don't have a great manager. We have a very good one. That'll do for me.

Agree, just look at the interest in the Pompey Takeover thread.

Dubai to Allow Rent Jumps of as Much as 20%
Deano6 replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Lounge
They should let them charge market prices and stop interfering with the economic system altogether - bloody government subsidies causing market distortions. They never learn. -
Doing fine?? Did you see the Spurs game??? Your point is a very generic truism, that everyone is aware of, but that doesn't apply here. Frankly I don't care how old he is. He has a spot on the field at a Premier League club and so needs to be held to a certain standard if he wants to remain in his position. We are not his parents - if he's not up to the task he should be moved on.
-
Didn't see him today, but still having nightmares about quite how bad he was against Spurs. Question to those who saw the game - Sky Sports saying Cardiff had no shots on target, so did he actually have a save to make?
