Well given how sh*t we are it's hardly surprising.

This. We deserve each other.

Well, we're not. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/relegation-zone

Not so much tenuous as incorrect. She is his 26 y.o daughter. That's what I said. No - jawillwill - that is not what you said!! You clearly said she was the WIFE of Steve McManaman, not his DAUGHTER. See, I have highlighted it above IN PINK AND underlined it for you and everyone else to see plain as day that you DID make an INCORRECT statement. Why do you have to be such a ti* about it and pretend you said something you didn't?

In the sporting world "goat" stands for "greatest of all time".

I feel dumber for reading this thread.

James Ward-Prowse for England? ...say that again ...
Deano6 replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
What is his position exactly? Midfielder who isn't attacking, isn't defensive, isn't good on the wing, can't shoot or tackle? Free kick specialist who has scored...one free kick in over 100 games for us? Is being capable of making a sideways pass at such a premium these days? -
I think the maths of it is more that once you have won 50% +1 votes in a state, the rest of the votes in that state don't count for anything. So you can win California by 80%-20%, lose every other state 49%-51%, have more votes cast for you nationally but not carry enough states to win in the electoral college. The senator allocation slightly over weights the smaller states, but it's mainly the fact that the very liberal states of NY and CA in particular are v big but so many of the votes end up not counting towards anything.

Well this thread didn't get the reaction Turks was hoping for. -
Well, we'll soon be closing that gap when we sell VVD. Then we'll be much better balanced.

Do we rotate more than other teams? I've found out so you don't have to
Deano6 replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
Isn't the problem that the replacement players aren't up to the same standard as the first choice starters? It's not like we're Chelsea with a squad of 25 superstars, so we're bound to be weakened. Mind you even the first choicers aren't up to much these days either. -
Are we really expected, in the modern world, to show deference to such hooligans? Or is this more like looking back fondly on the Romans and judging them against the standards of their time, despite them being horrific by today's standards?

Come on. Be srs. He went cuz he got handed a bagload of cash and was told to feed that line to the press. You really think he gives a $hit?
-
Wait...who has scored 19 goals in 20 games and can we sign them?
-
Agree, he should definitely have started Redmond for this game. If Van Dijk is rotated out next game I'm throwing my season ticket onto the pitch.

How has the cameraman managed to take the shot from below the level of the grass? Genuinely?

I am mighty relieved to find out we are above VVV Venlo in the footballing world pecking order.

It's all very noble trying to claim that the Palestinian flags were there as a political protest, but this post makes it very clear it was just straight up hooliganism.

Well, there's good news and bad news. The bad news is that Neil will be taking over both branches, and some of you will lose your jobs. Those of you who are kept on will have to relocate to Swindon, if you wanna stay. I know, gutting. On a more positive note, the good news is, I've been promoted, so... every cloud. You're still thinking about the bad news aren't you?

Some Saints Books To Buy And NOT To Buy This Christmas
Deano6 replied to pluto's topic in The Saints
Hi - I was thinking of buying a CD for my Mum for xmas. Can you let me know which artists I should / shouldn't be putting money in their pockets please? -
I'm trying to figure out why you have written out 4 unconnected sentences, all unrelated to the topic being discussed of whether the EU is a dictatorship.

This thread reminds me...how are Portsmouth doing at the moment? Genuinely haven't checked in about 2 years.

It's a serious question, MLG. We're plenty good enough to stay up as-is, we don't seem to be mounting any sort of realistic challenge for Europe (which is 5th place, I'll remind everyone). Sure we have a 2 legged cup tie against Liverpool, but aside from that getting a new striker in January is going to be expensive and risky. Why not just ride the season out and assess our options better in the summer? I don't think it's a ridiculous question to ask. I'm not even necessarily saying it's the course that should be taken, but I've yet to see any serious discussion around this point. Saving money in the short term means more available later. There seems to be a foregone conclusion that we should get somebody NOW, but I don't see what we're realistically making a push for right now that we need the reinforcements for. I'd be ok with seeing it through til the end of the season, taking stock of our resources and then going after the best target we can in the summer for a better campaign next season. I know as fans we always crave the instant satisfaction of a new signing, and there is nothing more thrilling than the news of a brand new striker - with the promise of all them GOALS - but is it really the move we should make right now, in the overpriced and under-supplied market that is the January transfer window? Particularly the idea of a 6 month loan, which would be $$$...for what ultimate benefit? MLG, would really love to hear your counterpoints to this, rather than dismissing it as a ludicrous proposition.

Given that we're not gonna get relegated this season and we're not gonna make Europe, why not just save a bit of $$ and get nobody in?
