    If...........

But you could always still move jobs in a few years. These guys have around 10 years to make all their money before they retire.
  2. Summer signings are not always a great success.

    Ched Evans

Surely the obvious difference is that Ched Evans has (had?) a club that wanted to sign him, and the PFA were standing behind that club's right to do so. These disgruntled released players have a different problem - that nobody wants them because they're not good enough.
  5. What's meeting the eye is a rather cynical and thinly veiled attempt to keep him away from the ACoN, so I'd be interested to hear what darker motives are really at play here.
  6. I refuse to sing that song, because it's based on a lie. I was burned last time and I won't be fooled again. When we were in the Championship / Lg 1 we sang: E I E I E I O, Up the football league we go, When we get promotion. This is what we'll sing: We are Southampton, We are Southampton, Adkins is our king! But then when we did get promoted we didn't sing "We are Southampton, We are Southampton, Adkins is our king!", we sang the same full song again, just as we did when we weren't promoted. So that is why I refuse to participate in the lie.
  7. But equally we only won 8-0 because of Tadic's terrific performance and his assists, so it seems unfair to discount those!
  8. Unfortunately you mentioned the word "statistics". Any second now someone will be along to tell you this is meaningless...
  9. You lucky, lucky b*stard.
  10. Very much enjoyed it, even got a bit misty eyed when they were going back over the history, Le Tis's last goal, relegation, comeback etc. Very positive and affirming for a fan, not sure quite how many it will convert as surely you'd have to be a fan of a Premier league side to even be tuning in to such a documentary hidden away on a niche channel - not complaining nonetheless. Couple of minor gripes: - Narrator guy had a really annoying tendency to talk reeeaalllyy slllooowwwlllyy whenever talking about the "bad times" at Southampton, that was very distracting. He'd then pick it up again in much more chipper tones when talking about our resurgence, but it came across more as a GCSE project piece - very amateurish. - The wrap-up bit at the end was dumb too. After they came back from the last ad-break they just played a series of clips they'd already shown in the main show. It was essentially the trailer for the show. Was odd placement as we'd already seen every bit, just here the context was removed. It was the TV version of the summary paragraph in your coursework essay where you round up all your key points, but transposed over to the TV format was boring and unnecessary. - They focussed on a few kids, including one enthusiastic guy with dodgy long floppy hair (no offence lad!), but I'm still none the wiser who they are!
  11. Kerry Katona was a bona fide pop star.
  12. He also went full Alan Partridge over it too...
  13. Listen fella, I've kept my head down most of this year trying to stay out of the limelight, but if you're gonna start invoking my name and insinuating things about me doing things with birds you can f**k right off mate!
  14. That doesn't make any sense Pap. What does their team being top of the league have to do with whether or not they are lost / in the wrong section? I'm not surprised they were confused by what you said.
  15. Is that 7pm tonight or was it last night (I noticed you posted it around 5pm yesterday, but surely that wouldn't give us enough time)? I'm gonna pop along tonight, just in case.
  16. I'd give that one an impressive 8/10. Where's the next one?
  17. What's your favourite sauce? If I had to go left-field I'd say tartare, but really it's ketchup. ?
  18. How many goals would Toby have scored, Batters?
  19. Yeah, who do these people think they are having interests outside of work!!
  20. Lol - we'd have had to be *incredibly* lucky...we'd have needed another 17 points to make 5th last season! Our fans sometimes...
  21. I'm enjoying Liverpool's struggles as much as anyone else, but Raheem Sterling is a damn good player. And he's only 20 (same age as JWP).

    Hesketh

That occurred to me too, but honestly I don't think Tadic would have played any more of a role in defending the cross. It was a straight swap too, so can't blame change in formation either (not that there would have been time for it to kick in).

    Mistakes

Is this really a thread? Or just a post that should have been in the post-match meltdown thread?
