  1. ...to 2 games. It's still a massive deterrent, for quite a lowly sin.
  2. So where's your analysis then? You suggest a lot but do none. If we had more data available we would do more analysis but we don't, so we use what we have. The stats have value. Fraser Forster has saved a greater %age of shots than Tim Howard over the season. More data would make them higher value, but we don't have that (or at least nobody has provided). And if you did do that analysis I could point to yet another variable you haven't controlled for. Again, it wouldn't invalidate the conclusions. To paraphrase Voltaire: "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good". The original post asked for these stats and here they are. I'm sorry you don't like the formatting of the chart.
  3. Seems like a fairly common sense answer to the problem to be honest. Yes the rules say it is either 3 games or none, but in a non-black and white world there is room for discretion and reducing by one for the horrendous mitigating circumstances, while still punishing with missing two games, feels like the right outcome achieved in the end. It's frustrating it's against us that he gets his reprieve, but I wouldn't be crying foul if it meant a suspension against Man U / Arsenal / Liverpool was overturned.
  4. Since nobody has actually bothered to answer the question asked, I thought I'd take it upon myself to provide the answer. This is based on the statistics in the link provided by Smirking Saint. Yes, read nothing into these numbers if they don't agree with your preconception. I think you'll find Hart has a better save to shots ratio than Forster.
  5. Which of our cash flow streams will have been affected by Swiss currency movements? I've just run through all of them I can think of and none of them will be in CHF. If you are talking about the ability for our owners to inject additional funds in the future (which is nothing to do with existing cash flow) then I highly doubt sophisticated investors will keep all their wealth invested in just one minor currency.
  6. Well, obviously they couldn't find one they wanted since they didn't buy one. But that is entirely different from saying there wasn't a single decent striker available. The debate would be over whether it would have been better to compromise a little over their desired characteristics / price for the sake of making a decent push for European football over the run-in. That's an interesting conversation to my mind, and I'm undecided which way I fall, given our general strategy of chasing long-term value (think Billy Sharp, who wasn't a player with long term viability for us, but his purchase added massive value to the club in his short contribution). But to claim there simply wasn't a single person available that they could have possibly gone for is reductive and stifles the debate. To present it slightly crudely, you are claiming that there wasn't a single woman in a nightclub, when what you mean is you're not going to find your wife in there. There's no shame in making a short term play to keep you on the right tracks until the next opportunity...unless you haven't made yourself attractive enough to those on offer.

    Yoshida

Anyone else think he could be used up top as striker for us? I think he would look decent up there, and would give Pelle a much needed break.
  8. Is everyone seriously claiming that there wasn't one single decent striker available in the whole world this January? You realise there are leagues other than the Prem, right? And that we have people whose entire jobs are to watch them.
  9. Yeah, my gf is a huge fan. She's from Minnesota and everything. Only problem is she has Adrian Peterson on the back of her shirt. The cheerleaders are all nice people too, pick your favourite here... http://www.vikings.com/cheerleaders/2014-roster.html
  10. What's this got to do with paedophilia Tim? I'm missing your link there.
  11. You're not so bad yourself, handsome!
  12. Hi Pap, if I don't actually put anyone on my ignore list, but just choose to ignore and not respond to idiotic posts that I read on a case-by-case basis, does that make me part of the Covert Ignore Brigade or Overt Ignore Brigade? Only I can't think of a suitable rhyme for a third category (avert? divert? subvert? pervert?).

Hi Guided Missile! I've enjoyed your contribution to this thread so far, and I'd be interested to hear your wider views, particularly those regarding the Saints. I wondered if you'd be so kind as to answer a set of questions I have prepared for you about the current Saints side: Who are your best players this season? And your worst? Sum up this season in one word Now sum it up in 50 What's the atmosphere like at your home games? Are there any promising youngsters in your squad? Player you'd most like to sign for this season (realistically)? Player you'd most like to see leave? Where will your team finish this season? Who do you want to replace Ronald Koeman when he leaves? Which opposition player do your fans most dislike? Best game ever seen? Worst game seen? Funniest thing seen at a match? Biggest disappointment? Best ever atmosphere? Favourite all-time player? Worst player even seen? What makes you most proud of your club? Which do you prefer The Dell or St Mary's?
  14. Well he's clearly Japanese, so it's not surprising that you would find him "strange". Quit picking on people just because they're not the same as you.
  15. What is a "Promiscuity factor"? Are you suggesting men are less promiscuous than women?

I live in Yankeeland and nobody would ever think of saying "Cripes". It's a most British of phrase. Even the Daily Mail agrees with me... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2053670/Cripes-Traditional-British-words-face-extinction-text-speak-norm.html You do realise America is a real place and not just a repository for your pet peeves?

  18. Elia's raising a hand to appear for offside, then must have realised it's him playing Austin on!
  19. It's incredible that so many people on this thread were close to massive payouts then got robbed in the last minute. That must be less likely than just going all the way and winning it, of which we have had none so far. Which is a good time for me to mention I won £216,400 on the accumulators a few years back.

I don't really think that's true, is it? People generally have fairly convergent views of what constitutes attractive. Sure people value certain attributes over others, sure, but there's typically wide agreement on levels of attractiveness. Otherwise (certain, but really most) moviestars and (all) models wouldn't enjoy the suucess that they do if they didn't have universal appeal. I'd love to join you, but I'm on the wrong continent. I could send my brother though - he's more of a 7 (5)!

What number are you on the good looking scale thing Coxford_lou? I am a 6, in my own head, 4 in other people's.
