My word, those JWP stats are appalling. Damning even! I'm not a great fan of him but I didn't realise he was as poor as that. I guess "chances created" he's doing ok, although he plays in 'that position' that would be creating them, and lags a way behind both Tadic and Steven Davis. All the other categories he's abysmal!

We used to be very very stingey in this column in the past. I believe it caused us problems too, under Cortese, as I recall. I assume it is just a catch-up of that with us moving more back in-line with others.

I own that shirt. I'm not kidding - it's in my drawer now. I won it by having my face circled in the end-of-season Daily Echo competition they used to do. He was on the subs bench (obviously) and they gave all the subs to the Junior Saints section. I presume it's the same one as in this pic, as he can't have had need for more than one. It's very baggy.

Does anyone think of the word "Saints" as having its original meaning of religious holy people any more? To me it's just a sound that means the shortened form of Southampton (from a Football perspective), like the word Soton (for the city), devoid of any other context or usage. It was weird to me just then to think about it further and realise that our name means exceptionally holy people that have been canonised by the Vatican.
