I don't know if this has any relevance to the sacking of pardew but thought I would share it now he's gone. I met the bald man from the football league show last saturday night, and we talked football briefly. He was very complementary about our team and said we ought to get promoted with the players we have (I told him our bench was a bit light) He also said we were a club who were very well respected by the press and neutrals but recently this is beginning to change, citing the banning of other photographers from SMS. Called NC a "megalomaniac". Said Pardew was not allowed to talk to the press, apparently AP wanted to, who knows what about, said AP would apologise to reporters and say he wasn't allowed to speak to them (i guess only throught the official routes...?) He said this stance would make the press less likely to write about us favourably and when the going gets tough they will be more likely to turn on us (make us the new dirty leeds? i dont want that!) Then said NC is trigger happy and that if AP didn't perfrom would get the chop in a hurry. ( i didn't think he meant that quickly tho!) We then spoke about cardiff and bellamy but that aint too relevant here. So the new manager better be **** hot from the off and the shy retiring type with the media....!

I meant "English football" whoops!

neglish football is waiting for the Milner deal to go through, then the moeny will trickle down as Toomer has said, and we'll start to do business. For example, we'll have to wait for Donny to buy someone before we buy Brian Stock. (Hypothetical example).

don't we need some painting done around the stadium? or maybe if we have some work going at the new training ground... John Stead is not a talented footballer. No thanks.

Just spoke to my Palace supporting mate, he's very negative. Thay haven't got the players who are worth enough to cover the debts should they want/choose/be allowed to sell. (Bear in mind their best player, Ambrose went for £750k to QPR). He said liquidation is most likely outcome... He also told me we should get Alan Lee!

League One Odds - 2010/11 (With 20 teams)
gogo_saint replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I know a guy who won thousands combining wolves as champions with an ebanks-blake top goalscorer bet last season, now I dont think our odds would be as good but a champions and lambert top scorer would be a good bet in my book... -
As good as it would be there is no way of doing a fair Saturday only ST. When we get to the finals of the league cup, JPT and FA cup we'll have to move loads of our Saturday games to mid week and that just wouldn't be fair now would it... Move away fans round the corner Get Better Beer and serve it faster PA system is redundant. Fix it, and hook up a mic to Pardew so we can all hear what he's saying!

Yes definitely.

I'm going to cheer on the Wolves at Fr***on Park. Never been to that shi t hole before... Saints to win 3-1!

Cheers for your help guys, much appreciated!

Brilliant. Thanks for your help, I still need to get my ticket at the ground so will leave plenty of time to do so, also, is it best to get the 70 from Temple Meads? or Filton Abbey Wood? And yes, which pub!?
-
Hey I'm coming down from Cardiff on my own, would also like to know which station is best to head to, http://www.footballgroundguide.com/bristol_rovers/ says filton wood is closest, but still a 20-25 min walk... would be up for sharing a taxi from parkway/temple meads?

i got mine this morning (sat) £15 too.

Jam is dead right. After the Wycombe game I had a thought that NC had to heap the pressure on us. All the top clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid have to win every game, or at the very least expect to. Creating that winning mentality has to run right through the club. NC has to expect to win, AP has to, and so do the team. When young players go to top teams such as Man U and Madrid often they struggle to adjust to this pressure. By applying it now, and rightly so, it give our players time to adjust for next season, when it will definitely be on. AP said by the end of the season he expects us to be a top 2 team, this means the best in the league in terms of quality not league placing. This season is a learning process for players like lallana, james, and the like, even Kelvin who have been used to losing matches since the playoff season in the championship. PS I am not saying in any way we are like Madrid or Manure, just that next season we will have to expect to win every game regardless who we are playing and where, and to be champions. I know this is impossible (winning every game), but if you dont aim for the top then whats the point in competition?
