it has worked out very well for them. Of course the likes of Eddie Howe, Chris Wood and Matt Targett wont be of any use to them in 2 seasons time but they are doing a job for now.

the table is not looking great again. 4-5 teams that 6 weeks ago we looked to have a great chance of finishing above, are all now above us. I've tried to support Ralph but last night was a step too far. Being able to set up a team to get results against Man City, Utd, Spurs and Arsenal only to fu ck it up against Burnley, Watford and Norwich is beyond frustrating. Looking like we will finish 15th at best so no improvement on last season. Theres been some flashes of brilliance, but the inconsistency is just unacceptable.
-
I like Ralph but he should walk after this game. Losing to Burnley, Norwich or Watford are arguably sackable offences on their own, but all 3 in the same season is unacceptable
-
think we will struggle for motivation. Leeds will be up for this and have picked up under their new manager. Can't see anything other than a comfortable Leeds victory. 3-0
-
always going to get punished for mistakes like that, sad to see the game finished after 10 mins
-
A quite incredible collapse over the last 9 days. Absolute waste of time playing out of our skins for a couple of months if we are going to revert back to performance like this. For many sides losing at home to Watford would be a sackable offence. Season over now, we are undoubtedly safe already but would be surprised if we get much more than 40 points.
-
really not confident in this team right now, despite the fact Watford are dire. I think they will sit back and frustrate us. May be time to give Adam Armstrong a start. Saints 1-1 Watford (Dennis 8, Adams 61)
-
the end of our good run of form. Unless we invest in the summer, we are going to fall a long way behind teams like Villa and Newcastle. We are safe at least, but would be nice to stop the rot against Newcastle.
-
can't see is being able to cope with Newcastle in the form they are in. Think we will start to drop a bit now after playing out of our skins for nearly 3 months. Saints 0-2 Newcastle
-
A crushing defeat was well overdue. We've had a great run, but as painful as it is to say, Villa are a few levels above us
-
best we can hope for is to take it to penalties, but wouldn't fancy us in that situation. Feeling a little deflated, but at least it means we won't have to play them in the final😉
-
absolutely raging with that, our only meaningful game left this season. Honestly thought Ralph was better than that. Easy to make some money on West Ham but would rather we had some success. Respect to Davey Moyes though, all to play for on three fronts and puts out a strong side
-
We have to go all out as our league campaign is pretty much over; we aren't going down and we won't catch the team in 7th. I trust Ralph to pick a strong side. We've had a couple of days extra rest, and West Ham have a busy schedule with upcoming Europa league. Whilst they have a decent first 11, they don't have great strength in depth. Saints 1-0 West Ham (Adams 62)
-
Have to agree with Carragher and Neville. Ralph is now getting the best out of this team and like it or not, those above and even some below have better squads than ours. Whilst its unlikely, if we keep playing anything like this for the next 10 games we will get close to 7th. Just enjoying the moment though, 2021 was so depressing, a real struggle at times. Great to see us competing with and at times outplaying so many teams

5 points clear now of Champions League chasing Villa, and only a point behind team of the season Brighton.
-
as much as we give him stick, so happy to see Long score. Tidy performance, but today it's almost more alarming how poor Everton are.
-
Everton are almost making it to easy for us, so much space going forward we don't know what to do with it, If we don't win this game it will be our worst result of the season by far.
-
another great result, feels like it's finally coming together under Ralph. We haven't had a period of results like this for a few years.
-
loving the confidence on here. Main concern is we played with real high intensity last night with arguably the strongest 11 we could put out. As poor as Utd have been by their standards, with an extra days rest, think they will just edge it. Utd 2-1 Saints (Ronaldo pen 41, Pogba 58, Ward-Prowse 80)
-
sorry, what?
-
very disappointed in the line up, thought Ralph might see this as a better opportunity than that of picking up points in the next 2 league games. Saints 0-1 Coventry (Gyokeres 61).
-
City due to drop some points, so anticipating an early red card for Laporte after 10 mins. Saints 1-1 City (Silva 27, Adams 41)
-
fairplay Leeds, they've been thin on the ground and still played. Don't know how I was unaware, but 2 week 'winter break' at the end of the month? Surely the postponed games will be getting rearranged for then, Leicester have already had a break
-
we are due a defeat unfortunately so expect Wolves to win this 1-0 in a close game.
-
dominated that half, should be 2 goals clear at least, but we all know it goes downhill in the 2nd half of games. Even a draw would be our worst result of the season. Some decent options on the bench with Adams and Armstrong bros.
