  1. Decent result, WBA were shocking and we really should have taken advantage of that. We cannot afford to keep playing JWP and Davis in the same team.Van Dijk looks class. The goals will come enventually, but it's clear already we won't be improving on last season, but that's understandable. We really need Clasie and Betrand back, then we will have a strong first 11. 2. They've missed out on a lot of targets. They only bought N'jie from Lyon because they couldn't get Lacazette. Embarassing really. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  3. Just what I heard. I know someone who works at the club, I don't claim to be 'itk'. It's not definite, but they are very confident of getting it over the line. And I am not obessesed with Spurs, I don't really care for them, but when it's involving Saints players then I'm interested. Anyways, I'll refrain from sharing anything in the future. Would love to see Big Vic stay. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  4. Deal could be done by tomorrow. We may be taking Lamela. I think Dembele would be a perfect fit for us, but doesn't look like it's happening. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  5. Did Pulis not say Berahino may still leave? It's all well and good keeping him, but imo the lad has a bad attitude anyway, I respect how WBA have handled it. But realistically, is he going to perform to his best abilities if he stays? I think they may still sell, but it would make him learn a lesson by letting him rot in the reserves. It never seems to get mentioned, but with cases like Wanyama, it must have a negative impact on squad morale. In my mind he's essentially putting down his own teammates and believing he is better than them. It surely must impact their opinions on him. However, I think we do let our players go too easily.I would love Les -Reed to fully explain how he thinks our transfer strategy will lead us to the Champions League. It's simply not sustainable. If we're going to continue operating like we do, Les needs to cut out the bull****. We're a well run business, but in footballing terms nothing more than a stepping stone. It may also be worth getting an electrician out on monday to fix the faulty connection in the black box so we can make some decent signings. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  6. It's just arrogance on his part, I don't think he's done enough (yet) to justify a move to a bigger club. At least unlike Morgan, he is replaceable. The only slight issue is whether we will get a replacement in on time as the deal with Spurs isn't happening until Monday at the earliest. I guess in the next 72 hours we will find out if we really do have any ambition. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  7. At least it won't be just this board having a meltdown this weekend. Very strange results but makes the league far more exciting. A win tomorrow and we will be looking ok Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  8. We've tried and failed. That's pretty much it. Still, what a journey it has been over the last 6 years. It had to end sometime. It's only becoming more difficult to break the glass ceiling and get into the top 6. We gave it a phenomenal effort last season and it's hard to see another team coming close in the next few seasons. I know it was always unrealistic, but a lot of us started to believe we were on the verge of something special. Oh well, #wemarchdownthetable Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  9. Yep, it's been long balls to Pelle, followed by knockdowns to either no one, or players with fantastic goal records like JWP and Davis. I thought Tadic looked lively when he came on, and you'd think Mane will be ok to return. Stek Soares Caulker Fonte Targett Romeu Davis Tadic Mane J-Rod Pelle Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  10. Spot on. Even a win will feel like a loss in a way as it won't mean a lot. I don't think I've felt so gutted at losing a game in 10 years. Last night was massive and it felt like we didn't give a **** about it. It's hard to be enthusiastic about about the season ahead, it's ended before it's started. I'm just not sure how we will pick ourselves up from this. I usually support Les Reed but our transfer business has been questionable so far this summer. And as for being a 'showcase' club, what exactly were we showcasing last night????????? One thing is for sure, the aim of getting Champions League football won't be happening for this club anytime soon. The only slight positive is in the next few weeks our starting 11 will look a lot stronger than last night's line up. In an ideal world I'd like to see us sign VVD, Redmond and Austin but it's not going to happen. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  11. Would be surprised if he signs now. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  12. Correct. He wouldn't even be a standout player for a League One side. Seems like a good kid but very limited footballing ability. He's certainly the weakest player in the squad (although Martina is pushing him hard for that title) Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  13. Think a few will be happy. Personally, I was really looking forward to the Europa League, a lot more than the PL. I honestly never thought we would crash out at this stage. I feel sick, tonight was an absolute embarassment. There was nothing tonight, absolutely nothing. We are a shadow of the team from last season, which is quite incredible. Koeman seems to have lost the plot and we have lost our spark. I don't think the transfer window will save us now. I'd be surprised if we sign a striker which we desparately need. **** knows where we found Martina from, he's clearly not a footballer. As for Ward-Prowse, I will reiterate again he is Championship standard at best, I don't give a **** how many appearances he has made or how many goals he has for England under-21s. It pains me to say it but now really is the time for a meltdown, and it could be a whole lot worse this time next season. One thing was confirmed tonight, we are not a 'showcase' club as Les Reed claims. Tonight we were showcasing complete ****e. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  14. Absolute embarassment. Can't understand how we have become so poor. Could well have a relegation battle on our hands this season. Still, more interesting than finishing eighth. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  15. Shocking line up. Would be surprised if we go through. The bench looks stronger. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  16. Having his medical for Spurs? Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  17. So disappointing. I can accept the club has a strategy, but to achieve everything we have up to now and then give up is hard to accept. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  18. I don't want to say we were lucky last season, but for a squad of our ability we were playing at optimum performance levels. I think Ron has to take a lot of credit for that. There were only 4 or 5 games last season where we deserved nothing. Liverpool and Spurs were playing way below their own levels on a regular basis yet still finished above us. I just don't think it's realistic to expect a repeat of last season. I think we are a mid-table side. There's not a lot to choose between ourselves and Stoke, Swansea, Newcastle, Palace etc. We could finish 8th as easily as we could 14th. To be honest last season was as good as will get whilst we operate the way we do. That's not being critical of the club and the way it's run, it's the reality of the situation. I would much prefer we go on a run in Europa this season, forget the league in terms of aiming for top 6/7/8. We looked a bit rusty again today, but once VVD arives along with the return of Bertrand and Clasie, we will look a lot more solid. Still think we should make a move for Redmond. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  19. Looks very defensive. Only positive is we have some decent options on the bench. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  20. Had a big bet on Watford, hoping we can win this though. A draw wouldn't be a disaster at this early stage. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  21. Until we decide to take a massive gamble and splash the cash like Man City (which is unlikely) to buy our way into the top 4 then this is how it's going to be. Their summer business has been ridiculous, they don't even seem concerned by transfer fees. I think some of us expect it. Just because the Liebherr estate is worth millions or billions, Kat is not obliged to pump it all into the club. It seems to be getting to a point where things go quiet so the media decide to pick on us. It will be interesting to see how Wanyama and Mane play should they be picked. The transfer window deadline really does need to be moved. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  22. 'sky sources'. Do they just spend all day on twitter and pick out the best rumours? Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  23. Nothing to worry about. It's just Spurs stirring. We're moaning on here about bringing in quality, they've had a massive struggle bringing in players. Toby was the only one who was on their first choice of targets. Although when I heard who they missed out on it's not difficult to see why. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  24. Not confident at all, our defence really worries me. If Fonte's out, we are looking at a heavy defeat. Watford 3-1 Saints Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  25. Another poor performance. But once Bertrand and Clasie return plus hopefully VVD, this team will be looking a lot different. I don't think we have brought in as much quality as last year, but realistically we were never going to improve on last seasons overall performance. Still, I really don't see us winning on Sunday, we look desparately short on confidence. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
