Sparta Prague 1 Saints 0 - Match Thread & Melt Down
Saint_Tony replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Embarassing. Worst performance since Bournemouth away last season. Fans should be refunded. Massive pressure now just to qualify. Theres no squad depth. Clasie ****ing useless. J rod not good enough. If we don't beat Everton there will be serious questions asked. We are not ready for Europe yet. Anyone we draw if we get through, we will ****ing bottle it like we have tonight. Fuming. When he's fit he scores goals. Of course we'd want him here. But as has been mentioned it's more of a West Ham signing. If we qualify for the Europa knockout then we need someone like Sturridge. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Not too bothered; we got two seasons out of him which is quite a long time these days. Managers will always come and go. I'd still like to see him fail at Everton though; all the talk of ambition, yet their marquee signing was Bolasie, who turns up one game in every five. They will finish above us, but 7th looks nailed on so for Koeman it looks like, whilst his bank balance is healthier, he's just making a sideways step in terms of moving on to better things. To be honest, I'd be dissapointed even with a draw on Sunday against them. If we can't score a couple against Stek and a past it Jagielka then there has to be serious concerns. Very good result. If we'd have gone for it we'd have got well beat. Gives a few on here another week to bemoan lack of goals, no Mane, Pelle etc. We need to show more against Everton though and get three points Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Let's be honest a 0-0 draw would be a very good result. Strange seeing us set up like this at home , but Liverpool are so good going forward. Dare I say it, but this is a game for Shane Long. I'd bring him on for Austin Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

We're sitting back but it's working so far. Only problem is we're offering nothing going forward. Just need to get in level at half time. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Any team news? Or are we just continuing the theme of Lallana's a ****? Ok then, Lallana's a ****. Really hope we smash Liverpool, had a nice bet on them at even money so hoping for a loss there and a 3-0 Saints win. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Liverpool winning seems like such a certainty, I think we will turn them over. 3-1 Saints and the best performance of the season. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

I think the problem is that a lot of people seem to think finishing lower than last year represents failure; it doesn't. We've already done well in the Europa, and I wouldn't write us off in a match up between ours and Arsenal's B team. The performance yesterday was unforgivable, but not as bad as some ( see Bournemouth away, Stoke at home last season). The lack of goals is frustrating, but hopefully this improves, we are creating a lot more chances than other teams. It's quite possible we may finish as low as 14th, but any sort of success in the EFL cup or semis of Europa would be an achievement. We need to accept there will be some poor performances with all the games we have. And when we have a shocker, I will still have a moan. But it's really not all that bad. Remember last season when we had around 20 points going into the new year? After Everton and Liverpool we have some very winnable games through December and christmas, with a break from the other competitions. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Embarassing. The lack of cutting edge really is unforgivable. Even the games we have won we've made hard work of. This defeat today shows why we will not finish as high as last season. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Hull are very poor. We lacked urgency until the last five minutes. If we don't win this it will be our worst result of the season Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Still recall Yoshida at RB against Fulham in our first season up. Had an absolute shocker. Reasonable side, surprised Boufal not starting. We should be winning this but may have settle for a point Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Yep, he has made changes earlier in games than Koeman and MP ever did, this really does require Boufal, Austin and Davis. I'd take off J-rod. Jwp and tadic Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Just don't think we have the bottle to win the next two. A draw tonight changes things massively, but I just can't see it. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Very clever from Inter to stall over the penalty. End of the road for us in terms of Europa qualification, unless theres some drastic changes. We're not quite up to it at this level yet, but hopefully we will be here again. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

This may be harder than the away game if they sit back. We absolutely must get a result though. If Sparta win, then a draw would be ok if we can beer Beer Sheva. Hoping for a strong team; it doesn't look like Claude will have much choice other than to go with Austin. Think we may see Boufal start too. Going to go for a 1-1 draw, but a win would be a massive step towards qualification. 9/2 for an Inter win at St Marys - never thought I'd see those odds! Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
-
Just beaten by the better side really. I'm not concerned; let's start preparing for Inter, because unlike today, it's a massive game. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Think we will dominate and get picked off on the break. Going to be very difficult to get back in this Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
-
Think it will be a tough game, they seem to have improved in recent weeks. Big concern Hazard vs Martina. We are playing well ourselves though, and a repeat of last weekends performance should be enough for another 1-1 draw. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Sunderland's team looks stronger than ours. We have good options on the bench though. Think we will edge this 2-1 in extra time Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

We might get one more season out of him. In my opinion hes destined to become world class. I can be critical of our team and players, but I genuinely believe he is the best cb in the league right now and I think many others will share this view by the end of the season. Next summer i hope it would take a fee of £60 million for us to sell Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Same here, did at half time just to cover the disappointment when it happens. We've done well so far, but 30 mins is too long to hold on Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
-
Their defence might be all over the place, but on the basis we are converting about 1 in every 10 chances, I can't see us scoring. And as you say they can rip us apart going forward. Think it will be 2-0 City (Sterling , Aguero ) Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
-
Agreed, I think a 0-0 is our best hope. Not a massive game, most teams will get beat here this season. More concerned about the Sunderland and Inter games. We are doing better than I expected this season, but there's little chance of us finishing top 7. Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Massive missed opportunity, a draw would have been fine. We really need 2 wins to make sure of qualification, group is very tight now. If we do qualify, a new striker has to be top of the January shopping list Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
