  1. We were always going to go backwards at somepoint. The injuries to VVD and Austin have been a massive blow to us and the squad Puel has had to pick from simply isn't as good as we have had in recent years. I have lost interest a bit this season but it has generally (cup run aside) been pretty poor. We really need to sort out the forward line for next season; J-Rod sadly looks to be finished as a PL striker. If Gabbiadini and Austin can stay fit we will score plenty of goals. Boufal is a worry still; it seems he almost wants to create problems for himself to try and overdo things instead of just beating his man. We were always going to be due an undewhelming season and some seem to struggle to accept it. Spend the VVD money wisely and I'd expect a much better next season. We just have to put up with getting beat a few more times this season. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  2. not a great game. Spurs weren't great and look ordinary without Kane. We did the damage in the first half and couldn't get back into. Not our best performance, but certainly not our worst. We have been playing on a serious handicap without VVD and Austin, now to add Gabbi, we really have been unlucky with injuries to big players this season. Looking forward to next season now. Austin/ Gabbi with Long as back up would be ok, it's going to be dfensive reinforcements we really need. Final thought - Boufal had a shocker, still yet to have a good run of games though. A disappointing first season, but plenty of potential for next year. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  3. It's all a bit boring now. Let's face it he obviously had some issues with the club, otherwise there would be no need to do an interview like that after leaving. My guess is the EC victory went to his head, but it all backfired in the end and it must be a bit embarassing that he ended up at West Ham. He was a great captain, but he's gone and we move on. 4. Quite fancy to do a job on Watford today, their team looks bang average. 2-1 Saints. Gabba and Redmondinho Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  5. Gotta give a lot of credit to Puel; you can see he put a lot of planning into the game. I thought we would try and keep it tight but we attacked them from the off. It's strange to say Utd weren't at the races, even though they scored 3. Zlatan is a machine. Gutted to lose, but there wasn't much more we could have done. It's a good springboard for the last few games. We've the makings of a good side here, but as usual depends on our summer activity. And hopefully some players will see we are trying to achieve something and aren't a million miles away. I think with the europa we've had to take a step back. final thoughts - JWP played very well for about the third time ever - Just imagine Mourinho if it was Utd who had that goal disallowed Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  6. Gave it our all. No complaints. Utd weren't great but Zlatan is world class and is a game changer. We don't have players like that. We did ourselves proud though. we march on Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  7. matchday. Let's do this Saints. Man Utd to dominate. Yoshida with the winner . 1-0 Saints. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  8. Good stuff so far. No fears of relegation now Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  9. I'm not a fan of JWP, but after a bit of initial promise Hojberg has been no better than him. He shouldn't be looking elsewhere, he shold try to perform when he gets the chance. About time Tadic had a decent game. Our front 3 is a bit of a lottery every week under Puel, but I have a feeling it might work today. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  10. nervous for this; it's a massive game and right now I'm doubting our ability to stand up and be counted. A win would be huge but Sunderland have picked up a bit and what might have looked easy on paper 3 months ago no longer does. We have the ability to turn up as we showed against Liverpool and Leicester, but with Claude's constant rotation (and injuries) you don't know what youre going to get with Saints these days. 11. Jan-Paul Saeijs, scored 2 for us against Watford away in the Championshio. One was a free kick from some distance Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  12. You just worry where the next win is coming from. The performances against Liverpool and Leicester were decent, and Bournemouth before that. But they are far too infrequent. You just wonder where the next points are coming from, as confidence will be low right now and we are lacking in quality. Relegation has to be a concern. I'd like to think we will be ok but if we survive it really will be a case of limping over the line. Les Reed has done a good job until now; it's like the Adkins situation. He's out of his depth and needs replacing. Puel too. Sadly I can see them both staying into next season. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  13. relegation battle now. Sunderland will certainly fancy their chances against us next week. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  14. true, flashes of brilliance so far but with his injuries he's had no real run of games as yet. This could be his time now. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  15. Les will just bang on about getting to the EFL cup final at the end of the season as a sign of progress to paper over the cracks. We have a choice over whether we want to truly try and progress with the club. The foundations and funds are there. Les is more interested in running it as a sustainable business. I hear people say it's risky to throw a load of money at signings to try and buy success. You know what's also a risk Les? making a massive **** up with the recruitment of defenders. We are in a relegation scrap now, make no mistake Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  16. The problem is the squad is in such a poor state. I really feel the wheels are about to come off. I did trust Les, but now have to start questioning if he knows what he's doing. It would take a monumental transfer window plus a change of manager in the summer to get us back on track. VVD is gone, possibly Bertrand too. The only positive I can take is that there will be less sales in the summer, but that reflects the poor quality of the team now. 2 out, but we will need 3 defensive players, another striker and a couple of midfielders. One or two of Reed/JWP/Clasie have to go. come on Les, ****ing wake up! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  17. cb announced at 11pm? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  18. maybe we are taking a gamble and leaving the CB situation as it is? We are in the cup final and only a few wins from safety - maybe we have options lined up who aren't available until the summer? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  19. maybe Gabbiadini is the J-Rod replacement? I feel massively sorry for him, but I fear he may never recover from his injury. I fail to see how he is worth so much, his good season was 2013-14, quite a while ago. To be honest, if he went to West Brom today I really can't see him scoring many. And in a years time we will be saying we were right to get rid. It's a bit risky, but it looks like we will be ok to avoid relegation, and we can use Long for the EFL final, who I don't feel is any better/worse than J-Rod. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  20. is he worth any more? If it wasn't for Austin being injured then I'd say it would be a reasonable deal to do Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  21. Oh well. I said last week we had three massive games. A good 3-0 win followed by Wednesday night was great. I think we knew what to expect when the line ups came out. No doubt there will still be a meltdown if we lose by 3 or 4. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  22. Well done Claude, this game is ideal for Long Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  23. this will be an absolute sickener if we don't get through. By far the best side for 3 quarters of this tie. Long needs to come on for Rodriguez Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  24. very nervous for this. Really think we should get at them for the first 20 minutes to get a goal and put the pressure on them. Incredible to think that, despite the stick he gets, Puel is only 90 mins from a Wembley final. Head says 2-0 Liverpool in 90. Heart says 1-1 with a last minute Yoshida header. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  25. Vardy's had a bet on Liverpool for the EFL cup Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
