yeah the odds on transfers and next managers are very sensitive. The simple reason is the bookies don't have a clue so they are on high alert as soon as someone parts with as much as even a tenner. If someone wanted to bet an 11/4 shot to win a football match they would take it all day long. If i was to go and put 100 pounds now on VVD to stay theyd be running scared and shorten it to evens. don't we already have Boufal, Tadic and Redmond? it seems the wide am who creates is always everyone's most anticipated signing. I think we are ok in the striker department; the main worry is Gabba and Austin getting injured. We still need a decent cm. Ward Prowse and Davis not good enough if we want to challene for 7th. The whole makeup of the league has been different this season; essentially back to normal on terms of the 'top 6' actually making up the top six. Then you have Everton and then the best of the rest. Under Roko and MoPo we were able to mix it with the top sides and beat all of them along the way. In addition, it was clear we were better than the likes of WBA, Stoke etc. This season there is little between 8th and 17th so our position is a little flattering. However, Ralph's comments suggest to me Puel may be on his way. We've gone backwards this season for sure. Not all Puel's fault, but I don't think he's the man for us. The EFL cup run was great but many teams have made it through to the final before. That aside, there just haven't been many highlights. The Europa League was a major disappointment and Puel's rotation has been massively frustrating. Quite simply, there has been a lack of entertainment and very few memorable games. I am struggling to think of any great wins; Inter Milan at home was good but that aside? Under Koeman and Poch we played some great stuff and beat all the top sides along the way. I am aware we may still finish 8th, but I feel that distorts the real picture; the way the league has been this year has been top 6, Everton and then very little between 8th to 17th. tbh if Gabbiadini and Austin are fit then Long is fine as a back up option. J-Rod has sadly had it, could see him going back to Burnley or somewhere. Not sure if we will get much for him. sort of expected that today. I swear Kompany always manages to turn out when they play us. I just hope Les and co are sorting stuff now for the summer. I'm not the biggest fan of Puel but he's had far more limited resources than Koeman and MP so hasn't done too bad a job.
